county's first arrest happened wednesday, 37-year-old gabriel del val of baltimore county now marched with involuntary manslaughter with the death of a 27-year-old man in january. investigators say they showed up to a house off home land road in as dina for an overdose pass on january 10th. they did everything they could to save the man even giving him narcan. however, it was too late. however, now more than nine months later, and with the hard work of the heroin task force apartnership with other local law enforcement as well as the state's attorney's office, they've been able to track d down downington. and charge him with the death. investigators say because of the growing opioid problem, they're now taking the same steps taken at crime scene to try and track down that su

l'enfant. this is fox 5 local news news at 5:00. a court hearing for a man accused of killing a stein-year-old muslim girl during ramadan spun into chaos today, the victim's parents had a very emotional outburst in the courtroom >> evan lambert is live with details on what happened in there today. evan? >> reporter: jim, 22-year-old darwin torres what you having his preliminary hearing this afternoon at the fairfax county courthouse and a lawyer for the family of the victim confirmed to fox 5 that the parents got extremely emotional upon seeing the accused killer in court. they had an outburst. of fairfax county deputies having to respond to the courthouse and have extra security after that outbreak. you're looking at video of that and of friends of nabra's who came to the courthouse to show support for her family of. according to several reports,

murder victim shouted at the accused killer, 22-year-old danger win martinez torres. at one point, witnesses the mother of the victim shout she would kill him and threw a shoe at him. martinez torres waived his rights to a preliminary hearing. meaning it will go to a grand jury. that will decide if it goes to trial. he's accused of attacking hassanen with a bat and killing her in june after teens she was walking with got into an argument, ice officials have said the suspect is believed to be in the country illegal logical. nabra's father and attorneys spoke outside the courthouse this afternoon. >> we're looking for justice for nabra, all of us we come here today, justice for nabra. we have seen how hard it feels

>> reporter: congratulations. for you to be here and to be a part of this walk and this event, what is that like for you? >> probably one of the most amazing experiences to have all of the current patients survivors, people here in memory of people they've lost and all of the supporters here for one cause, and that's to get rid of cancer >> she has a lantern and there will be three different colors that will be here tonight that we will see that will light had the night. quite literally later and for you, as a survivor, when you see all of these lanterns lifted up in air, what is that moment like for you? >> it is surreal. i get goose, bumps when i see it. i'm one of the lucky ones. >> reporter: we have a great night. i know it look as little cloudy, overcast. you've been through much worse from the weather standpoint on these walks haven't you >> yes, i have. is this great. just hold off on the rain and

>> reporter: when when everybody comes together in an event like this, it's obviously about finding a cure but about raising funds to help find funds to find the cure. and you've been great at that as well. now, i know it's a lot of work in a short amount of time. you're also a corporate funds razor in addition to a survivor and a walker >> we generally start in august, we've raised almost 13,000 this year, over the years we've raised over $100,0. i've been a bright light for the last five years, as has my son. so we just, you know, it's an important cause and i want more people to know about it and raise money, donate, let's find a cure together. >> how many people are on your team >> 124. >> reporter: that is just one team and $13,000 is just the funds raised by one team. we'll have so many teams here tonight. we're expecting several thousand and the money ads up expected to be
