. they're calling on senator al franken to resign, as you see the rundown this is what we're talking about. let's get to it. there's more than two dozen democrat senators are demanding that al franken step down. the calls come as yet another woman come forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct in an account of politico he apologized but disputed some of the allegation >> his office plans to make an announcement tomorrow. people are still buzzing, ronica cleary starts us off, ronica, i understand there are reports from inside minnesota that police planning to resign

tomorrow, but he's saying nope, not necessarily so. >> reporter: that's right. there is a lot of talk, a 32, democratic senators came out today, calling for him to resign. then word and news broke that he would be making an announcement tomorrow. you may recall, i'm not sure if it was last week or the week before, he made that first announcement, apologizing for the behavior. but not resigning. and then, reports started to surface that it would be a resignation announcement, i've got tweets in front of me from the senator franken account, he basically calls on an outlet that reported the resignation, he said that reporting needs to be corrected. because at this point, no decision has been made. that the senator is still discussing the issue with his family, it's hard to know, sometimes you know, the lawmaker will come out and deny the reporting

want the it out. and sometimes because it's actually false. we won't really know until tomorrow whether or not he is going to resign at this point. the senator's office kind of digging here heels in the ground saying that decision has not been made just yet. but we did take to the streets to get to the pulse of the people and ask you, do you think that senator franken should resign? >> i think he should. i think it's decent. i think it's the right thing to do, and, you know, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. >> if there's evidence that he's actually committed the crime, yes. i think he should. >> do you think he should resign. >> no. stay and fight. >> yes. yes, you have to have some type of moral, i think basis, ceiling, floor, whatever you want to call it. absolutely. >> reporter: most people saying he should resign. of course, congressman conyers earlier this week

that he would step down, but then on the other side of that, roy moore, a senate candidate, staying in the race, and even amidst allegations of sexual misconduct. the unfortunate thing is that there are so many accusations against so many of them. back to you, jim and shawn. >> in a case of al franken you have the picture involving lee anne tweeted end and the photographic evidence in the first one which she's apologized for and accepted. the question is, you know, on both sides, we have the allegations against roy moore, these are not the first, we have several congress men in the cross hairs, you have to wonder with all those democrats stepping forward are they trying to claim a moral high ground? is that what they're going to say? point their flag in that, look what's happening in alabama >> which is interesting because there's another high profile republican, blake far end

>> you know, used to be an accuser a year. we had bill cosby and bill clinton, now it's an accuser a day, what can we do? first of all, we have to wake up and recognize this is a systemic problem. this problem is pervasive and for two very long we have turned the other cheek and looked the other way. first and foremost, we need to live to people who something to say who have been hurt by sexual harassment and by misconduct and abuse of all forms, then we need to scrutinize what we heard. we need due process, a process that we can trust, where we can derive the truth. i think thirdly, we need to look at what are the avenues that, for change beginning with ourselves. there are tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of men sitting out in audiences everywhere across this country, who have done something that

they're wondering, did i hurt somebody? they know they hurt somebody. you know, proof and reconciliation. >> i think back to about 20 years ago when last time we had this substantial discussion about assessment was a time when people didn't know what sexual harassment was and we're talking about anita hill and clarence thomas, a lot of the attention was paid do that then, some time between then and now, that's a long time, things changed -- what changed? >> you know, we went and we had -- we declared that every corporation needed a sexual harassment training, have sexual training and awareness classes and programs that were mandatory everywhere. did we implement them? did we really learn something? did we upgrade? yeah, we were more careful, but we're going back to school. this is a time for a whole new generation of sensitivity and awareness and action, the window of opportunity and the referendum that's in front of this country, and we're watching our fellow

is extremely important, our daughters are watching. our sons are watching. future generations are going to be deeply affected. >> when you say sensitivity, when you -- that -- that -- that brings to mind a whole new idea that when you say we have to be sensitive about issues, that's political correctness, trash, we shouldn't worry about that. there's a difference between being politically correct and realizing that people know there's effects to what you say sometimes >> exactly. i had a young woman call me up this morning in tears, got the news that the person of the year award that time magazine gives went to people, secret breakers? people like her, who stood up months ago at 20 years old and said, you know what? i was assaulted. i don't want to carry this in shame for the rest of my life. what are we going to do? and she's standing by and watching. yeah, political

let's forget about. let's talk about respect, let's talk about an awareness that what we do affects other people, sometimes for the rest of their lives. and we have opportunity to clean up our act on so many different levels here. >> we do but let me ask you about this. this is awesome, we're glad time did that. there are a lot of women and men who are the silence breakers. then we look at what's going on in alabama and you mentioned it earlier, our kid are watching what's going on be we looked at the allegation against the president of the united states last year and he's the president of the united states. what does this say to us, despite all the people coming forward and we're watching the situation, how do we talk to our kids? >> well, first of all, we understand that the powers of denial of resistance and the opportunity to change are extremely strong. this is so pervasive, our attitudes towards women and so many ways, it's so -- deeply imbedded in our culture, in our consciousness tt

a look at this rally that went on up here today on capitol hill, these were close to 1,000 protesters protesting the fact that despite the fact that people had said that daca was going to be replaced, that they were going to have a system in place, that still hasn't happened. a lot of these people up here on capitol hill today were very angry about this, yes, they were harsh words for president trump but there were also a lot of harsh word for congress. several democrats said they won't vote for any spending bill, that does not have a diagnostic replacement as part of it. and those thoughts were echoed today >> we will not rest until not only the dreamers are put in a safe place but their moms, dad's, uncle, their brothers, their sisters are put in the same place >> when our classmates and coworkers and neighbors and people we have grown up near and der and around, when these families believe that
