deannouncing racism in this country and making great strides in that hear. when you have people empowered or you neal are not standing for the issues as much as you like them it's a disheart eping things. at the end of the day 1,000 laws could be passed and it's all about the heart of people. all about will people's hearts change and how do we do that. honestly the best way to do that in a lot of ways is to say you know what i'll take a strong stance personally and against grievances in the country and address the way it should be and same time i'll be stand and apology this is what i'll do and thirdly sit down with people of different views and maybe even angry people and begin to ask the question of okay what is your view and opinion in this country nation at the end of the day it's goting to a personal decision that's why i personally feel i can belve

here in the district. take a listen. >> we can certainly -- i don't think we're in that position. we've already kind of reviewed the confederate statues and we know of the one. we don't have any on city l land. we have the one on the national park service land. >> and so a lot of people are now stepping back as this continued -- conversation continues and they're asking where will this stop. president pointed that out in his defense of keeping confederate statutes where they are and oui took to streets for pulse of people to ask you where shut line start and stop and should it start and stop at confederate statutes and continue beyond to monuments like the jefferson memorial. thoughtful responses from the handful of people we spoke with. take a listen. >> it's mostly about context tuilleizeing the issues.

>> u.s. secret service has been slapped by a major lawsuit. and white house visitor logs. tom fitzgerald has gone over the suit and enjoyed this liver from the district courthouse in d.c. fitz what is this all about? >> sarah, tom, this is it here and it was filed e

morning against the u.s. secret service. where this came from is watchdog group by the name of public citizen. they're alleging for the past four months they've been trying to get visitor logs for the white house from the u.s. secret service. basically they want to know who has been going into white house meeting and coming out of white house meeting. they filed this request they say under the freedom of information act. foia that's the particular way you go about requesting publicly available infor information. public sit discontinues say whether they filed the foia request they were told in turn they were not allowed to have records even though public citizens believes those are pubicly available record. that's what led to the lawsuit they say today by the attorney dina rosen baw. she told us what happened when she reached out to the secret service to get these logs. >> sect

first by telling us they were not agency recordsed subject to foia and when we appealed that and told them that the d.c. circumstance hit held in 2013 these were agency records subject to foia they said they already transferred records to the white house office of records management. >> and bays those record were transferred public citizens say they were told they cannot have them. what do they want to know here. they want information about meeting for the office of management and budget and office of drug control policy and also the office of environmental quality and science and technology. public citizens say they need to know who has been in these meeting because those are the meeting setting policy for the trump administration. now you might remember back to the monica lieuen ski scandal during the clinton administration visitor log tushd out to be key piece of information. because

investigation those logs were used to establish intern monica l ez winsdy was en entering and leaving the whitehouse in regards to bill clinton denying there was any affair going on in that. fast forward 2017 surprisingly turned out not everybody we talked to today said that they think the public has a right to know who is going in and out of the white house. we talked to a few folks and we did not hear a unanimous decision on that today either. >> i think it's information that should be made public yeah. >> i don't think we need to know every detail about everything that is done. i mean that's part of national security. >> yeah, for sure. it should be made public. and it begs the question why are they so -- why aren't they trying to keep this information private? >> that will he remain a question right now, sar save, shawn, we reached out to the white house and reached out to the u secret service today neither one

requests for interview on this today. we got a statement from the seek vet service it's not a very long one. all they said is was that u.s. secret service does not comment on pengd litigation. this is the very definition of pending litigation. >> indeed, fits correct me if i'm wrong here did the media sue or wasn't the media trying to get not necessarily throws logs they're suing for but in general the whitehouse visitor logs. >> well the media is a very big term. i would not put public citizen in category of media. they're an advocacy group or watch cog group but yes you know what people have been trying to get more information out of the white house not less and this has been a continuing story line throughout the shore history of the trump administration they have not been as form coming and reason a lot of people in the media had a lot of problems with the obama administration of what was perceived become then as not as
