police is one of the striking vehicles, but they believe potentially there is another vehicle involved p in this. that's why they need any help they can to get a clearer picture of what happened. this happened just around six:40 this evening and i have with me captain thomas daidone of the montgomery county police and we're going to ask a couple questions here. captain, can you tell me what leads you to believe that another car may have been involved in this? >> well, we started interviewing witnesses and when we have collisions of this nature in the dark we don't want to rule out any option. >> and the importance to you guy s is getting information from witnesses. were there any witnesses on scene and if there weren't anybody who saw anything what should they do. >> well, there are people that were interviewed on this scene, but we want to gets as many information, if he we can, any witnesses that saw anything, people driving by at the time and of course if there's anybody that knowsor

investigators on the scenement according to police they believe it was some sort of dispute between the victim as well as the suspects. that eventually led to gunfire. sources tell fox fox5 was shot time in the stomach transported immediately to a trauma center where he underwent surgery and tonight he remains in critical condition. metro transit polices on called to the scene. there was a metro bus that was nearby at the time of the shooting and officers there hoping they were able to download some sort off surveillance video that will provide clues as to who may have shot the teenager. at this point we are looking for anyone in the area who may have observed individuals in the area occupying a black vehicle. we're unsure if it was a two door or four door but with dark windows occupied by at least two mails. we are in a stage of emergency with the crime. we

slammed into several parked cars near the us naval academy in annapolis. the crash happened this afternoon on green bring point road. investigators believe the driver was speeding, lost control, hit five parked cars at the naval academy golf course. the driver died at the hospital. no one else was hurt that crash tonight is still under investigation. it's a story we first told you you about on fox5, allegations of grade manipulates imtion in prince george's county public schools and now a grade ought it showing some students are not meeting graduation requirements in the county. the audit found nearly 30 percent of a sample of students either weren't eligible to grad on it or their eligibility were uncertain. they got to weigh in on results in front of school board members . we also asked governor larry hogan about whether school officials have been transparent throughout this pros. i was not only outraged aut

students from our region joined forces with dreamers from all across the country. they're urging lawmakers to craft legislation to help dreamers this year. congress is de bathing whether to provide permanent status for young immigrants who came to the country as children. they heard about remarks that house speaker paul ryan about his timeline for a solution. we have until, i believe, march is the deadline we have with the president. i don't think there's really any need to have artificial deadlines within the one we already have. we want a permanent solution. we want it nowment we want it this year. and this is a call to all congress that they must act now as you heard h, the congress has until march of h this year to find a permanent solution. new tonight at ten, a popular service dog program at walter reed and fort belvoir has been told to close up shop immediate ly. there are a lot of questions tonight about why the federal government decided to shut them down and we're

waiting for some of those de tails. but fox5's lauren demarco headed out to the train ing facility in boidz, maryland to fiend out more. the founder of warrior k9 connection is heartbroken tonight. he says the work the service members do with these dogs is just in valuable and he doesn't understand why the program has been cut. warrior k9 connection is a two-fold operation. they provide service dogs for disabled veterans, but the dogs are trained by military warriors suffering from ptsd. what we find is that through learning how to train these dogs they're actually -- we're actually able to retrain them to go from reactive to patient, to go from emotionally numb to a motive. and the key to this is that it's experience al. you you don't want patients from reading in the book, you learn patients from practicing it. rick yawnt founded the nonprofit and says

extremely beneficialment they will stretch themselves quite a bit for the sake of helping ear vet and we can get them to take the dogs out in public. sometimes for the first time in years because they're focusing on the dog and the needs of the vet who is going to need that dog eventually. he estimates since 2008 they've trained and placed close to 5,000 service dogs through fort belvoir and walter reed national military center. they had a subcontract with mz consulting through 2019 but on friday afternoon we're slapped with a stop work order from the federal government. everybody i've talked to doesn't understand why this action was taken. jawnt says more than a hundred dogs and service members were in the middle of training. they reached out for an splaition, so far no response. but md consulting was told the military treatment facility director wanted on go a different direction. there were no

this is fox5 local news at ten: 30. an off the top at 10679 . thirty an update on the breaking news out of montgomery county. a deadly car crash. this happened on route 29 and hill wood drive. evan lambert is live on the scene tonight. evan. >>reporter: sarah, investigator s calling this a possible hit and run. they believe potentially more than one car was involved. one car did stop and try to help that victim, but the victim, an adult female did not survive. they're asking anybody that was in the area around the time around six: 40 tonight to give them a call. any witnesses that may have seen anything, that information is extremely valuable to

senate nominee roy mower is defending himself against allegations that he pursued a sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl when he was 32. these stem from a post. she say s mower first met her back in 1979 when she was with her mother outside of an alabama courtroom. at the time mower was an assistant attorney. he took him to his home many times the first time he kissed her and the second time he took off her shirt and pants and touched over her her underwear. >> they have called on mower to step aside if these allegations are true. and they're calling for sexual harassment training. they spoke to barbara comstock tonight on this issue. corey, what did she have to say about it. >>reporter: simply put she says she can't say for sure whether these issues as widespread as they are in hollywood, but she says if they are it could be like a dwam break with

multiple victims. we've seen people come out of the woodwork, whether it's harvey weinstein or anthony weiner or billow riley or, you know, all the other people we're hearing about, but we need to be on top of that, too and let our young girls know that when they're victims there are people ready to help them. it is not their fault when children are assaulted or become victims. >> comstock wants a new anonymous way for victims to report incidents. she also wants to see more training on the hill mandated for both staffers and members of congress much that's something that the senate passed tonight. we'll see if the house passes a similar resolution. now the other problem here is the extensive process that victims have to go through in order to report any allegations on in congress. it requires a 30-day counseling period. then another 30 day mediation period with the accused, finally the victim must
