call came in initially as a hostage call. someone from inside a home here behind me and this hey market neighborhood said they were being hold hostage. they went on to tell police this teenage boy had a bomb strapped to him. you can imagine what response was. you can see behind me there's still an active scene here when police arrive, we're told that this 15-year-old boy, he had a crowbar, was threatening family officers with it.tening police - that's when a police officer fired several shots striking the teen. the teen passed away. was deceased. now, it's still an active scene here in this hey market neighborhood. we did speak with a young man who knows the teenager. here's what he had to say. >> i used to see him around, he walked around, kept to himself a lot. pretty quiet. i would see him at the pool a lot. with friends, but that was really it. but i would never think something like this would happen to

>> reporter: now, that is a young man who knows the victim. he has an older 18-year-old brother, a 15-year-old boy was shot by prince william's county police. we're told he did have a crowbar, he was threatening family members and police with this crowbar, we have learned that there is not body camera in these incidents. the officers that were involved did not have body cameras. they have not received them yet. we're told the department is expected to have everyone have the body cameras by the end of the year. that was not the situation in this case. again, police responded to this area here in the 6800 block of heart sell lane hill at hey market, they remain hours later trying to piece together exactly what happened. they've been going door to door, speaking with

residents trying to put together exactly what went wrong. >> he does live here in this community. he was outside of his residence at the time of the incident. like i said we're still trying to put the actual situation together to determine what led up to this incident and this interaction between the officer and the 15-year-old male. >> during that encounter, the male resident, the male, who we later identified as a 15-year-old male, he bran dish add crowbar and then began to actively and aggressively approach the officers. >> reporter: now, the road here remains closed. parents were asked to pick up their little ones at market ridge and also hyatts way. hey market elementary school and also reagan middle school,

students told this they heard about what happened as they were leaving school. police remain in the area and continues investigation. tisha lewis fox 5 local news. the case of catherine hoggle and her two missing children taken a new twist. woman is facing murder charged after deing indicted by a grandchildren >> she's been held in a mental hospital appeared in court where she was ordered held without bond. paul wagner live in rockville with that story. >> reporter: we were in the courtroom today when catherine hoggle appeared via that closed circuit television link. she said her name to the judge. when the judge asked her how she was doing, she said ok. we did not hear anything further from her after that. the judge then ordered her continued to be held at clifton t perkins hospital where she's been living the last three years. he ordered another mental health evaluation. one of

years that they've had for her. now, the whereabouts of the children still unknown today. three years later. but today, states attorney john john mccarthy said he believes the children are dead and so do the children's father >> catherine murdered my children and i hope sarah and jacob get the justice they deserved. i've held out hope that something else may have happened as i think that any parent would. it's been a faint hope and i know now with the passage of time that catherine killed my babies. >> reporter: in the fall of 2014, catherine hoggle disappeared with two young children, 2-year-old jacob and three-year-old sarah. several days later, police found her walking alone. she refused to tell investigators where they were and he was charged with neglect

a second person was stabbed and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. police say the suspect also stabbed himself. and he's now being held without bond. the man accused of murdering a teenager boy in georgetown is under arrest. captured in morgantown west virginia after u.s. he's accused of killing someone back in july. once he's charged he will be taken back to dc. new tonight a missouri hundreds of protesters hitting the streets in st. louis aged a former police officer has been found not guilty. many protesters locking arms. at least one man was arrested. the verdict former st. louis officer jason stockily acquitted in the 2011 murder of anthony lamar smith. he waived his right to a jury trial leaving that decision up to the judge. stockily accused of shooting smith f

not quite. beautiful shot, the wonderful blue skies an nice day, few weekend stray showers head our way, temperatures on rise, heading to the 80's with the little bit of humidity it will get sticky, we'll have that sticking around, we're watching jose and tropical depression 14 in the atlantic. i want to say there's been changes with that as well. we have clouds for tonight, mostly cloudy skies. what we're dealing with is the remnants of irma a low pressure system over england, a trailing trough associated that happens to be over the midatlantic and so for us, we're seeing temperatures starting to heat up a little bit, that moisture flow still in place. we're looking at maybe a stray shower for tonight, steak same for rest of the weekend. we're not talking total wash-out

keep in mind ridge of high pressure we'll see a fair amount of sunshine, heating up to the 80's, mid 80's, those will be stick, around on the seven-day forecast. here is jose which is a category 1 hurricane. it has intensified, has the ability to do that over the next couple of days, maximum sustained wind at 75, here's tropical depression 14, not doing a whole lot. we're going to watch it closely. it may or may not develop. but as far as jose is concerned we'll watch closely as it starts to move to the north northeast and wondering how close it may come to the coastal area to have the u.s. we can't rule out that. we don't feel the effects and once again it will depends if the track shifts. once we get to tuesday, we'll keep an eye on it and see how it develops, and we're develop can see this cone of uncertainty with it and see if it starts to shift more towards the west. all the models are in pretty good agreement as to where it will go and that sometimes to be the track
