one on one with the star as he talks about filming the scene where he plays three people at once. your news starts now. off the top here, federal investigators continue to uncover dramatic new details about the last vagues asthmas car and the gunman behind it all . perhaps the most l chilling development is that steve paddock appears to have scoped out other targets. investigators say paddock booked a hotel room in chicago overlook ing the site where another music festival was taking place, but paddock did not who he upment they believe he also booked a room near another show on the vague as strip and possibly researched locations in boston. however, his motive remains a mystery. again again, begun control is another hot topic, bump stops which perform like fully

fall threw as gas can at a driver on an x2 bus near 14th and h streets in northeast. the attack is just the latest in a spike in assaults on metro bus drivers. today transit workers gathered to demand changes to improve safety for them and riders. fox5's lindsay watts is live with what's being done. lindsay. >>reporter: tony, after that gathering today of metro workers and union leaders, we went to d.c. council members to find out would they support making all assaults on transit workers automatic felonies and what we found out is that at least two d.c. council members are already working on legislation that would do just that. it has been open season on transit workers at metro. there have been 67 assaults on bus drivers so far this year according to metro. on september 15, two operators were threatened with gunsment on october 3 an operator had a knife pulled on him. a

course there was the woman who threw urine on her driver an attack considered only a misdemeanor. in some city ts all assaults on bus drivers are considered felony offense he. so we are proposing legislation called the transit act of 2017. wants the increased penalties to protect drivers in the district when their lives are in jeopardy equally yours is in jeopardy. we have to make sure we put ramificationses in place to protect the worker. i'll be interest seducing a bill shortly that does that. council member and metro board chairman jack evans has the same idea. we let him know about weitz' plan. i didn't know he was, so i'll reach out to tray on and well and see if we can work on something together. it's incumbent upon us to think of ways to protect our service work ers. while the union also wants to see the change in maryland and virginia they especially want d.c. leaders to act because the

line has been such a problem. we know we can't stop every a sawcialghts every crime. we know it, but there has to be something done to curtail this to bring those numbers down. tonight mayor muriel bowser's office couldn't tell us whether specifically she would support this legislation, but we do know she has been an advocate in the past for stricter penalties for people who commit crimes on public transportation. now there were some additional demands by metro union leaders today. they say that they are wanting to he see more police on buses. they want metro toen state a policy that allow for a ban or suspension of problematic riders. they also want fare boxes to be relocated and a public campaign regarding paying fare because what they're saying is that a lot of disputes arise from people refusing to pay their fare. we're live in northwest, lindsay watts, fox5 local news. >> new tonight from montgomery county, a man under arrest

nursing home back in 2015. >> we turn to fairfax county where a 26 year old mother is under arrest for leaving her three young children in a hot car while she was at work. alexis facultative certificate son's children are five, six and seven years old. investigators say they found the kids inside a car in falls church on tuesday suffering from heat exhaustion. temperatures inside the car topped 150 greece. today we spoke to facultative certificate son's employer who is an immigration attorneyment he said she had recently started working for him as a filing clerkment she just recently moved here. i this i that her children were not enrolled in school. her babysitting fell threw. her lease just started. her babysitting fell through and i think she probably thought that she could keep the kids with her in the car as she went back and forth to court. don't get me wrong, it was terrible judgment, but i accident think she would be out of the car for that long. >> fauk son now faces three counts of felony charges to

court. tonight nearly release cellphone video between a fairfax county county parks employee and a wedding caterer. it comes a day after a jury found chem p bonds found him not guilty in the death of jones last august. bonds was work the grounds at a wedding at a park in chantilly. johns was a ithacaerer at the event. the whole thing was reportedly over who owned the chairs used during the ceremony. the video shows johns approaching bonds moments before she was stabbed. i'm going to knock you out. what. huh, boy. you stabbed me.

arbitrary mean spirited and awful end to daca by the trump administration. >> what do you do with people who have broken our laws. if there's 11 million, 12 million people here legally, why do some people get to stay and some don't. that's always the the quawnd dry. daca itself will not expire until march 5 of next year. attorney general jeff sessions is reversing course on a law that protects transgender people from discrimination. in a letter to us attorneys sessions said the justice department will no longer interpret title seven of the civil rights act to include discrimination based on general diser identity tsm the protection was initially introduced under the obama administration. the american civil liberties union slammed the decision calling it another low point for the justice department. d.c.'s attorney general sayses he will not appeal a court ruling striking down parts of the city's gun laws. that means it will soon be easier for

district to get concealed carry permits. in july, a federal appeals court ruled that a rgs post office of the city's gun regulations infringed on residents' second amendment rights. the resident acquired d.c. residents to show a good reason to have a gun. the requirement resulted in only about 120 people having a permit to carry a concealed handgun in the district. if we were to lose this case before the supreme court it is true that the district of columbia worried i think for good reason that gun s might flow not only from the south, illegal guns, but also from the northment so that was a fact omplet the attorney general went onto say that the decision not to appeal was based on the possibility of that other good reason laws in four other states could be put in jep disi virginia voters may be the first to make their voices heard on gun control as the issue takes on new urgency following sunday 's shooting in las vegas. next month r

center of education statistics looked at students who began their undergraduate education in 2003 and defaulted on at least one loan over the next 12 years 52 percent of the students who attended for profit schools de faulted on their loan. that's compared to 17 percent for those who attended a four-year public institution and 26 percent at community colleges. wells fargo plans to refund customers who were charged extra fees on their morgue jessments the bank said it will refund customers who paid fees to extend interest rate locks between september 2013 and february 2017 . in a statement the bank said its rate lock extension policy was, quote, at times not consistently applied. the bank said it would reach out to customers and start issuing refunds towards the end of this year. aaa is without with a new report saying that in your cars that many come with all the bell s and whistles might be part of the problem. it turns out all

annapolis, 63 annapolis, 71 in hagerstown, tomorrow morning won't be as cool as the past few mornings. we definitely started the workweek off kind of chilly showing a front towards our north has brought some clouds and showers across portion of pennsylvania. we had some showers across extreme pennsylvania early this evening the front is going to stay north of us. it's kind of stuck up there. it's stalled and so that means our weather for the next couple of days kind of similar to today. not a lot of movement in the weather pattern. with that front north of us we'll continue to have this warm weather and a little humid, too i noticed that earlier not so much right now at night but there is a touch of humidity in the air making it feel just a little bit warmer. it's certainly warm enough on its own for tomorrow, friday. it'sing whying to feel like september, high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. the kids don't need a jacket tomorrow morning, maybe in some of our more out lying. temperatures are right around six of 30-degrees and quickly warming and after school forget bit.

weather to carry us over into the weekend. temperatures in the mid 80s. let's get back to tropical storm nate. it's hard to really find the center of it, but it's within this circle right here. it's on the east coast of honduras where it's kind of been this evening and it's expected to move northward back into the western carribean it has brought tropical storm conditions to parts of nick nicaragua and hon duras and up to the ukee can peninsula. they are also under trop l california storm warnings as nate makes its north, northwest movement. at about 12 miles an hour and you can see the center of circulation on northeastern coast of honduras. it is expected to strengthen in the warm open warm and then it's out into the golf, a wide expansive water that's still pretty warm and we do expect this to strept en into a hurricane. a lot can happen during this time it might strengthen even more. it might not. it's hard to tell
