record about her experience, the 70-year-old denies the accusations. following more breaking flus. a gruesome discovery in montgomery county. police say a woman's body was found behind a dumpster in wheaton along university boulevard west near georgia avenue. this is just a few blocks away from where a young woman went missing this week. lindsay watts is live with the latest. >> reporter: i was just talking to police, investigators still can't say if the body found here is that missing woman. she was last seen leaving her work at kfc only a few blocks from here late moon. the body was found behind those dumpsters right next to a cvs. it was around 3:30 when police say that someone spotted the remains and called for help. police have been here ever since and you can see this large area they have blocked off. they have a mobile command center an mobile

multiple squad cars, we'll give you i was closer look at the scene now. police aren't giving too many details yet. they're calling this a suspicious death investigation, not a homicide at this point. they aren't saying anything about how this woman may have died. this is the largely hispanic area, people we've spoken to say there has been gang activity recently. something concerning especially now. >> does give me concern for men and women especially because many women here walk alone on the streets because they have 11 hour jobs and they come home just to feed their families. >> that young man asked that we not use his name. he says he knows the woman who's currently missing, 21-year-old dan ya mendez. they say she was you last seen leaving her job at kfc midnight monday to walk home. she never made it. missing posts have gone

we're told a lot of people have been searching for her. the young man we talked to said she doesn't know english and she's the mother of a toddler. police have not said one way or another if the body found today is duguara. it's something they're looking into considering the products tea of not only her work but her home. we'll let you know as soon as we have additional details, live in wheaton lindsay watts fox 5 local news tonight we're learning even more about that small plane that crashed a landed on the side of the highway in an run county. the pilot is in the marine corp, his two sons were on board when the engine failed. fox 5 cori coffin has been tracking the story all day. are they ok. >> reporter: thankfully they were able to walk away without needing medical treatment. the pilot has been identified as christopher curry, he's a marine corp pilot, he'

we also mentioned he's going to two young son, curry lives in odendton. according to maryland state police, curry departed the airport, and as he was trying to return he crash landed on route 50 in annapolis around 3:00. during the return flight, he reported the engine was rapidly losing r pms, he noticed smoke and had to make an emergency landing at that point. he was able to to do so on route 665's exit ramp of route 50 in annapolis. the airstrike clipped a light pole an guardrail tearing off the wing in the process. now, an administrator with the one world arrow, that's the company who rented out the plane to curry. tells me that those wings are designed to rip away fairly easy to keep the passenger compartment in tact and safe. sort of leak a crumple zone on vehicles 90 of a car crash, it

their lives tonight. the federal aviation administration and national transportation safety board are now investigating, which is standard protocol, now, other pilots i suffolk say it's difficult to perform an emergency landing in a single engine plane. because at that point, you're just gliding. they any curry must have been very talented to make that happen. i spoke with his family and they did not want to go on camera but say are very relieved to have that man and his two young sons walk away unharmed. the mother of a charles county public school student is demanding change, she said carlos bell, the former middle school assistant, accused of sexually abusing more than 40 students also victimized her child. she didn't want to be identified but demanding school district improve screening and staff training, and filing a $1 million lawsuit. the school says it's too early to comment.

bell's trial is set to begin next year. update on a story, dc's department of transportation denied the request of an elderly couple with limited mobility to reserve a hand capped parking space in front of her home, fox 5 learned there are spots on their block for people deceased. the agency said there still is no need to issue a request for a disabled permit on their street because they have a parking space behind their home. the anc commissioner told us the city needs to do better. >> there's been no follow-up from ddot to figure out if the person whose have reserved parking permit signs out in front of their house still apply. if it's still valid for them to have the parking permit in front of their house and so d dot has done no follow-up really to this matter, and essentially they're expecting the community at large to call and report a matter to

said once the agency is informed about a death they rescind parking permits and signage. new tonight, used to be a common site on the washington monument grounds, sports teams gathering to play a variety of games, but nash park service wants to put an end to this tradition, the monument grounds closed for recreational use this year, so the turf could be restored. when the project is completed next year, the service wants to ban teams from the grounds. other changes could also be in store. fox 5 brody logan reports >> it's one of the coolest things about living in dc, get to play sports in the shadow of things like the washington monument, but if a proposal from the national park service goes through, that will be no more. previously, sports teams and leagues were able to take up space on the national mall around the washington monument in this area, for as low as $7 per game

then after the grounds were tilled up by the cleats and the playing from kick, ball, soccer, softball. national park service has said no more, they had to close this area right here around the wonderful and through to 2018, there will be no more sports here because of all the work they had to do. if you want to take a permit, you'll have to get a permit now for sports on the national mall. it's going to cost $30 plus a registration fee for one hour up to $70 per game for two hours of play. now, there are a lot of leagues that do sports out here. dc kick ball, various other, i reached out to them for comment. they have not to get end back to us, they charge league fees over $100 sometimes only oh handful of games, they were only paying $7 per game. now, this is because the registration and everything to play on these

baltimore, we got 30 at dulles, 27 a lot cooler at manassas, culpeper and at winchester and 28 at martinsberg. take a look at the national temperature map because we're not alone. look at this, three quarters of the country really into this cold arctic air mass as it continues to dive its way down across the area and we're going to feel the worse once we get into the night hours, especially by tomorrow. so tonight, freeze warning in effect through until saturday morning, so any vegetation you have outside that's sensitive you really need to protect it. winds anywhere from about three to 15 miles an hour. going to pick up. we're talking roughly up to about maybe 20 but the thing is they're coming from the north, bringing that cold air down, you factor in the winds and the air temperatures, and you get your windchill. that's what it actually to feels like when you step outside. right now feels like it's only 19 at gaithersburg, look at th

frederick. that's a good indication of where we're headed teens and 20's. things will stay clear because we have a ridge of high pressure in control. however, once we get to sunday, monday, we're dealing with an upper level trough and the possibility of a coastal low. which could give southern maryland rainfall and that could reach our area and that's what we're talking about with a slight chance of showers for monday morning and sunday night. overnight lows into the 20's, windchills in the teens. here's a look at the records, because we could be breaking low records before this weekend is over, so we'll watch this closely. these records set back in 1901 of 1973. meantime we're looking at overnight lows into the 20's, forecast windchills here we go, morning hours will be in the teens, be prepared for that.
