down the frederick fair yesterday. ing a cultural officials say almost a dozen pigs tested positive for swine flu and last week, fox 5 brought you a store offing your in the hospital. >> angelie hemphill this is frightening for parents taking their kids to the fair. it's sad to learn about this. >> reporter: but i can tell you it is still too early to tell if anybody will be directly affected. a total of 11 pigs having tested positive for swine flu and they are being quantified on the property. it's still early to tell if this can be passed oh and to humans. of take a look at this video of the swine barn on the property currently surrounded by yellow tape and guarded by securings. there are currently more than 50 pigs kept

people and animals and they have to stay there seven days, the great frederick fair had to close down early on saturday for the first time in their 155 year history, because of pig in their swine barn started showing signs of being sick. a veterinarian said 11 pigs tested positive for swine flu and it was shutdown. it will be several days inially test result comes back on whether or not this strain can be passed oh and to humans. we simply just don't know. but we did speak to a member of the fair's board of directors who tells me they have been informed of a child taken to a local hospital showing flu like systems >> two questions were asked. was the child at the fair. the answer was yes. was the child in the swine barn? the answer was yes. at that point, we don't know anything more tan that. if something came from another area, it could have been brought

angelie hemphill, fox 5 local news. the search is underway for a killer in prince george's county. police say two men were found shot inside an apartment building early this morning, along the 9300 oh block of cherry hill road in college park. the victims were taken to the hospital. where one of them was pronounced dead. no word on the condition of the second man. anyone with information is asked to call the prince george's county police department. . police in alexandria are still investigating after a three-year-old boy was hit by a car and killed. it happened yesterday on executive avenue. investigators say the driver of the suv that struck the child did stay on scene, and still unclear whether the driver will be facing charges. so far police have not identified the victim. police in montgomery county say that they have located a missing woman tonight. there was concern when 55-year-old maureen o'malley was supposed to show up for work but never arrived. her condition and how she was found unclear. >> coming up.

76 at annapolis and we've got 68 at winchester, 71 at dulles this hour, to the south, 70 at fredericksberg. take a look at the national map. cold front look at this. really giving a very distinct division, here's where temperatures are in the 30's and the 40's. while we are basking, so to speak, in the 70's at this hour of the night. so a real big difference, we will see that frontal system heading our way and we will get cooler air moving in as we head to the end of the week. in the meantime, overnight lows under clear skies, temperatures into the 60's and the 70's, a pretty light wind and keeping a close eye on transporters still things are firing up there. now, lee is a system that developed around the 17th of september, ended up as a low pressure system then 24 hours ago reorganized and it is now a category 1 hurricane. good news, it's not expected to be any threat to land whatsoever. keeping an eye on maria.

hour, we'll have another update in the next hour and we're looking at as we can see it's a pretty big storm. going to make its way to the north, heading to the u.s. coast and if you take a look it will take a pretty big turn heading out to sea. the cone of uncertainty is what we're watching closely, the outer rain bands and the wind feel will be pretty massive. we could see areas affected from the outer banks to the virginia border, i can't rule out southeastern portions of our area into southern maryland, might get wind gusts once we get into tuesday, wednesday and thursday with this and that we may also get maybe a light shower or two, as that system moves its way to the north and we are definitely going to go see clouds from it. just bears watching. here's a look at futurecast. once we get to monday, tuesday, you can see how the rain bands are starting to move on to land and you can see how that cloud area is also pushing its way a

major hurricane, storm surge up the chesapeake bay. reagan national airport bowling air force and for the nare's could take on massive flooding. >> the university of maryland explains >> the flooding would continue where the levy is, and that could affect the monument, it could get to the mall. it could get all the way to the back yards of the white house. >> reporter: part of levy that crosses 17th street has to be manual approached. it's roughly ten feet above street level, 19 above sea level but if we were to see excess of 13 to 16 feet, the water would begin to loop around essentially leaving the monument on an island. >>
