first look at the forecast. more importantly holiday travel that's what we're focusing on tonight. most the country the weather is cooperating. a little bit of activity up the pacific northwest. a little bit of moisture through the gulf coast but we talk about the east coast because if you're still heading out tomorrow you're likely driving or flying somewhere in this location. we have a little bit of moisture showing up here quomg through the cleveland area or at least getting close to cleveland and pushing some clouds ahead of it that's a frontal boundary that's going to bring us a few showers tonight later in d.c. there's something else we need to focus on than a that's a weak area of low pressure that's also working its way up the coast spreading \rain\reign\ across south carolina. that's moving in this direction as well. the two combined to bring could areas some morning rain, not a lot and it won't last forever, but i thought i'd jump

cause. the crash is still under investigation. developing right now, if you are in an uber customer listen up tonight. hackers hit the ride sharing company and may have accessed the personal information of as many as 57 million users worldwide and the company reportedly paid those attackers thousands of dollar as just to cover it up. fox5's corey coffin is live tonight with what we've learned about this. hey, correspondy. >>reporter: that's to the tune of about $100,000. in fact, here at union station hundreds, if not thousands of people get picked up and dropped off from driving services every day. throughout the past year people haven't known about this hack attack, that's means \million\mills of transactions have happened. according to uber 50 million riders had their names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers stolen. 7 million drivers had their license numb

doesn't believe any social security numbers or finance information was taken. now, bloomberg, though, this evening is reporting that in order to keep the hackers quiet the company paid them $100,000. chief security officer joe sullivan and one of his deputies have now been fired for their alleged rolls in it. we spoke to riders and drivers out here about this latest scandal to playing uber. for one i didn't get an e-mail saying oh, we got hacked. they might have access to our money or something like that. that doesn't make any sense. at this point i haven't had any identity issues, identity theft issues, i guess i'm all right. i don't know. i wish there was more of a safer way to get around. it's convenient because it's fast to get places. here let's take a look now at the timeline. in october of 2016, this is when it all began, hackers e-mailed huber uber about the breach and asked them for money to be paid off. the company's ceo at the time travis galnack learned

the attack a month later in november. at the time uber was being investigated and had already been find $20,000 for itself ' ' response to a 2014 data breach. fast forward to june of this year, california nick is ousted as ceo after pressure on the board that felt he put the company at legal risk . the board and new ceo dara was then hired and then they hired an outside law firm to investigate sullivan's security team. it was during this investigation that all of this information came to light. the hack and the coverup as well . so the new ceo has said that they would like to move forward with extra transparency they say this is not what they want uber to be associated with in the future. in a statement today he said, quote, none of this should have happened and i will not make excuses for it. uber says they are now offering credit monitoring services for anybody who is affected. guys.

correspondy, thank you. now to capital hill where an ethics investigation is underway involving michigan congressman john conyers. he is just the latest high profile person accused of sexual misconduct. fox5's marina maracco is live on capital hill with more on this story. >>reporter: that's right, sarah , another sexual harassment claim, 88 year old congressman from michigan, democratic congressman john conyers he is the longest serving member of the house. just two years ago he settled a lawsuit for $27,000 after a woman alleged that she was sexually harassed by conyers while she worked at his office. now, the settlement happened two years ago and it was kept secret by the office of compliance here on capital hill. the woman who launched the complaint said she was fired for not giving into congressman conyers repeatedly sexual advances. buzz feed broke the story. there were

notarized by other employees who essentially corroborated her statements and people were saying that they saw mr. conyers touching female staffers inappropriately repedestrianly rubbing their backs or their legislation often in public, in front of people. which some of these women said was humiliating and demeaning. and tonight, republican alabama senate candidate roy moore can count on the president's support. six women have accused moore of pursuing relationships with them when they were teenagers and he was an assistant district attorney in his mid 30s. today president trump stopped to speak with reporters at the white house before heading down to florida for the thanksgiving holiday. he discounted allegations against moore and says electing moore is better than electing a democrat. he denies it. he says it didn't ha

articles about in before, but this girl scouts blog post right before thanksgiving is getting a lot of traction. it's been shared more than 7,000 times on facebook and the ceo of the girl scouts organization joined us tonight on fox 35 at eight and here's what she had to say to further explain this perspective . we need to make sure that we are letting our daughters and our sons, quite honestly as well, to be authentic and to show authentic affection for people in their life. the truth is that we all have relatives that we may be see once a year and sometimes as a mommy can tell you we want our children to love these people that we local. i think that that is absolutely appropriate, but what we need to do is take a queue from our children. if they don't feel that authentic, wanting to run and hug this person that they've never seen before, that's okay. there's other ways of being pleasant, of giving somebody a high five, of blowing a kiss, of getting to know them a little l better. there has been

this. praise from people who say that kids should be learning about personal boundaries and consent at a young age, but some critics have said that in their families hugs and kisses show respect and love and this is helpful not harmful and others have made the point that affection between relatives can help show kids about appropriate and inappropriate touchin. here's what people that we talked to tonight had to say. it's obviously a tough issue because i mean autonomy is a huge thing in today's modern culture. to have the family dynamic that you're somewhat trained throughout your life. i don't think someone knows to hug your uncle or aunt. i think there's positives or negatives to that. i guess since i'm older i find that a little bizarre because people that you're having a holiday with that you're close to -- i feel comfortable giving them a hug or something like that. i think that hugging is important when

police have done something wrong they can file a complaint with our independent office of police complaints or directly at their police district. should people be stopped when they're walking on the street and officers just ask them out of nowhere if they have guns without any evidence that they're carrying a gun. once again, i have no idea what happened in that case and i'm not sure you do, either. i explained the video. okay, our police department is committed to constitutional policing, work ing with communities and keeping them save. and d.c. police gave us a similar statement last night. they would not tell us if the stop was in accordance with policy, if they had a valid reason to make the stop or if the officers involved wrote a report. jim. a board of patrol agent is dead, another seriously hurt and the feds are trying to figure out what happen. investigators say officer virgil ohio and his partner were found in a culvert near the texas-mexico border last

we drop to 39-degrees. that is not bad thanks to the south wind that will continue to keep it mild. a few showers will develop in the overnight hours. i think they're pretty much gone by the time the sun comes up locally. we're going to head to about 53-degrees. thats ' chilly. temperatures will be much colder than they were today benign or ten greece and the winds will be much more noticeable out of a chillier direction. occasionally gusting to 35 miles an hour as well. the showers taking their time approaching much it's not just this rain, though. there's also a weak area of low pressure moving up the coast which will enhance the rain once it gets east of the bay or at least close to interstate 95 which shows up really well on the futurecast. even though we see showers trying to develop on futurecast by about 3:00 or so maybe one or two of them a little bit more than just light showers. i still only think we're getting a few

inch of rain. some of the heavier activity off the coast, but this kind of gets pulled east pretty quickly, but rains a little harder on you over on the eastern shore. again, the bulk of moisture off the coast with this area of low pressure, but if you're travelling early to new york city you might have a little bit of red wet roadways to deal with. if you wait a little bit to ten, 11:00 to the noon hour it will dry the roads up quite nicely. again, a bright but chilly afternoon as temperatures fall obvious a little bit. tomorrow afternoon we think the high here five 3-rbgs but it could be only in the 40s. forty-six for hagerstown, martinsburg, 45 for winchester and only near 50 for frederick and gaithersburg. definitely feeling a lot cooler than today. as we track the chilly air that returns wednesday know that it stays in place for thanksgiving day only in the upper 40s for thanksgiving as well. 48-degree s here with a f
