university, national museum of african-american history and culture and construction site in southeast d.c. and covtton middle school. new tonight a major break in a deadly shooting in southeast d.c.. police arrested michael jones of bladeensburg first degree murder charges they say he shot and killed omar rogers earlier this month near the union bar and grill. rogers younger brother you see on the left is shawn savoy a football standout at virginia tech. >> a d.c. woman was sentenced to ten years 23 prison for beating her boyfriend to de death. thomas bennett was charged with volts for kilting walter clark in february. he was found unconscious in a closet with trauma to his body. according to court documents denet told police she beat clark with a baseball bat over a two day period. because he made her smoke a street drug. we have an update now on the investigation of a body found in anne arrundel cou

country. sky fox was over the scene of a park in shady side maryland wednesday afternoon. investigators now say the victim is white or asian female. the victim went missing in the last year and there is still no word on identity nor a cause of death. >> a baltimore man is in police custody tonight charged in the deadly stabbing of a student on the campus of eastern shore college during homecoming weekend four years ago. police arrested 25-year-old devante braxton university of maryland eastern shore today. she stabbed is 21-year-old edmund st. claire to death in february of 2013. and after a group of people started fighting on the campus. investigators say dna linked braxton to the murder. >> to fairfax virginia now where an 18-year-old man is recovering tonight after police say he fell some 40 feet on to rocks at great falls park. we're told the teen was taken to a hospital for treatment. he is expected to recover.

"fox5" lauren lauren has been following the story all day and joins us live from the scene with the latest, lauren. >> tone yirk the teenager a 16-year-old boy sholt from behind. and neighbors here in he c cannington said there's a lot of concerns lately about the the area particularly about this intersection right here where this happened. and i the shooting occurred just after 4 p.m. this afternoon. the boy was conscious and breathe when taken to the hospital. so fortunately, he is is expected to survive. and this forensics team along with at least three k-9 units were out at third and t stleets afternoon and while

semi-automatic gun and that person was arrested and still no arrests in the shooting. police but out a lookout for two black males dressed in all black with hair styles described as twists. they were in a greyhound awith virginia tags and this is a busy neighborhood just about a block from mckinnley tech high school and people who live here are very upset and frightened. no one we spoke with wanted to be identified. >> i heard a couple of loud shots that i thought to myself, oh, that sounds like gun shots thou though it's disheartening and sad to hear about a 16-year-old shot and how does that impact them and then also, this neighborhood, you can see look around, there are families walking a round, and there are single ladies and people from all different types of background and people should be able to feel safe in a neighborhood. and this comes after just last month a block away on second street a woman was attackeded out of in our. she showed

"fox5" report and said a group of ten type age girls came from her from behind and knocked her to the ground and kicked and punched her. this hooingt has many concerned about a increase in violence. >> this corner in particular the neighborhood had identified as problematic and we really dish went to the last he cannington civic association meeting and i think we were hoping for a little more of a response and little more presence here in the neighborhood and i'm just sorry to see that. something more violent had to happen in this immediate area. >> reporter: and as we were saying, this shooting today comes on the heels of two deadly shootings involving teenagers since august in northeast. so, people here really on e edge. and that woman, who was at attacked last month, on second street, came by the scene here today. she did not want to talk on camera again and gave gave me this flier she's been happeneding out to her f

she created this herself. there's information of how to get in contact with different police officers and civic association and then there's also information about the security camera rebate program that d.c. officers. she's really encouraging her neighbors to get their own security cameras to police themselves and asking police to put a crime camera here at 3 and t street northeast hoping to see some change. that's the latest in northeast, back to you in the studio. >> and also in the district tonight a long awaited study on d.c. police body worn cameras has come up with surprising results. the two yearlong study focused on 2200 police officers and sergeant. hoof had cameras and other half did no. the study found that officers wearing body cameras reported using force about as often as the officers who were not. however, not everyone agrees with the results. >> we have to think about what originally drove city around the country to get body cameras. those
