found guilty of assaults his wife and stepson, two years later. he received a bad conduct discharge from the military. the air force failed to alert the fbi about kelley's violent past even though it was required to do so. if it had a criminal background check might have stopped him from getting the weapons. after the first shots aneighbor and former nra instructor grabbed his rival and confronted kelley. he got into a vehicle and sped off, willford jumped into johnny langendorff trump and both chased after kelley who eventually crashed his vehicle. >> i did what i did because it was the right thing to do. i hope that the families and everyone affected in this community hope they're able to sleep a little better at night knowing this man is dead and won't hurt anyone else. it does not bring complete justice but it does bring

lafayette park and detained him. we're told he was not armed with a weapon at the time. they took him to the police department, he's charged with making felony threats. tony. new tonight, dc police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own, it happened just before 7:00 on tubman road in southeast. we're told an off-duty police officer fired shots during a robbery in progress, no reported injuries. unclear if a suspect is in custody. a toddler is in critical condition tonight after he was found unconscious in a bathtub at a house in sterling. sheriff's deputies responded to a house on winding branch terrace, paramedics flew him to a hospital where detectives interviewed his parents, it is not clear how the toddler was hurt. at this point, no charges have been filed. now not a bad day but changes in the forecast >> cooler and

the next two days, looking kind of wet a chilly rain tomorrow, 52 degrees and that's the dc temperature. many suburban areas will stay in the upper 40's for high temperatures. compare that to the 70 we hit today. wednesday we have lighter showers but similar temperatures will be pretty chilly. we'll jump you to the futurecasts at the showers we have, i'll pause this at 9:00 in the morning and most areas are dry but the futurecast is pushing that rain in maybe as close by as front royal and all the way out to cumberland and morgantown you'll be starting to see that rain take it to the noon area, rain overspread the area and you see these areas indicating we have a moderate rain and sleet mixing in some of the colder spots and the higher elevations, take this oh 5:00. a lot of moderate rain, the evening rush is probably going to take a little extra time even taking this f
