this will play out naturally itself. >> when we talk about the allegations because we talk about earlier this week on the roy moore swaying got a fever pitch. where if you look at roy moore and you have a problem with that and you're a democrat, you have to go back and look in time and say, ok, look at what bill clinton did, is it coming full circle and say this is what al franken did, should we talk about the allegations that had been made about president trump before? >> yes, we should absolutely be looking back and trying to address wrong doings in the past. in regards to al franken, i think one of my concerns is we might be jumping the gun a little bit, i think we need to pump the brakes and let reconciliation takes place. she he gave an apology and she accepted it. there has been an ethic investigation called for. his staffers have spoken up in support of him and i think for a moment we have to just sort of

again, he's going to have to run for reelection and that picture will be everywhere >> still four years away at this point for him >> but you know, that picture is still going to be reelection problem for him and i think we should let that play out naturally. >> let me ask you, this week, we learned the taxpayers paid out million it's of dollars in settlements to victims of sexual harassment, but their names are kept secret right now, and seems that the house has taken steps forward to sort of change the culture on capitol hill. what do you believe, needs to be done? and you know, i mean i mean assuming you agree it's high time that we do something about this. >> absolutely. and the first thing we need to do is to release those names. i understand there are probably contractual issues but we need to find a way out and release the names so people know who we've been covering for, let me commend governor comstock from

and my hats off to barbara. she's really great. let me go back to the -- the bigger issue with refrain for just a second. he has reelection in four years but the problem the democrats face is half of tear is protecting women from the awful republican whose want to take away all their rights. well, when you got something that starts further back than bill clinton, it started with teddy kennedy and then you have bill clinton then anthony winner and then you have harvey weinstein and all kinds of other ones and now you have al franken, half of their, as party is in jeopardy and as a party they need to do something about al franken in order to maintain any sense of credibility which i think is already shredding with their voters >> right before we go because we were talking about this, i wanted to move on quickly because we only have about a minute left but i wanted to talk about the victory for the house this week which is passing the tax plan, we know the

able to pass the healthcare repeal. what do you think moving forward? can the senate get past the issues we have, they're talking about trying to repeal healthcare again, what do you think will happen from here on out >> i think the senate will come around. first of all from a political point of view, the senate needs to deliver because the republican party is in deep trouble if they don't. the second thing it's is great tax bill. it creates economic expansion, development, creates jobs, gives tax cuts to individuals, it's a fabulous bill. only the problem we have right now is senator johnson from wisconsin and i'm fairly certain he'll come back on board fairly soon. >> do you want to weigh in because certainly we know the democrats don't necessary agree with that >> tax reform is incredibly important. it's not been good on the process, and the metro. it's been rush as every gop effort has been in this congress.

criticism about the devastation in puerto rico, what was it like when you were there and what were you doing down there >> for me, it was pretty wild. when i first got down on the ground on the 27 of september, there was no outside of the airport, i was with the fbi, homeland security local police didn't have any answers, it was pretty wild. but from -- go ahead >> keep going, i'm sorry about that. >> no problem. from there on out, just pretty much i went out to look for local organizations like red cross, fema, any organization that will take me on. i have credentials, security clearance with the department of defense, plenty of training. i can do anything you really need. nobody would bring me on. i went and found a nonprofit organization and they hired me on the spot and ever since, the 27th, i've been out here over 50

days, you know, doing humanitarian efforts from food, water, rebuilding homes, going to local churches to hand out more and more food to people in dire need >> how would you describe the level of participation and the level of appreciation from the people of puerto rico right now >> the people of puerto rico, they're highly grateful. right now, they're just really hurting for some support of any kind. there's fema out here, the response time is really, really low. it's a little bit over a week or maybe more for people to hear back. a lot of people haven't heard from, like, you know, the overall, you know, still waiting to hear back to see what the damages are to the home. what can you guys do? every time i go out and people on my team go out. they're just more than grateful. you know, medical doctors, i bring local church, you know, pastors, and you kn,

can for these people. if there's any additional help, such as they need mental help or medical help, i go out of my way to make sure i can get that within the next 24 hours. >> jonathan, what spurred you to want to jump in and help out? do you have a personal connection? >> me personally, i have a great personal connection with puerto rico. i have a lot of friend, family, especially being in the united states military veteran, i can't tell you how many friends i have that are puerto rican. i literally -- i didn't hear too much on the news when this initially happened. i was living in maui hawaii, i was saying what's going on? i was not getting local news i reached out to some of my army buddies and they shot me videos and life photos and said if you don't want to come or don't have to, please don't come because it's really bad out

i told them, hey, i'll see you in 72 hour, give me 72 hours, i got to handle something. i got to get a satellite phone, rent it and be on my way and i was on the next flight going into puerto rico from chicago, there was only ten people on the flight. and it was -- it was sad day when you see a seats for 200 people barely anyone there. >> are you heading back any time soon? >> yeah, the, i'm here for thanksgiving. visiting family right now. i just popped out, hey, i need a little bit of a break. see my family and on the 24th, i will be back down there rocking and rolling again. like i said, my organization is out there. they're waiting for me. they got a lot of work for me. even when i'm backing i'm still making moves out there, you know, be people that need help assistance i direct them where

>> in the world that we're in right now, in the climate we're in right now, how do you avoid talking politics over thanksgiving dinner? >> well, yeah. definitely we all want to avoid food fights. sometimes it could be fun other times. i guess the -- i guess the first thing i'd say is sometimes avoiding it is the right thing, it's not like we have to talk about everything. of course, we all know there will be times over thanksgiving dinner when it comes up and we have to talk to uncle ed, the advice we have is, set ground rules around how you're going to talk to each other, don't get into the thick of it. don't start calling each other names before you realize, we actually like each other and we need to find a way to get along here and have rules for the conversation >> it's astounding when you look at the number of families who say they've been driven apart because of political disagreements. seems like, you know, we as a culture should be better than that. we can disagree but we can still, as you said love each other, and get along with each

we may disagree on some things but not everything. >> sure. part of it is we seem to have lost our ability to really truly listen to each other. so it's real easy to get turned off because we know the other side is wrong and we're not interested in what they have to say and we want to get our opinion and things like active listening skills, again, seems to be unfortunately, in short order these days, perhaps, if we are thoughtful about it we can return to maybe a little bit more civil discourse. >> the advice you're saying, set the ground rules before we sit down to eat dinner and let everybody know, if you're off limits but we talk about it. but this is how we to get out of it say jim is screaming at aunt grace about what's going on in washington, dc, how do you get out of it once it's gone too far? how do you stop it and get back on course? >> well, i mean, best way take a pause and take a step back and acknowledge what's happening. someme
