first hand look at houston, texas. he and the first lady traveled to a church where they net displaced texans hit hard by harvey. the president and first lady are back at the white house after the trip to houston. meantime. back in texas, people who live in those flooded areas are beginning to return home and are seeing the destruction left behind by harvey. also tonight, we're learning the death toll climbed again. it now stand at 44. fox doug luzader has more from houston. >> reporter: many parts of houston are drying out. some flooded neighborhoods will remain flooded for longer than anticipated. and houston's mayor says enough is enough. >> for some of these neighborhoods in houston, this water isn't expected to go anywhere in coming days. if the army corp of engineers tries to drain nearby reservoir, some homeowners have refused to he'd evacuation orders, the mayor said it is mandatory to get out. >> i have no choice but to

fox 5 local news breaking news, dc police on the scene of a triple shooting in southeast. one of the people shot, a woman we're told was killed. >> this a is what we told you about at the first of the show, about a half mile from the congress heights metro station, fox 5's lindsay watts has more. >> reporter: two women and a man was shot one of the feel victims did not make it. according to police, no arrests have been made. family and friends of the victim who passed away are here, there was an incident earlier that brought more police rushing to the scene. some or the of alter cation and tense moments. i spoke to a man who said it was

his two female cousins shot. one of the victims was grazed by a bullet. she died on scene. he said that he doesn't know what happened here and police on scene could not for any information about that either, about what led up to this. we do the shootings happened after 7:00 p.m. on tubman road near alabama avenue. police say the man who was shot was conscious and breathing and again, one of the women was grazed by a bullet. this second woman was killed. neighbors who live on the street say that it's not typically violent here so they were surprised by what happened. as we learn more about what happened, of course, we'll keep you updated. in southeast, lindsay watts fox 5. a metro bus driver getting urine thrown in her face. latest assault metro works say they've had to deal with on job. yesterday fellow bus drivers held a protest where in one woman was attacked. >> demonstrators say they're upset about what they call unsafe

sly go avenue around 6:30 thursday, family members have not heard from her since and worried because she does not have the medicine that she needs police are asking anyone who may know where she is tonight to give them a call. in the district, police are investigating after two men were found shot along eastern avenue in northeast. this happened after 10:00 last night and police believe the victim both men were actually shot a few blocks away near eaves and 59th street. both men are expected to recover. no word on suspects. >> the shooting comes on the heals of who other shootings in the district. the first happened on anacostia in southeast. a teenage was hit but expected to recover. no too far away and just a short time later, a man was shot on minnesota avenue northeast. victim was taken to the hospital. right now, it's unclear if the shootings are related. long-time dc residents remembering former police chief isaac full wood. he died
