>> ♪ >> amped up on this friday. i'm jim, your final five tonight. congress now gets to tackle the iran nuclear deal. democrats respond to the presidents actions on healthcare. the people of puerto rico get reassurance fema isn't go anywhere soon. good news, the president says we're allowed to say merry christmas. it's a couple months away though. let's get things started as we talk about the iran nuclear deal. it's been the news we've been expecting, the president saying he will not recertify that iran is complying with the deal. >> i am announcing today that we cannot and will not make this certification. we

path whose predictable conclusion is more violence, more terror and the very real threat of iran's nuclear breakout. that is why i am directing my administration to work closely with congress and our allies to address the deal's many serious flaws. >> so you may say what does this mean? well, decertification doesn't mean the u.s. is pulling out. it kicks the issue to congress and gives them the task of trying to figure out what to do next. the president also says he has a strategy for iran moving forward. >> first, we will work with our allies to counter the regime's destabilizing activity and support terrorists proxies in the region. second, we will place additional sanctions on the regime to block their financing of terror. third, we will address the

regime's proliferation of missiles and weapons that threaten its neighbors, global trade and freedom of navigation and finally we will deny the regime all paths to a nuclear weapon. >> you heard the president mention p about working with our allies. the uk russia france china germany the eu are all part of the agreements. the british german french governs say they were concerned. the others say they will stick by the agreement. iran said the deal is much stronger than the president thinks and iran will still live up to its end of the bargain. democrats are criticizing the decision saying the president is putting americans in danger. >> the president is ignoring the overwhelming consensus of nuclear scientists national security experts, generals and his own cabinet including

defense and the secretary of state. the fact is iran remains in compliance with the nuclear agreement. if they did not we would not be supporting certification. >> congress has 60 days to make changes. president trump says if lawmakers can't get it done he's going to scrap the deal completely. the big story has been healthcare. yesterday the president took two different steps that will dismantle parts of the af affordable care act. >> i think what we'll do is we'll be able to renegotiate so that everybody gets -- we just took care of a big chunk and now we'll take care of the other chunk. what would be nice if the democratic leaders could come over to the white house, we'll negotiate some deal that's good for everybody, that's what i'd like. >> of course the president hasn't been able to get his own party on the same page when it comes

he wrote on twitter writing the democrats obamacare is imploding. massive subsidies to their pet insurance has stopped and dems should call me to fix. the democrats say the moves are aimed at causing obamacare to implode. first was the executive order allowing businesses to buy cheaper bare bone insurance plans across state lines. that will cause obamacare premiums to rise because that gives younger healthier people the incentive to leave the obamacare marketplace for those plans. they don't need the big plans, they're healthier. they want to spend money on other things. the payments the government makes to insurers that cover co-pays for lower income obamacare enrollees. they're already hiking premiums for 2018. democrats say the changes will hurt lower and middle income families. >> the gop will try to blame the affordable care act but they have purposefully

brazenly cruelly and spitefully acted to sabotage the law and the healthcare it provides. >> now as for the subsidies the president is ending the white house says it was doing it because they were unawful. the attorneys general of many states claim ending the payments is also unlawful. 18 states already suing the trump administration in an effort to stop him from scrapping those subsidies. yesterday the president caused a stir with a string of tweets about puerto rico that ended with this one, we cannot keep fema, the military and the first responders who have been amazing under the most difficult circumstances in puerto rico forever. that had a a lot of people concerned he was planning on pulling fema out of puerto rico. right now we're only three and a half weeks out from the storm. there are still americans there without power and running water. today the president appeared to walk back those tweets from yesterday pledging help for disaster victims. >> we also stand with the millions of people who have suffered from the massive fires which are right now raging in california

catastrophic hurricanes along the gulf coast in puerto rico, the virgin islands and i will tell you i left texas and i left florida and i left louisiana and i went to puerto rico and i met with the president of the virgin islands. these are people that are incredible people, they've suffered gravely and we'll be there. >> so a lot of people are quick to point out the president said he talked to the president of the virgin islands. president trump is the president of the u.s. virgin islands and the official transcript the white house corrected to it say governor but you saw the tape which really gives you an indication of what he meant. the president also used twitter today to reassure people of puerto rico saying the wonderful people of puerto rico with their unmatched spirit know how bad things were before the h's, hurricanes. i will always be with them. moving to the russia investigation special counsel robert muller's team interviewed reince preibus. priebus' attorney says he was happy to answer the questions

voluntary. he left his job after a shakeup. sean spicer went goodbye, anthony scaramucci went goodbye. priebus left. and there are also developments in the congressional investigations into russia's meddling in the election. former un ambassador samantha powers met with members of the house intelligence committee. powers made requests to identify americans whose names came up in foreign intelligence reporting or you probably heard the term many times unmasking those reports that power was into doing this almost daily. some republicans have questioned the motives behind the unmasking. >> ccan't go into the numbers i can just tell you there's no evidence she did anything improper. >> did she do anything improper. >> not going to comment on that. >> this comes as lawmakers look at reacting

the issue is that the agency also ends up collecting data of an unknown number of americans so lawmakers have to get something done on that specific section of fisa before the end of the year. >> the bill contains new accountability and transparency requirements to address the unmasking of u.s. person identities which has been a source of great concern for many members and their constituents. >> now if congress stumbles to take care of those reforms, congress stumbling, never, it is likely key members from both parties will push for an extension. we'll see what happens moving ahead with that. but a lot of attention paid to that. have you noticed nobody seems to be saying merry christmas. i bet you haven't heard that phrase in months. during the president's appearance today at the values voters summit he declared the war on christmas to finally be over. >> wre

beautiful christmas season that people don't talk about any more. they don't use the word christmas because it's not politically correct. you go to department stores and they'll say happy new year and they'll say other things and it will be red, they'll have it painted but they don't say, well, guess what, we're saying merry christmas again. chunk of hollywood. joining me to discuss this tonight is reputation expert eric shiver. there's been all this attention paid to harvey weinstein but hollywood at large there's a big backlash it seems. the reputation of hollywood. tell me what's at stake. >> it's bad. you have a lot of people scrambling because there's been deep associations to weinstein over the years. he's been part of some of the biggest movies and hollywood, it's a relationship business. and so you make your money as a producer, an actor, talent because of the relationships as much as your talent and so many people are tied to him and so they're scrambling. everyone under the sun, anyone from a major producer to a studio head to talent and they're all trying to figure out what to do. many have responded slowly. i mean, you

ben affleck who plays batman. batman would have responded. [laughter] >> so, you got damon, you know, matt damon who was jason bourne. jason bourne would have come out of hiding faster than matt damon. so, you have these situations where people are -- they don't know how to play it and i think the best thing is always to do the right thing and i think many are condemning it and -- which is great. >> uh-huh. so, you mentioned about, you know, the delay in getting out there and making some sort of proclamation that you're against it. i think everybody out there regardless of who you are, where you stand, what your political leanings are, it behooves you to come out in front and condemn this guy. i mean, the facts are out there. he's pretty much admitted to it. he says he's not in a good place. >> yeah, no question. look, this is one of the few areas today in, you know, this incredibly difficult partisan

democrats and republicans that agree on something here. i think they both condemn, they both find the behavior disgusting, which it is, and certainly, look, weinstein himself says it is. so, i definitely think you're going to see changes that will happen short term in hollywood that will rise out of this. but the problem is i don't think it's going to last. i think you're going to see the same old types of behaviors because it's human, this is a frailty, unless you're working on yourself, unless you're really sure and you have these type of problems you're going to continue them. >> eric we focus on politics on this show and you mentioned off the top about the democrats and their association with harvey weinstein through the years. is this, you know -- is the fury behind this and it's justifiable fury but is it flamed by the fact that it gives people cover to say,

hollywood, this exposes what hollywood is and primarily you look at hillary clinton, you look at the democrats, you know, were they complicit through the years whether knowingly or unknowingly? >> this has been an open secret. so, i think anyone that's been involved in hollywood has heard this. now, whether they have firsthand knowledge, whether they know someone directly that was involved, so i think that many democrats that were close to weinstein are going to have to account. and -- but here's the thing. i think republicans have their own challenges with individuals that have had human frailties and have been certainly on the receiving end of a lot of allegations. so, i don't think it's only, you know, democrats but democrats are paying a price. and look, most people on the left are disgusted by this as well. i don't think that you're seeing anyone that's stepping
