found with winds of 70 miles an hour and the beginning of an eye developing, looks like gert will become the second hurricane of the atlantic season later on on tonight. now, here's the good thing. it's going to pass well to the west of bermuda. it will pass east of the united states east coast, so we're not going to get a land fall out of gert. however, if you're going to be at the beaches, do know that this will really kick up big surf, it's not just getting stronger but we think it will start to increase its forward motion eventually. so here's where it is right now, halfway between bermuda and the florida coast and it will continue to strengthen becoming a category 1 hurricane likely later tonight, staying as a cat 1 as it moves northeast and out to see and we're lucky we don't have to have a close encounter with gert and we can thank that frontal boundary the same one that's bringing us a few showers for kind of keeping it at bay, the trough will steer it more to the north and east but the trade-off is we have to deal with shower later on tonight probably more tomorrow.

temperatures in the mid 80's here locally, 70's up to pennsylvania. at 8:00 in the morning, expecting a temperature of 75 degrees and a lot of clouds. by noon, maybe we get more sunshine through those clouds at 81, that could cook up more showers and maybe isolated thunderstorms tomorrow around 5:00 at 84 degrees. just about everybody is back kind of into the warm territory, and definitely feeling like it because the humidity will still be up with this as well. futurecast at 5:00 tonight, has a nice handle on those showers being north of the city. very bullish on overnight showers and storms, not sure i'm buying this but we'll see if that tries to hold together, that will be the second system but shouldn't be able to find that much energy and also wants to keep a little bit more shower activity around in the morning, we scatter it out in the afternoon and chase it away tomorrow night. so that's why we say keep the umbrella handy. just to be on the safe side. we're warming up to later this week, as a warm front moves in back into what we would describe as the hot
