howard county a man killed in a car crash in clarksville this morning was d.c. police officer. barry eastman of ellicott city four year veteran of the department. his car was headed north on route 32 when crossed double-yellow line and hit a tractor-trailer southbound side. eastman was killed instantly and the driver of the truck was not hurt. new tonight leesburg a family continues to grieve after finding out their loved one was stabbed to death by his son allegedly. >> hector anthony flores is accused of murdering his father. kristin leon spoke to the family about the relationship and kristin is live tonight in leesburg with more. tim and marina we're told the 28-year-old suspect was living with his father in his father's unit you see behind me here and we also learn today that he served in the military. as far as the relationship goes between father and son the family tells us that there were not any major sichbz trouble at least that they

go into specifics what happened. there as far as criminal history goes, when "fox5" when we went to go look up the criminal history for flores jr. we could not find anything on him. louvr police tell us his father flores seniors the was at one point charged with domestic assault. they did not go into specifics about that arrest. in leesburg this evening, kristin leon, "fox5 local news". friend and family are gathering until the district today to remember a teen shot and killed last week. >> this afternoon they turned out for a vigil thorough good marshall in southeast to remember zier kelly. live in southeast with more is evan lambert. >> jim, marina, that celebration of lifeer is main joy is going on now inside thorough good marshall academy where 16-year-old zier kelly was a students. he just started his you senior year at the school. i was inside about 15 or 20 minutes ago and at that point one of the

zier's coaches was speaking about the standout student and standout athlete kelly was. kelly is a twin. and just to bring you back to what happened. d.c. police say last week, last wednesday night kelly was walking home from a convenience store in northeast not far from his home, 13 street northeast near downing street northeast when a 19-year-old suspect came up and tried to attack him. tried to rob him according to d.c. police. d.c. police say zier had a pocket knife and tried defending himself h he was able to stab that attacker but the attacker according to police was able to shoot kelly and both zier kelly and the suspect died of their injuries at the hospital. so, you can imagine that this community is feeling that loss extremely hard for by all accounts the student who was a standout in every way. faculty, classmates, had

speaking about this loss to the community and kelly was planning to attend florida a&m university and he was also a track athlete. and as i mentioned, his basketball coach was speaking about him not too long ago. one of the points he made was that basketball was not ke kelly's main sport. he was a track athlete and he refused to give up and was relentless and played phone the basketball team and became quite a good player as well. so, as you can imagine, this community still reeling from the loss of this 16-year-old who police say was defending himself from a robbery attempt when he was shot and killed in northeast. there is another vigil planned for tonight at 7:00 near the scene of at texted robbery and shooting so we'll have a crew there and bring you the latest at 10:00. live in southeast, evan lambert, "fox5 local news". >> a suspicious fire where a

satellite picture. it's a little lopsided looking there's more on right side than left side. a bit of wind sheer developing on that side of it still cat one scary to have it that close. i also want to mention we're tracking two systems. not only is hurricane maria out here but category lee no threat to land. we won't spend much time on lee. sorry about that. we'll spoke us on maria with window 0 miles an hour moving slowly north at 7 and forecast it take a quick and hard right turn by the time we get to wednesday or thursday. so that is a good sign and the reason it's going it make dramatic turn is the strong front that is coming our way on thursday. with the cool air behind it is really going to get it on the move. by this time tomorrow or wednesday it should be a tropical storm. it's close enough to hatteras and outer banks they have tropical alerts out there. in fact tropical storm warnings you see in blue here and those

>> we're learning more about the man charged in yesterday's deadly shooting at a church in narcoticville, tennessee. police records show suspected shooter emmanuel sam son expressed suicidal thoughts in june and had a stormy relationship with a woman where police were called. sam son shot and killed a whom who was leaving church service and walked into the building and opened fire and six people were injured and police say a church usher confronted sam son and was pistol whipped. sam son shot himself and he was not seriously wounded and church members told investigators sam son attended service there's a year or two ago. >> and this man is held as hero tonight after a man was suspected after car writing out and and presented suspect 25-year-old emmanuel -- also suffered injuries after pistol whipped.
