video of a robbery at a maryland fast food restaurant and how you can help police track her down. and taking big brother to a whole new level. reaction to the newly approved digital pill that helps dr.s keep track of when you take your medication. the news at ten starts right now . first hollywood, now capital hill, splessive new allegations of sexual misconduct were revealed today about congressional leaders. jackie spears says she knows of at least two members of congress who have engaged in sexual harassment, but she dwee cliend to name them. fox5's lindsay watts is on the hill tonight. do we have any clue as to who these congressional members might be? >>reporter: that's the question , tony and shawn. i reached out to congress woman spears fs office tonight and found out she will not be naming names because the victims have asked her not to and that's due to the fact that they signed non disis closure statements. i was talking

was a lot of talk about who these two members of congress are, but at this point no answers. we have found out more about why these people may never be exposed. at a congressional hearing on sexual harassment prevention today we heard about a fund that lets members of congress settle sexual harassment claims in secret on your dime. between 1997 and 2014, more than $15 million in taxpayer money was paid out in settlements for capital hill workplace violations, including sexual harassment. that was paid to 235 people. listen to how the process works. let's say a member of congress sexually harassed you and you reported it, to start the process, you would have to sign a non-disclosure agreement like those accusers referenced by congress woman spear. you'd have to go through counseling and mediation for about 60 days and then if you decided that you wanted to sue you would pay for your attorney, the member of congress would get

free, also paid for by taxpayers . the lawmakers dz identity would remain confidential even if he or she was found guilty. barbara comstock also shared a disturb ing story about sexual misconduct on the hill. she say s a congressman exposed himself to t a female staffer. she says she didn't name the person because she only heard the story and actually doesn't know the identity of that lawmaker. listen. a young staffer had been asked to go to a member's residence to bring some documents and was greeted with a member in a towel who then brought her in and exposed himself and she left and she decided to quit the office and has moved on. in response to the hearing today, house speaker paul ryan is now requiring anti-harassment and anti discrimination training for all house members and their staffs. there are also efforts underway to require that in the senate as well.

seat today on capital hill. members of the house judiciary committee grilled sessions about russia's meddling in the 2016 presidential election. the attorney general defended himself that he misled congress about his communication between the rugs officials. president trump's oldest son release his twitter messages with wikileaks donald trump jr. made the messages public after a report that he had contact with wikileaks came out. the messages began in september 2016 and ran through july 2017. trump jr. responded to the wikileaks account three times, including to an inquiry about a rumor of an upcoming leak. some of those exchanges reportedly happened when wikileaks was re leasing hillary clinton's hack ed e-mails. president donald trump will return home tonight from his naif nation tour of asia. air force one is expected to touchdown later this evening. evillier today the president spoke

difficulty there. but we are learning new details about a deadly shooting prein northern california. the gunman tried to get in rooms at a elementary school. the sheriff says the gunman who has not been sided identified quilled four people, wounded at least ten others, including a child at the school one of the rick times was the shooter's neighbor. the gunman was accused of assaulting the neighbor last january. the neighbor had a restrange order against the gunman. he shot in seven different locations including that elementary school . we know that we had one student at the school that is a gunshot victim that has been transported to a local area hospital for treatment. sheriff s deputies eventually con fronted the gunman and shot and killed him. it is still úunclear tonight what the motive may have been. there was a surprise for some patients who went to i inova fairfax hospital today for elective surgery. the procedures were cancel. the

some of its sterilized surgical trays and instruments were compromised. the hospital says particles were found on the surgical trays. they would not have caused any harm to patients , but the hospital decided to cancel the surgeries out of an abundance of caution. those surgeries will resume tomorrow. the hospital is investigating how the particles got onto its trays and instruments. actress rose ma gow and is out on $500,000 bond she turned herself in loudon county police to face felony drug charges. according to investigators she left some personal items into dulles airport that tested positive for nature the could iks. this happened in january when mack gow and was in town to attend the woman's march in d.c. take a look at this surveillance video of a burglary in progress at a house in northwest d.c. while the homeowner was aseen sleep in the next room. the burglar broke into the house on

mount pleasant neighborhood early yesterday morning. he stole some iems items from the dining and kitchen area. if you know anything about this, call d.c. police. this video could be pretty hard to watch. it's new video of a violent attack in the district in the surveillance video you can see at least four people attacking a man. one of the suspects who appears to be a female is shown hitting the victim with a baseball bat. this happened on friday morning on seventh street in d.c.'s shaw neighborhood. the police say the suspects took off in a gray car. a $1,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an areunion. do you recognize the woman that you see in this video? police in howard county are hoping this newly re lease surveillance video of a robbery will lead to an arrest. it happened last week at a mcdonald's in colombia. police say the wisdom martin broke in through the drive through wind on. she stole some cash and some food and then she took off. a

information that leads to an ar rest. >> also in montgomery county tonight, the step brothers will spend the next few years in jail for a string of violent robber ies caught on camera. a jury convicted marcus lee and and 2001 hainey and two others for the robberies. the group targeted passengers on metro bus and trains. they were caught on camera planning the attacks surrounding the victim and then robbing them of their cellphones and credit cards. in one of the videos on the bus people just didn't really react, but on the metro train there was a good samaritan, an individual wearing a hometown washington wizards jersey or a t-shirt that tried to intervene, but as the judge said in court he must have shared the terror that people were feeling on that train because who knows do they have a weapon? are they going to attack you next in they tried to intervene, but against four people it's very difficult to risk your own safety a

>> after years of resisting the d.c. police department is final ly arming its police officers with tasers. it's part of a pilot program that started a few months ago. for now only patrol sergeants have been issu ed the devices which can discharge 50,000 voaltses of electricity. the chairman of the d.c. police union tells us that the tasers also have the ability to activate body warn cameras. the minute a taser is activated and it becomes activated the minute you draw it from your holster it sounds a bluetooth pulse in a 30-foot radius to activate everyone's cameras. we checked with montgomery county and fairfax county who have been using tasers for years. in both counties it's up to the officer if they want to go through the training and be armed with a tears. in montgomery county nearly 400 officers have them while 460 officers have tasers in fairfax county. new tonight we have smart phones, smart cars , how about a smart pill? the food and drug adminisat

sexual misconduct by members of congress revealed. so far no one is naming names. lindsay watts is live on the hill with the story. >>reporter: a california congress woman says she knows of a it sing democrat and republican who have engaged in sexual harassment. tonight i asked her office why she's not naming names and i was told it's because the victims have signed non-disclosure agreements. those allegations came out today at a congressional hearing on sexual harassment. virginia representative barbara comstock also shared a disturbing story of a lawmaker exposing himself to a young staffer. in response to that hearing house speaker paul ryan said there will now be mandated sexual harassment training both for house members and their staffs. before now that was only voluntary. the republican national committee severing its fundraising ties to roy moore. just less than a month before alabama special election. five women have

one rural community. the school 's parent-teacher association decided to do something about it. at jones gay many students come from the surning neighborhood, but a different neighborhood six miles away also feeds into the school one parent told the pta about her struggles getting there without a car. here's a parent in our school community who has access to our resources and is unable to get it because of transportation and that was really an aha moment for me. children can go to and from school on school buses but for parents. a round trip took over three hours, it included four bus transfers and walking four miles. see aid according to my own calculations we're about 40 or 50 families in the area where my child takes the bus. school 's pta decided to create a fundraiser that would help get these parents to their children's school activities. here's how it works. when you

holmes norton and several other area lawmakers want you to be able to play ball on the mall. they are asking the national park service to reconsider a ban to prohibit from playing on the national mall. after it re stores the turf last year it wants to ban teams from the grounds to keep it in good condition. we all know d.c. is a city chuck muscle full of meum s, but this is the first. in just a couple of days a museum will open. the executive hopes that the museum will attract people from all faiths. you do not advocate for any one specific faith tradition. we just simply advocate for the bible. it's history. it's narrative and it's impact. the museum is ate stories tall featuring some
