late 1970s. letters present which the fbi recovered fingerprints and eventually tied back to william aitcheson, then a junior and the leader of the k kk lodge at umd threatening letters spelled out with cutouts saying stay off the university of maryland campus or you will die. another one read, after frik a or death by frin muching rgs take your pick. l earlier we spoke with a member of the prince george's county naacp. here's how he recalls aitcheson 's actionses. during the meeting we got a call from the fbi that we had to evacuate the building because there was going to be an attempt to fire bomb the building that we were in. this particular head of the queue cluks clan, he had also planned on fire bombing northwestern high school. jackson says he's a catholic man and he forgives aitcheson. in the meantime some of the local families \effect\affected by his hateful acts say they have yet to receive the civil

they're owed and are hoping this public confession is one step closer to closure. tony, shawn. >> thank you, marina. tonight thousands of people flooded the streets of phoenix ahead of president trump's rally. pro testors lined up as early as 8 a.m. protestors also turned out hoping to send a mess aiming following the president's comments last week about charlottesville. fox's matt california contact is live in phoenix with more on the turnout . matt. hi, guys, good evening. we are about a block away -- well, about two blocks away from the convention center i'm going to try and put this for you together inen too iks. this whole block is covered with protestors. the whole two blocks to the left and two blocks to the right also covered with he protestors. if i had to guesstimate i would guess over 3,000 people showed up to pro test the president's visit here i

a few hundred people. they marched over to the convention center, protesting the president 's visit and the rally out here, the protest just grew and grew and grew and grew. now , here's the best part. it has been pieceful so far. you probably heard that leading up to this protest a lot of people in this city were on edge. they were worried about violence. a lot of people here have been talking about what happened in charlottesville with hate groups . a lot of people have been talking about neo nazis and the kkk, but right now everything has been pieceful. the phoenix police department has been out in absolute full force and there is a buffer, a whole street buffer as well as barricades separating the pro test and separating the people going into the convention center. now as for that about 19,000 people are expected to hear president donald trump tonight and if you're not familiar with what was going on here. former sheriff joe ar b

are blasting espn over a controversial decision to pull a university of virginia football announcer because of his name. now, this is a picture of the announcer, robert lee. clearly he is asian. a spokesperson for espn confirmed he will be replaced for the september 2 game in charlottesville out of concern his name willow fend people at the game. espn re lease a statement that says we collectively made the decision with robert to switch games as the tragic events in charlottesville were unfolding simply because of the coincidence in his name. in that moment it felt right to all party. it's a shame that this is even a topic of conversation and we regret that who calls play for play for a football game has become an issue. fox5 is in prince george's county where officials have deemed a condominium unsafe and have ordered all residents to move out by noon tomorrow. while investigating the line hill condominiums. fox5 found horrible conditions including \hole\wholes in the ceiling,

s like yellow that sound innocent but really end up being a kind of tender for teens. they upload pictures and swipe left to right to decide whether or the not he dhe should chat. hot or not, is another one just like it. your child could think they're speaking with another kid when in reality they could be talking to an adult. we have a sort of a little bit an agreement that i can go in if i want to, but i sort of don't. mom admits she doesn't monster her 12 year old daughter's phone as much as she probably could. part of it comes from a lack of average. i feel i know my own kid a little bit so i sort of trust her and the other thing is i don't really know that much about apps which makes it quite dangerous, but there is a new app allowing parents to take back some control. it's called reply asap and parents can actually lock their kids' phone until they respond to their message.

northeastern aberdeen and we have some strong warnings up in advance of the storms as they head into northeastern maryland and delaware. as we look back out pretty much west of interstate 81 there's another cluster t of showers. i don't see lightening, but i see some downpours. that's just ahead of a cool front that's going to try to cross the area very late tonight and during the day tomorrow and it is going to be bringing relief. the front is touching off those showers and storms tonight, a nice push of cool air. most of the storms will be north of the district, but i couldn't rule it out in the district. not expecting too much in the way of thunder as that comes on through. let me show you the relief much it's 85 now. it's still uncomfortable. it's still humid. a little rain cooled in the northern suburbs because the showers have been passing by, but then you you can see places like pittsburgh, detroit, chicago down to 730, 7n

tomorrow's high temperature. there could be some showers around in the morning and again you may see some of those overnight with a temperature of 77. by noon can't rule out a few hit or miss showers. by 5:00 we should see the sky start to brighten here locally with a temperature of 83. noticeably lower humidity. some storms may still pop south of the district because the front will still be on the move, but it is bringing in a real taste of mid september , not even early september. wait until you see the seven day forecast. i've got lots of 70s for high temperatures on it. standby for that. it's coming up a little bit later. >> i'll take that. >> developing now, kansas city is dealing with historic flooding after heavy rain pound ed the region last night. the conditions were so bad one family was actually stranded on the roof of their home. some drivers who tried to leave the area got stuck on blooded roads emergency crews that responded to more than 0

calls video shows crews rescuing one driver sitting on top of his car last night. he wasn't expecting to be that bad because we had one last month and it was just puddles in our yard and it was big. this time it got in our house. it was up to my waist. we called the police like 15 or 20 times and they didn't come. we just got on the roof and they told us to wait there. we meta guy with a big truck. he came and gotchas. >> at least 6,000 people lost power in the region. the bad news is forecasters are calling for at least two to three inches of more rain. >> take a look at this damage from yesterday's earthquake in italy. piles of rubble, debryce off the coast of name. at least two people were hurt and nearly 40 others hurt. firefighters did find a man and they rescued three brothers from a collapsed home. this is dramatic video o
