connection. ♪ let's check the morning briefing now. first up the president's tax plan. president heading to pennsylvania later today to push a major overhaul tax reform. but his real problem may be in washington. democrats putting up a fight in the gop is divide on the overhaul. getting it through congress will be extremely challenging for the white house especially with a continuing feud between the president and gop senator bob corker who's a big player on the budget committee. the president is trying to shake off questions about another shake up in the white house. there are rumors swirling around the idea that he might fire his chief of staff john kelly. president trump took to sweater to address this and said this story is totally made up by the dishonest media the chief is doing fantastic job for me and more importantly for the usa. >> some members of congress former nfl players and capital police officers will all be hitting the field for a good cause today. because tonight is the congressional football game. but it takes on new meaning as it comes four months as the shooting at the congressional baseball

scalise back at work he has physically recovered but the tone of today's matchup is clear. i talked to several people out here and they say this game must go on no matter what. it's important, it's on-going sign of unity, comradery it's also loads of fun, and the members of congress out here practicing drills and stretching and sweating it out. you might be looking at some of that video right now but they all had smiles on their faces. they were also giving each other high fives and it was just wonderful to see. now, during half time, i want to show you these two pictures of david bailey and crystal greiner in will be a special presentation by congressman steve scalise to the special agents who -- just acting heroic until day. they saved many lives on ju june 14th at the baseball practice. they confronted the gunman and shot the gunman. they will be honored in a very special way tonight at the game during the half time presentation. this game was started back in 2005 because of a 98 shooting,

>> welcome back. new details still expanding harvey weinstein sexual assault scandal. more of his 11 victims coming forward now and weinstein's wife wife speaking out. late last last night his wife announced she's leaving him of ten years. the 41-year-old mother and nation designer says his behavior is unforgivable and her heart breaks for all of the women who is have you ever had tremendous women. a dozen women have gone public of their story accusing weinstein of unwanted sexual advances. >> including angelina jolie and gwyneth paltrow. when she was

tried to lure her into giving him a massage in a hotel. angelina jolie told similar story weinstein harassed her earl until her career and made unwanted advances to do her. he denies the allegations there's newly released audio from 2015 weinstein is confronted by model who says he groped her. the recording was made by police investigating the model's cl claims. just listen. >> as you can imagine some hollywood actors are speaking out actor matt damon has collaborated with weinstein for years did not know about weinstein's behavior. damon saying he feels quote absolutely sick to my stomach. and we're taking closer look at some of the unanswered questions here surrounding the scandal. dr. jay singh joins us via skype this morning and as always thanks for being with us dr.

>> so the question people are asking why did it take these women so long to come forward? >> you know i completely understand. maureen this is something that so difficult to be able to talk about because current statistics sup suggest one in three american workplaces during the course of their careers are going to become the victims sexual harassment many of them end up there's no way out. only one half of all of these cases actualy results in any charges. in many cases when they're brought forward in some cases if they're not handled correctly employment can be terminated on one or the other side. a lot of people just feel that this harassment is something that is normal in the workplace which is absolutely not so far as it should not be a lot of people end up feeling like they won't be believed or if they are believed that it's going to tarnish their reputation personally or professionally. >> so a lot of people are saying they knew of harvey

ways they heard rumors. why now? why are we all of a sudden seeing this blow up in such major way and people willing to come forward to say, yes, it happened to me, too? have we changed as a society we're now we're more willing to talk about and what has happened that sort of has led to this openness if you will? >> there's something maureen called bystander apathy effect and search wal that means is you can have tons of individuals who are victims of a crime and essentially no one comes forward because they believe someone else is going to come forward with this and because of that i don't need to be the one to place myself in that the spotlight and in the end because every single individual has this same cognitive style, no one ends upcoming forward. this is why there's so much bravery on beef of the individual who's did end upcoming forward. it reminds me of the allegations against bill cosby where, you know, again had been so many rumors and then all of a sudden a few people start to tal

ability to make it intense for the audience so they almost get immersed in it so you actually don't know the out come as a viewer? >> that's great. i'm glad you think that, because it's -- that's think one of the biggest challenges for a story like this, because you need to -- another one of of the challenge social security to keep people's attention when it's just one person on screen for the majority of the film. and you need to feel all of the elements that went into his eight days up there and to be able to kind of portray that and to give people that feeling in the course of an hour and a half or an hour and 45 minutes is very difficult for a film maker to pull off and luckily scott wall the director was really up for the challenge and felt kind of emotional attachment to the story because he knew eric they used to play hockey together when they were kids, and so when this script came to him it was like -- it was him having to tell the story of a guy that he's known for long

it was very personal to him. he took on the challenge. everybody took on the challenge. we had a lot of great people working on it who decided to do it nor nothing and give it their best shot. >> josh, i want to ask this is not going to be quiet as much of a cerebral question perhaps what kevin just asked. when it came to actually filming this first of all, how much time did you spend with eric to get his take on things? and second of all, how much did you did you have to work on your snowboarding game and be in the elements itself to get this movie done? >> we did -- die do significant amount of snowboard brag we started because eric, you know, eric mandated it. i had been snowboarding but he said, i was pretty good. you got to get up there and train. i was like all right. and so i spent about two week. it's not very -- that's not something an actor really turns down. >> no. >> two weeks of rehearsal time just to go up up on mountain and snowboard. i'll take that. so i -- i spent about two weeks in the mountains where we shot

just was up on the mountain every day. and on top of that, just the physical demands of being an athlete which eric was at the highest level, um, i needed to train as well and in that regard. >> then on top of it eric lost a ton of weight while he was filming -- while he was -- while he was on the mountain and so while we were filming i had to also kind of mimic that by losing a significant amount of weight and that was -- that was probably the most difficult part of filming. >> let me ask you this, josh. >> i want to try to get into the head an actor here, josh. you're filming this out in the elements out on mountain it's not the best conditions for to you be in. was there ever a point where you thought, i'm ready to call it a day. i'm ready for them to yell cut and get some warmth somewhere. at the same time you knew what eric is going through. did you have have those tho thoughts. this dude did this for eight days. i can get through one. >> well, i mean, yeah, it

you never could compare your experience to the experience of the person you're portraying, because we getting to home at the end of every day and get in a hot bath or take a hot shower and eat some food. and that was not something eric had the luxury of and i think, yeah, i never tried to compare our situations, and luckily it was kind of prepared for what we were going into. scott and i the director had spent a lot of time talking about what it was going to be like up there and i obviously grew up in minnesota which is very cold place. so i had the concept of what the environment was going to be like already. sort of lock in. so i wasn't -- i felt like we pushed ourselves, and we tried to felt story as hahn neverly as possible, and kind of give people the feeling of it, i put as much into it as possible. but i never felt like i was doing anything near what eric went through, and we just wanted to make it feel correct and i think it does. i think scott really pull it o

>> i've been working on this project about two and a half years. i fell in love witness vision monty had and to be waterfront was dream of mine to have restaurant on the water and what better to be in d.c. my new hometown on the water with a french restaurant drink some wines, have some food v good time. >> what really tucker was talking about this with you earlier. what really makes this different? because this is number 12 for you, right? >> yup. >> with isabella eatery being number 13 at tysons coming in november. what makes this one unique and different from everything else do you? >> i think this is probably going to be the most high end restaurant, full blown like modern french little bit more modern technique and very very beautifully designed and i wanted to focus on service. big wine program. really seasonal food. and just having a beautiful view when you're eating great food and having great drinks. >> does it make you nervous at all when you look in there right now just to see everyone working and thinking i'm doing private event tonight, i'm opening to the public kind of tomorrow. >> yeah, i'm very stressed right
