found on a local college campus plus more turf trouble with failing fields in the district. the news at ten starts right now . first tonight a maryland karate under arrest accused of sexually abusing a teenage student. police believe there could be more victims. tonight parents and students gathered at buck ready academy to support the instructor because they don't believe the allegations against him. linda situate watts is live. >>reporter: i've never seen a show of support quite like this after an allegation of child sex abuse. of earlier tonight about two dozen car root ' students, parents and employees gathered here along with the accused, frank peug rita a's wife. she was here as well. they made signs, they were comforting each other. and everyone we talked to said these al a gas stations cannot be true police say differently

killing. sarah simmons joins us now with the latest. >>reporter: shawn, nie we have learned the victim is jenny rivera lopez of annapolis. the 21 year old went missing alt the end of june and they found her body nearly two weeks ago. this is the picture t of the flyer when she orange fly went missing . charges say slee was beaten to death and then buried in a secret grave. police have charged five people with her murder. last week police held a news conference to t announce charges had been filed, but the chief did not provide details on who the victims were, where the bodies were found or the names of suspects. police have only said multiple people have been arrested. we don't know if at this point rivera lopez is among the victims in that news conference or if this is a separate case altogether. police have not identified which gang was involvedded if these killings at this point. b

are learning a little more about the suspects arrested and charg ed in rivera lopez' murder. they include four men and one woman. they range in age from 19 to 25. two of the suspects are from silver springs. one is from annapolis, another is from edgewater and it's unclear right now where the fifth suspect is from. of course shawn we'll continue to stay on top of this developing story. indeed, thank you, sarah. >> a police stop in virginia turned into a police chase that ended with a krarn in the district. late this afternoon arlington police tried to pull over a volkswagen jetta with two men inside. the driver didn't storntion continued into d.c., park police tried to pull the car over but they say the driver kept going. investigators say the car continued for three miles without a front tire. hit several cars along the way. it finally stopped here on connecticut avenue in upton street in northwest. police ar rested one man, the other was taken away in an ambulance. we have new details tonight in the death of abuy woman who

fields pose posed to the athletes. evan lambert is live tonight with the first look the at those reports. >>reporter: we wanted to know the exact results of those hardness tests the city does on turf fields. when officials told us 16 fields failed the tests they wouldn't give us the numbers. now we have them as a result of a public records request. fox5 has obtained this spreadsheet with the hardness testing results of the city's 52 artificial turf fields. it's called a g max test and essentially measures how much absorption is measured by the field versus the athlete's body it's done by a group called the american society group of test ing materials. it can be reduced if the g maximum is under 200. even the nfl maintains a standard of of less than 165. a 52 artificial fields tested this year in the district two tested a above 200g max exper

based on 19606s research. those fields, january i elementary and oyster elementary were replaced by city. but seven tests tested above 1656. several of those fields were repaired by the city , but two hardy middle school and a palisades rec center with not repaired or replacedded. even the vendor the city used to replace several fields in recent weeks says a field should never exceed 165. dr. andrew mack knit runs penn state's university turf grass science department. he says he's encouraged by the city's testing. i want to commend the sit sti for having a limit and going out and testing. you would be shocked at how uncommon that is in other municipalities across the united states. he warnings there isn't enough science to backup minor differences in g max numbers. he says the difference between 199 and 200

hope what happens in the future is that everybody realizes that if the fields are maintainedded properly that you you can keep these g max numbers even blow 1656. the question many parents have is is it safe to play on a field blow 200, but above one of five? district officials haven't answered that question. and in a statement to fox5 the department of general services which manages the fields says in part dgs adheres to the industry standards as set forth by the american society for testing and materials international. which establishes a g p max value of 200 for the maximum allowable limit for safety while other entity ts may offer recommendations, dgs recommends the international standards set forth by astm international. dg s \may\may reconsider the 200 standard for hardness. a work ing group meets tomorrow on the issue. there is also a public hearing on

scary incident happened a little after five:30 p.m. on sunday inside this local supermarket you see behind me. the supermarket local to the woodbridge community. police say this man here on your screen , 32 year old ricardo rodriquez was sitting next to the eight year old in the waiting area inside when he began to lift up her shirt and tried to unbutton her pants. she screamed right away and ran to gram her parents who were at this moneygram at the time. he took off and we're told the girl 's father tried to chase him down. the store owner says he turned over surveillance video of rodriquez to police and they caught him not too long after the incident took place. he also told us today that h this scary situation was eye opening for everyone involved and that it could have turned out much worse than how it did. it's a big lesson for us

we're really warm tonight and yes, those due point temperatures still at or above 70 in many places. last night this was closer to 76. so it is better, but that's not why we're in the cooling off very much. tomorrow morning i think you'll notice the difference, 64 to fl, which is not exactly cool, but it would be clammy. we should have some showers around, but maybe a little bit of fog. notice this of a school, not much budge as this marine layer starts to build in. that's ocean air coming in on east winds. that will different give a different feel to tomorrow's weather. showers beginning to show up. this is an area of low pressure that is going to ride a long a weak stalled frontal boundary. more are beginning to grow and we see a few more out in the valley areas and all of that will begin to get a little bit more expansive and we get closer to morning. the cool down comes from the ocean direction. the east winds will be transporting in that marine layer and this w
