shedding light on possible bad behavior by alabama senate candidate roy moore. we have team coverage on this this morning. kevin is following the latest from hollywood and the fallout for ck first we'll start it with mel 93 alnwick she joins us live now with the impact these stories are having on the hill. good morning to both of you. >> reporter: good morning. and dc has been called hollywood on the potomac but now lawmakers here on capitol hill are trying to put as much distance as they can between themselves and any sort of sexual harassment claims last night the senate voted to require sexual harassment training for lawmakers, staff and interns. can you believe they haven't even had this yet? look how many of us have had to go through mandatory sexual harassment training. well now it's going to happen in the senate. meanwhile as they are dealing with these accusations against gop senate candidate roy moore we're also seeing a bit of culture shift there to because we have top republican leaders now saying if these accusations are

step down even if it puts a republican senate seat in jeopardy. >> judge roy moore is controversial and provocative while he's the republican senate candidate for an alabama special election next month, his fellow republicans aren't mounting much of a dough fence. >> just with regard to roy moore, those stories are appalling, just appalling. >> devastating nasty story if the revelations, f that's true, i don't believe it would be anyplace for in the u.s. senate. >> reporter: washington post reports four women have come forward describing moore's conduct and propositions back when he was in his early 30s. the women ranged in age from 14 to 18 at the time. moore call the post story false and desperate tweeting, the obama clinton machine liberal media lap dogs launched the most vicious and nasty round of attacks against me i ever faced. president trump had

another republican for the seat and the strange says these are just allegations. >> however, the president also believes that if these allegations are true, judge moore will do the right thing and step aside. >> reporter: but if the allegations cost moore the senate seat in december 12th special election, it will put republicans in a bind. needing every senate vote they can muster to pass tax reform bite end of the year. >> i guess i just didn't see him being that way. >> reporter: but in alabama while some expressed surprise, others are not convinced. >> i just don't believe roy moore did that. >> reporter: so here's the tricky thing. it is too late at this point for roy moore's name to be removed from the ballot for that special election. that election again on dece december 12th. now if he is elected, there's couple of options here. the senate could choose not to see him or if he is seated the senate could vote to expel him but, again, given those political stakes it seems unlikely and then

like you said he's a remarkable person. so everybody who meets him wants to help him which is fan nass tick. >> that is true. and so he has been hitting city to city. my question, what are you feeding him to keep him going? what is keeping him going? is it you by his side? >> well, i hope so. but also he eats a lot. he eats 5,000 calories a day maybe more he's really struck with his diet he make sure he doesn't have too much sugar. and he eats the right time every day so settles before he needing to run or before sleeping and stuff. >> and so we have video guys of them leaving this morning around 7:00 o'clock. they got back from the first loop of seven and a half miles around 8:15. so good timing. he's actually making good timing in every city. even the average was four hours for the 26.2. and so they just meeted seven and a half. they left again for the loop two. that is also september and a half miles that's going to take them around fort mc henry ending with two loops of five and a half taking him to fed

a very scenic route of baltimore and so tomorrow is dc. how excited are you guys to hit d.c. on veterans day? >> i think excited but also i feel like it's going to be really emotional day for maybe not for rob he's kind of man of steel but me and his mom have been like close to tears on a number of occasions already on this trip just because how overwhelming it's been, and the support is just been unbelievable. >> how extra special that you all are doing this on, you know, close to veterans day but also the birthday of marine corps. 242nd year of the marine co corps. how special is that to your familiarly? >> it's so special and oy feel just so proud to have married into such an amazing brotherhood and sister hood like the marines are just -- they've got each other passes back. they don't even need to meet. they have each on the's back no matter what. rob's has hundreds probably thousands of marines come out and run with him so far. and only handful of him he's ever met before. they greet him like he's a brother to them. >> reporter: that's true also we had very special moment not too long ago commissioner kevin davis come out here and present rob with this special

now that you're essentially taking ownership of telling this story now. literally narrating the tv mo movie. but how are you with that? is it okay when you see now other people reenact wagon it was that you actually went through? >> it was a really big decision. one that i've been approached by many times over the years and i always said no, no, i just never fell like i can make myself vulnerable in that way. they say a picture is worth thousand words. well how many more is a movie? um, but i ultimately did decided to it because, well, i've been advocate for women and children for long time now. it's really important that, um, the public get an idea of what it is like to go through a kidnapping. what it is like to go through a rape and really understand how devastating it really is, and then if you come back and, if you survive and and come back and people start c

didn't you escape? you had every opportunity to. why didn't do you more? that is devastating in and of itself. no survivor deserves to be questioned like that because they don't hear the question, they hear the accusation, you should have tried harder. you should have done more. you should have gotten away. and it's terrifying as it is to come forward and say, i survived rape. i survived kidnapping. all survivors need support. all survivors need, um, love and having a caring community a compassionate people around t them. so my hope that in doing these projects that that will help promote that feeling win community. >> as these projects were going through and working on they will and watching the he had debts coming a and everything else, were you kind of viewing that and as a producer with that message in mind or were you looking at it like i want to make this as realistic as my recollection is of this or how did you approach the

whole? >> both. both. it was absolutely both. i knew -- why i said no for years because i didn't feel like anyone really could recreate what i went through. i mean how could anyone do that but i'm so proud and i'm so glad that i did do it because i think this is as close as anyone could get to doing the actual thing. during the actual filming and going over the scripts and all the steps along this journey, um, that was okay. i think i looked at it from a very -- is this accurate standpoint and from let's make this is as we possibly can sitting down and watching the finish version, it was terrifying. it was so well done. it was so accurate that it made me just think i never want to watch this ever again. >> wow. i want to ask you elizabeth just from your perspective because no one else can understand what it is like. you had your situation. othothers have had their situats when it comes t

years since, you mentioned earlier when people say why didn't you run. they question perhaps how you handled that situation. in your personal recovery from that over these last 15 years when you hear people say that, does that hurt the recovery process? do you use that as strength to help the recovery process? how do you deal with the negative? >> no, that certainly hurt. i mean i had already been through a lot, and so then to have -- and while i was going through it i felt like i did absolutely everything i can to survive. i mean every decision i made was made with survival in mind. so then to have survived all of this -- all these terrible things and then to have people come along and say, well, why didn't you run? why didn't you do this? you should have done this. you should have done that. that is terrible much that is heartbreaking. that makes me feel like why would you say that? i did everything i could to survive and i did. be happy i'm here. be happy i did survive. and i

for victims across the board. i mean whether it is sexual violence or domestic abuse. that feeling is there across the board. >> last thing elizabeth i want to ask you this because it's been dominating the headlines lately. i know you're an activist. you know, for possible who have been abused. who have suffered abuse. when we see more and more every these big names now being named in connection with sexual is that so salt and harassment do you feel like now that more people are coming forward perhaps people are more empowered to come forward now? is this a good thing these stories are in the headlines now are bad thing we're learning how deep i guess some of thighs when it comes to power? >> no. i think it is a very good thing. being a victim of rape it's so easy to feel alone. so easy to folic this doesn't happen to lots every on the people and i think this shining a role light on that issue, because it does happen all the time. i mean, there are people that you know whether you know it or not, who have been raped.
