. this is fox 5 local news at 10:00. right now at 10:00. a scare at a local school. what sparked the evacuation of a building and a 12-year-old being led out in handcuffs. family and friends coming to grips after the mysterious death of a maryland high school student. tonight, we're piecing together the timeline to figure out just what happened strange text messages luggage sound by the side of the road. why the experience of a local woman still has detectives puzzled. the news at 10:00 starts now. we'll begin with breaking news out of prince george's county maryland. skyfox is live over the scene of a serious crash in land over. we're told two cars collided just after 9:00 on the outer loop of the beltway right near arena drive. crews rushed two people to the hospital wh

if skyfox pulls out. you can see traffic is backed up for miles. as you can see the lanes there are blocked off while crews are investigating. crews are working to get the liquid cleaned up and figure out what happened. outer loop is only getting by on the shoulder. we'll stay on top of this and keep you posted. a more breaking news. a shooting at the minnesota metro station, the vitim was shot standing on the platform. the investigation impacting train service, marina marraco is live at the scene with latest. marina? >> reporter: dc police is assisting with the investigation, it is metro transit police the lead agency that you see on this scene here. they're now trying to figure out why this shooting took place at the minnesota avenue platform. and who the suspects are and you can see the video here from just minutes ago. there was an extremely large presence from both metro

officers as well as dc police detectives. we saw several witnesses being taken away for questioning to see if anything could be said as to what exactly led to the shooting. a witness called in a fox 5 said they heard multiple gunshots ring off. no one was allowed in or out of the station. and now metro transit police asking for the public's assistance in identifying these men on the screen, they're the two suspecting they're looking for. the investment in the case transported to an area hospital said to be alert and conscious with nonlife-threatening injuries and as a result right now, metro is bypassing the minnesota avenue station here. orange line is single tracking for several stations surrounding here. and if you are stopping at the minnesota avenue station, metro will be providing shuttle to surrounding and nearby stations. live tonight in northeast dc, marina marraco fox 5 local news.

developing story out of anne arundel county. a drug bust at a daycare facility. police seized thousands of dollars and lots of money, the owner's son is now under arrest. fox 5 lindsay watts is live in laurel with new details. lindsay. >> reporter: tony this happened at a home daycare in laurel. you can see there are nicetown homes around, seems like a quiet area. right over here, the second townhouse in, that is where police executed a search warrant yesterday. investigators a seized nearly 600 grams of marijuana, several gram of cocaine and about $10,000 in cash. all of this at a state licensed daycare, one that has been licensed several years, we'll show you the man arrested. 18-year-old cameron juan i spoke to his mother. there was a

barrier. i talked to her daughter who lives in the home. she said she and her mother had no idea about the drugs. investigators say it does not appear that children at the daycare had access to the area of the home where these drugs were discovered. the daycare is in the basement. its licensed as soltana, saba. it's licensed to care for up to eight children, newborn to 12 years old. neighbors were surprised, to say the least about the drug bust. one woman said it seemed like a popular home facility >> i see a lot of the cars coming in when i come home picking up their kids. it's shocking to see that's across from me. and how the amount of drugs found in the house was in. i planned on if i ever have kids i have someone close i could utilize as far as in-home daycare, but just seeing this

you never know what's inside of people's homes. >> reporter: i checked the facility status online, and if you do look on the state website, it appears that it's still in compliance, however, when we arrived at the home tonight, two women were leaving, they told me they were with the state here to do an emergency seizure. facility's license. now, tonight, it does appear, according to jail records, that the suspect has baled out. his sister would not confirm whether he was, in fact, out of jail and whether he was back at home. police say there were no children at the house when they excited the search warrant. we're live in laurel, lindsay watts. fox 5 local news. now to a story you saw first on fox 5. a 12-year-old arrested after a scare at a public charter school in northeast dc. police evacuated monument academy on

after receiving reports of someone with a gun. a school spokesperson told us two students brought a bee bee gun into the school. officers found the gun in a neighbor's yard, arrested one of the students you saw there for allegedly making threats to another student. no one was hurt. the academy said the students involved were removed from the school and placed on leave during the investigation. we're learning details surrounding the death of a popular walt whitman high school student, 17-year-old's body was found in the woods near a neighborhood swim club in bethesda. he was last seen late saturday. evan lambert has been following the story since yesterday. live in bethesda with the latest. evan? >> reporter: tony the memorial is growing at the swim club near where his body was found. there are flowers and

investigators who confirmed late this afternoon that police believe his death was likely an accident. >> we can now say that we don't believe any foul play is suspected in this case. call it an extremely emotional moment when several dozen teens came back to the place where they set up a memorial for their friend, they asked for space and we gave it to them. tonight we're getting a better idea of the tonight surrounding the 17-year-old's disappearance and death, he was last seen on saturday night around 11:30. police are not giving us the specific time the teen was reported missing. according to sources police and friends were helping to look for him in the neighborhood around 1:00 p.m. sunday. montgomery county police say a family member along with officers found his bodies around 5:00 p.m. there are still many questions

out there. especially north and west we'll be flirting with them here in the city and we never will warm up a whole lot even with sunshine on wednesday, it will still feel like it's in the teens and 20's pretty much all day long. a little bit of light snow around to the north of us, clouds starting to fill back in now. you can just see that, could there be a snow flake or could there be a sprinkle tomorrow morning or piece of sleet falling from the sky? yes, there could be but it will be so small and so-and-so slight. so don't worry about that, mostly cloudy, chilly lows, tomorrow, temp will fall late in the afternoon. otherwise just winds will kick up out of the northwest ten to 20, gusting higher than that and it will make it very, very cold. tomorrow morning, here's a leading edge of the front getting closer to us, could be a right now along this streaks of lake effects snow in this very cold air mass coming down, three to six inches western facing mountains back out to the west of us over the next 24 to 36 hours with that cold air coming on in. and w
