morning a half inch more in many areas. frankly, we could have usede more rain. as you well know we had near record setting stretch of dry air. so, most ever the remnants now with what is post tropical nate is up over the new england area. they're getting good rain out of it as well. we did have damaging thunderstorms in north carolina last night and some tornado warnings. western north carolina got a hard hit with nate as did biloxi mississippi. but, in the wake of the passage of this storm it's drag ago long a huge envelope of tropical air and tropical humidity. and it's 85 degrees right now. that's not the heat index. that's the actual temperature. it's 87 in quantico. frederick, maryland, are you 88 degrees. this is crazy humid. and uncomfortably hot. we wanted to show you dew point temperatures. measure of humidity in the air you may as well be in tropics and that's where nate picked up a tropical

there's a tropical storm ophelia nor near land. sarah, jim, over to you. >> d.c. police are asking for your help in identifying two people investigators say were involved in three violent robberies in northwest. >> all of them happened yesterday morning in columbia heights and mount pleasant. paul wagner live with more on this story, paul. hey, guys, these robberies bombered d.c. police so much that the violent nature of them they were able to get photographs of the two suspects out very, very quickly. 7 people were targeted within two hours here in the mount pleasant and columbia heights neighborhoods. three of 7 people were assaulted. let's show you these photographs now. see if you can help police identify them. d.c. police released these photographs within hours of the attacks and investigators would like to you take a very close look.

there's two picture of the man witnesses say was armed with a knife. and his accomplice who witnesses say stood by as assault and robberies went down. but apparently did nothing. she then ran with the man. either down the street or to a waiting car after each of these robberies take a look at the car. witnesses say it may be a up in day sonata a. it's unclear if there was third acomplication waiting for the robbyes to go down. within two hours in the 1700 block of 13, 1 and monroe and 1 and quincy the pair robbed seven different people of c cash, phones, backpack, credit cards and keys. witnesses say the robberies were violent with a man pushing two women to the ground and threatening them with a night. one of those robberies took place right here at 13 and monroe. northwest, and it was second three robberies. this man again pulling a knife and pushing a woman to the

and florida. let's check in with sue who is back from the louisiana area too. >> we i was down in new orleans sarah plans to go there for a wedding an poor bride had to scramble but the truth of matter is new orleans was very much spared any kind of big impact from nate. luckily. they did have hurricane warnings up and they had curfewed and prepared for it and they never panished and i think that's what you find in an area hit hard as it was with hurricane katrina. they take it seriously and don't panic until told they have to evacuate. nate was able to shift a little bit east and move sog fast it really could not strengthen. and that rain we had this morning in late last night was from nate and luckily for us, this speedy movement spared us from a lot of rotation or even flash flooding as result of speedy movement and the fact it did not get stronger than category one. it has produced damage and yesterday there were a number of reports of tornadoes especially across

carolinas and that's always my fear with the systems as they come through. and for the time being we're not seeing anything showing up on radar. although we will keep a chance of shower in the forecast. going forward later tonight. we needed rain as you well know. and i wanted you to see that our 24 hour rain totals good, not fantastic, picked up anywhere from inch to inch and quarter in northern suburbs. you can see where the green area is. but the rest of us only about a half inp of rain. we can use more and will lookly get more in the wednesday, thursday time period.. maybe even on friday. and but, also want todd show you they definitely had da damage. 15 reports of tornadoes yesterday and none today and mostly last night we had tornado warnings fly ago cotion western north carolina and western south carolina. and a lot of trees down including even up there in new england as what does now post tropical nate less that a depression really moving on away. also want todd show you that in addition to nate we're keeping an eye on this. this is tropical storm ophelia

or threat to try to cause bodily harm and injury this student. while one of the students in this case ended up telling the other student that they were talking about, what was happening, showing that student, again what took place online. and that student ended up telling the administration. there was joint investigation between administration and county sheriff's office and this is is the latest coming out this investigation. there is insufficient evidence according to the county sheriff office to press criminal charges in this case sosomely not enough evidence to charge or criminally charge these groups of students here this group of students. so that is latest and they referenced code of virginia here i'm going to reference that right now so they mentioned how they're very few statutes that criminalize speech i'm are oral or written and that the lou criminalizing threats of death or bodily injury does not require that the threats of
