ready for. >> does the white house have new employee. the offer a young boy made that could bring him to 1600 pennsylvania avenue. news at 10 starts now. >> we begin tonight with a frightening home invasion in montgomery county. thanks for joining us everyone i'm shawn yancy. >> and i'm tony perkins. >> a family bound and held captive inside their home overnight. the motive was robbery and victims were targeted because of where one of them works. >> laurean is live in silver spring tonight to status off. lauren. tony, shawn, tonight police are searching for five suspect. they say some of the men showed up here at the home or apartment inside of this building around 9 p.m. last night. they knocked on the door and convinced two men, who were home at the time, to let them inside. then, other suspects showed up here at the apartment along manchester drive and once all them were inside they tide up the two men and thankfully left a young boy asleep in

bed. over the next few hours two women were tide up and they are working to figure out exactly what happened over the next 11 hours but at some point one of the men broke free and struggled with the suspects. she was stabbed. the 911 call came this morning around 8 a.m. captain paul stark says police believe the family was ta targeted because one of he women works for nearby check cashing company. according to a source, at some point, they took her there trying to get money. but were not able to. and so how did this all play-out? while the investigation is underway, police will not clarify whether the suspects took off after that point or whether they left following the stabbing back at the house. and the description of these men are extremely vague. meantime neighbors are terrified. >> one of the victims works at a check cashing business in this area. and detectives believe that that is why she was singled out and that's why this family was singled out.

apartment using a ruse and trick to get in there and detectives believe they were trying to get into the business itself later overnight in order to steal from that business. >> my husband told me that there are a lot of police and this morning and that's all i heard. i think they say it happened 9:00. but we did not hear anything. it was so scary and they have kids. and it's so scary moment for them. >> and that woman did not want to be identified. but she says her heart goes out to the family. we did learn that this young boy was not harmed. the man who was stabbed his injuries were not life-threatening he is expected to recover. police want to hear from anybody who has any information on the five suspects. there is a 10,000 reward available for information in the case. and the number that you can call if you want to remain anonmous is 1-866-411ivee t tips. live in

live in silver spring, laurean, "fox5 local news". new tonight a spotsylvania county man is behind bars accused of holding girlfriend and two children captive inside their home. 43-year-old kareem alley mohammed moore is charged with felony abduction and assault. spotsville says officers responded to welfare check at the home along mine road on saturday. when officers spoke with moore at the front door the woman and children ran out on the side door. the children are 8 and 11 years old. and the woman told investigators they had not been allowed out of the house in at least two years. a surge in gang violence in montgomery maryland urnled lead others to take steps to stop it hiring more law enforcement officers and going after gang members on social media. >> more accusations of evidence tampering by baltimore police led to another case being dropped. police body cam footage released today shows 7 officers serving a car uringment during the search they turned cameras off and back on. baltimore public defender office accused them of ta tampering evidence. the video shows an officer placing something in the car and then it is lightser discovered as drugs. two officers involved in the case were referred to internal affairs and police commissioner mandated officers to leave their body cameras on all the time. >> doubt comes into play when the officers are present at the scream of an incident and turn cameras off before they're physically gone from the scene. and then something else happens that leads them to collect more evidence than they already collected. now this is not the first time that police body cam footage led to accusations of evidence tampering last month you may remember prosecutors dropped charges in the case
