>> as the news of her death rocks a community a gathering of hope returns to one of remembrance. your news at 10 starts right now. >> and we start with that breaking news tonight. the desperate search for a missing pregnant teacher came to an end. the body of laura wallen was discovered today. >> wallen was reported missing last week when she didn't show up to work at a columbia, maryland high school. tonight a man is in custody charged with her death. we have team coverage tonight. lauren demarco will be live with reaction to the tragic news. >> we begin with anjali hemphill for more on how police tracked down her ki killer, anjali. >> reporter: after nine days of searching investigators believe laura wallen was actually killed last sunday. her body found on the property of a friend of tyler tessier. that's the man police introduced to the public at laura wallen's boyfriend. however we're learning there's a lot more to this

>> we know that many of you are grieving with laura's family tonight. >> reporter: more than one week after 31-year-old laura wallen was last heard from montgomery county police found her body in a field off price distillery road in demass as and tyler tessier has been arrested for her murdered. >> cadaver dogs indicated on the area and ultimately detectives found the body of laura wall anyone a shallow grave. >> tyler tessier was introduced to the public monday as laura's boyfriend and father of her unborn child. laura's family was seen holding his hand and comforting him. police say it was all a roos to get tyler to talk. >> the decision to allow him to participate in that news conference was a calculated decision made by the detectives in this case for the expressed purpose of hearing what he had to say. it was done with the approval

and knowledge of of the victim's family. >> meanwhile "fox5" confirmed from a source close to laura that tyler was living in damascus with another woman and was in a relationship with her for years. laura had recently found out about that situation and that may have something to do with her disappearance. >> we determined that mr. tessier was the last person known to have been with the victim. they were seen together on surveillance camera video on saturday, september 2 in a grocery store near the victim's home. it's suspected by investigators she was killed the next day. >> reporter: police say laura was last heard from labor day when she september her family a troubling text message. we learned at tonight's press conference that text was from someone else. >> victim's sister received texts from ms. wallen's phone monday morning, september 4 we determined that these texts were sent by ter

the suspect in this case. >> reporter: police say tyler admitted to dumping laura's car in columbia and disposing of her i.d., cellphone, and her license plate. right now police are not releasing how laura died but she was four months preing at that point and investigators say it will be up to the state's attorney's office on whether tyler will also face charges in the murder of her unborn child. that's the latest here in montgomery country police headquarters. we want to send it over to lauren demarco who was at what was sposed to be a gathering for laura tonight, lauren. >> reporter: hey there, an anjali, we're at wilde lake high school where some of the same students that organized putting out missing flyers org in addition toed another gathering night to be called a ganlerring of hope it was officially cancelled and so many students and staff came out here anyway and some of them learned upon arriving that the body of their be loved teacher was

christmas day murder of mccallly aid queen johnson admitted raping and strngling her before stuffing the body in the back of her car and drive ago roun the city. five dna samples taken from the actresses body were exact match to johnson dna. johnson was ordered to wear an ankle bracelets in the days before the murder and mccallly's murder led to changes in the law on gps monitoring and added jail time for anyone who tampers with or removes one of those devices. johnson faces 30 years in prison. >> holy [bleep]. >> an update now on fairfax county police officer involved in a serious crash in falls church. the officer pleaded no contest to mcdonald's reckless dri driving. the officer was responding to disorderly conduct call in february when collided with a mini van at the interest section leesburg pike and patricken

weather headline. irma remnants will reach our area tomorrow. but that does not mean you need to be worried or afraid. it will feel like a typical summer day around here with a chance of some showers and maybe a rumble of thunder in the afternoon in the peak heating of the day. what's left of irma is now just an area of low pressure and it's going to be continuing its weakening process as it moves up to the pennsylvania area. but those showers will be crossing us during the day tomorrow and as the remnants move on in the humidity will continue and we'll have clouds to and it will be unsettled, very spotty showers in the morning. but a better chance for showers and rumble of thunder tomorrow afternoon. we're still only thinking quarter inp of rain or so. nothing you need to be worried about in any way. and i wanted to also mention that we are starting to see some foggy spots develop. it's not bad in many areas now. but, the further north you go you may find rather unexpected sudden visibility dropping to mile in frederick and i understand up towards north eastern maryland and
