first wife had two children during that time he work at esquire magazine eventually q quitting and scraping together $10,000 to start playboy. he publish the first issue of playboy with a nude marilyn monroe on the cover forty one there it was history. the chief creative officer of playboy magazine and his son cooper released this statement. my father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer an leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom. >> i think that i spent a good part of my life and playboy itself was dedicated to the notion of questioning some of the pure are you tan repression so much part of the american history. >> hef got a divorce before moving out west in the '70's where he bought the 22,000 square foot house in los angeles that became home base for

people are not for the president's tax proposal. but there is support for changing the system. almost 40% support a complete overall of the tax system and majority of voters favor a system that would lower taxes on small business in the middle class. president now continuing to try to drum up support for the tax overhaul but democrats as you might expect quick to criticize. >> we will ensure that the benefits are focused on the middle class, the working men and women, not the highest income earners. >> the top rate on the wealthiest comes down and the bottom rate on working class families goes up. what kind of plan is this? >> at this point details of the tack reform plan are intentionally vague so it's not clear what the full impact of the reform would be. president trump says there are enough votes to pass the measure right now that highest tax

sentenced to 75 years on produce after admitting to producing child important. work at judge sylvania woods elementary school. he has not guilty to state charges. >> two separate investigations into hateful messages posted on the campuses of two d.c. universities. this morning police at american university as well as georgetown are teaming up with metro police and are looking into these troubling incidents. our melanie alnwick is live at american university this morning where the investigation is underway. so where do things stand, mel? >> reporter: good morning guys. so where it stands right now is we know we have video of a suspect. the big question is, au police are calling this a bias crime. it's not clear yet if what happened here rises to the legal standard of a hate crime. well get to that in just a minute. also interesting that this happened these posters were around campus hammed just after the university celebrated the launch of its new anti racist

university le leaderrings here absolutely believe the two are connected. let's show you video of the suspect that they were able to put out to the media this man is dressed as a construction wo worker. he's wearing a hard hat, gloves an safety vest. police estimate he's in his 40 as little under 6 feet tall carrying some kind of a briefcase. university police say the suspect hung ten flyers with a picture of the confederate flag then taped cotton stalks on them. these were around campus tuesday night. they red haas czar for dixie and i wish i was in the land of cotton au student people the eagle reported that the words d.c. counter resistance were printed on the back that's important because in august a group using the same name and the same symbol you're about to see that right here papered parts of ward four with posters that counsel member brandon todd said were zen know phobic and hostile. dc police are looking into those as well. now across town at georgetown university, there's been

least two reports of antisemitic graffiti. the school noticed similar patterns they foal they're getting close here. they've also increased patrols in campus and residential areas. dc police looking into that incident as well. and here at au, you may recall that last year we had some incidents with bananas tied with nooses and also some students who were reported bananas thrown at them at the beginning of the school year. american university says in response to that of course they did put out surveillance video. they don't have suspect in that case just yet but they did increase cameras boy about 200 surveillance cameras they also increased patrols they believe that those surveillance cameras had something to do with them being able to show suspect in this case but again the big question yes these flyers are at this point classified as biased incident. but so far university police said they haven't made a determination as to whether it is a hate crime. live at american university melanie alnwick fox5

this story. the woman that you see in this video if you look at it now it's 46-year-old anila. she's being forcibly removed off the plane much this is southwest airlines flight out of bwi airport trying to get to la to see her father who is in surgery. you can hear in this video her yelling i'm a professor, don't touch me and you can also hear the officer shouting back at her to walk out the plane. even frustrated passengers are yelling for her to get off and the crew apparently did spend quite some time trying to get his woman to leave the plane and the flight was delayed by at least half an hour. now, what led up to this heated moment is basically the woman she asked the night crew that two dogs be removed from the plane because she has a life-threatening allergy to d dogs. southwest says she couldn't provide any medical documentation. she also did not have an epipen and so as part of their policy she was asked to leave the plane because they just couldn't

they asked her several times. she refused. and one of the dogs i think it's important to mention was a service dog and the crew had informed her that they cannot remove the dog. so unlike on the airline passengers we've seen gone viral after being roughly removed this woman really is not receiving the support or sympathy online and even from the people that we have spoken with out here as many questioning her behavior including the man who shot this video. take listen. >> the police were -- were being overly aggressive but really they -- sean giving them much a choice. >> don't touch me. >> just get off the plane. i mean the reality is there's going to be pets on every main. there's pet hair on every person. i mean, she's causing a disturbance. a service animal depending on the disability they're loud everywhere now. they're allowed in restaurant, grocery stores, everything like that. >> reporter:

erin como back with a check of the other stories making headlines this morning. >> thank you very much, wis. and first up, it's bizarre south florida cold case murder and it's now solved. take look at the screen right there. sheila warren was arrested in virginia this week investigators say back in 1990 warren dressed up like a clown with flowers and balloons and shot her current husband's ex-wife. when she answered the door the woman died and police never made an arrest. years passed by in 22014 the cold case was reopened. police retested dna evidence leading to warren's arrest. trump is no stranger to social media and today the president is updating his relationship status with facebook. the president is calling the social networking site anti trump. trump took to twitter to say facebook was always anti trump while questioning collusion this comes aft facebook says it would provide materials to congressional investigators probing russia interference in the 2016 election. well another dubious

>> but not lauren. instead she set out to help the homeless and hungry in her community and around the country and she did it with the unique skill. ♪ >> when lauren turned 29 last september, she set a lofty goal. she was going to feed 3,000 meals to the homeless and hungry by her next birthday. but when that goal was met in just a month, she set a higher one. incredibly she was now determined to feed 30,000 meals by her 30th birthday. >> so everybody is like lauren you're crazy. that's going to be insane. >> reporter: not for lauren. in fact she blew through that second goal too. >> we were able to meet the 30,000 mark six months after september, and then by my birthday, we double it. >> reporter: the new jersey native has always had a heart for the homeless. so when she moved to woodbridge, virginia, and found a make shift community of people living

right in and sad asked how she could help. >> they said we needed food. >> that next weekend i brought them food it was snowing and they told meo, it will be about 50 people. but like 200 people showed up. >> hi, my name is layer lauren. >> lauren kept showing up to. >> i kept doing that on continual weekly basis and then i was like, wait. the numbers are growing and this is really expensive and i can't afforded to it any more. and that's when i was introduced to couponing. >> and it paid off big type. clipping thousands of coupons allowed her to save thousands of dollars. and by the time her 30th birthday rolled around, she had surpassed even her own expectations. >> roughly under $2,000 for 65,000 meals. >> she says couponing has been her golden ticket it appears her couponing is contagious as the whole prince william community is eager to help. >> various hoa associations, football teams, girl scouts, they donate all their inserts to me, and

♪ all right. the countdown has begun for the last few weeks we've been learning dyi tricks and hacks for local real had the show housewife and mom. real housewives of potomac monique samuels she's launching her mommy blog and website called not for lazy moms and for the last few weeks she's been life empty lost sharing some of the tips and tricks she's learned as wife and a mom of t two. this week she's here to dish on her unique way of potty training. good morning. we're happy you're here. >> i'm happy to be here. >> how old are your kids. two and four. potty trained over night since a-year-old. d

>> they do not wear any diapers or pull ups. they sleep with pajamas and during the day they wear their underwear and they let me know when they have to go. >> a lot of people are going that's impossible there's no way and definitely lot of people that's also not healthy. so kind of take me through what you do why do you it why you believe in it. >> for me it's more of introduction. i don't force my kids to use the potty and then i'm like, you know, like you have to go when i tell you to go. no it has to be relaxed and i start with this one here. when they're six months old as soon as they're able to sit up, i introduce it by timing how often they start off with the post how often they go after they have a meal. so my daughter and my son both were within the ten to 15 minute range. so as soon as i knew the time was about to come up i would sit my baby on the potty and as soon as they went, i would go crazy. we made up a song. and then from there, they started getting the hang of it. >> there's big trend, though, a lot of medical professionals and a lot of child experts wil

really it shouldn't be you introducing them to it you shall let the child introduce the topic to you when they're ready. >> right. >> they'll let you know that they want to potty train. >> naturally babies don't like to sit in mess. most times when you take a diaper off of a baby that's when you'll get them peeing on you or anything like that because they naturally don't want it on them. so what diapers do it's so sash bant they can't feel they're messing on themselves i use clothe diapers my kids like to be clean. as soon as they -- as soon as they go, as soon as i put them on the potty it was almost like oh, i don't have to mess on myself i can actually go in here and it was up to me as the parent to make sure that i was able to sit them on the potty. i traveled with this in the car. they would give me their signs and cues. my son was seven months old and he would go, i'd literally pull over, take my little potty seat outlet him go on the potty and then put him back in the car and they started getting the hang of it. >> in order to do this you have to be able to do it instantaneously. >> yes. good because medical experts do say that you --

teaching a child to potty training or anyone to potty training teaching them to hold it. >> right. you don't want them to do. >> that's when it becomes medically a problem for children that are so young. >> right. if you do it at this age you have to be able to do it consistently. >> um-hmm. >> you also have to make sure that you don't make the child feel like they did something wrong. if they do mess themselves. we're not looking for perfect we're looking for the intro duke by the time my kids were a year ago they would go and let me know when they had to go. they never that had to hold it. >> i read an article this morning. having child younger than three be in charge of their toilet habits is as smart as having that same child be in charge of their college fun at that age. [ laughter ] >> because, you know, it just -- their bladder is not fully developed at that point and so if you're teaching them to hold it or not, he sees a lot of cases where these like potty prodigies now all of a sudden later at five, six, whatever, they've done damage to their

it or they're having bed wetting problems. >> the key not to teach them to hold it. it's just teaching them where they shall go and if they have an accident it's okay. >> you're saying it's analogous to have a dog and training a puppy and you're teaching them to go on the little fake green carpet or teaching them to go outside. literally like that. >> not hold it you want them to let you know that this is now when they're going. >> yes. also even my friends who i've given tips to who have kids that stastarted at younger -- let's y a later age, i would tell them, let your child walk around the house if you're at home, let them wear underwear. so they can feel when they're going. if your child has an accident and they ut-oh mommy i wet myself that's when they're ready. they recognizing they just went on themselves and they don't want to be dirty i had friend whose daughter was two years old i told her but underwear on her. and she did it and aft two weeks her daughter was fully potty trained not even wetting overnight. it's all about just paying attention to your child. >> i think two more people would un. six months i think some people are like, you have to have the

if you start at that young age you have to have the time i was a stay at home mom at the time i was able to really hone in on whenever they had to go and they would give me their cues and never had to hold it. >> maybe we shouldn't say it's not for lazy moms. just that for moms that have the time because there are a lost moms that have to work and they're not going to be able to do this. >> for them the next phase would be this potty seat my kids used when they got little older, and they were over a-year-old when they were using this one. they can go to it themselves but you won -- you would travel with this at that time. if you can and do you have the time, but if not, let them wear little underwear around the house if they make an accident, show them where to go and eventually they'll catch on. >> all right. monique always good to see you. >> not for lazy moms launches objection 30th and she'll be back in to give us more child rearing tips. the whole potty thing i'm so glad eye i have a boy. it's so much easier. >> don't touch anything. >> thank you. >> right
