president trump and the republican party. let's take a look at the latest number, these have tightened up during last 20 minutes. right now, with 68% of the precinct's reporting roy moore is leading with 50.5%. jones has 48% of the vote. and again, those numbers tightening up just during the last 15, 20 minutes or so. >> lauren blanchard is live at roy moore headquarters in montgomery alabama with latest. >> reporter: hi, shawn and tony, those numbers are extremely close, the fox news analysis showing actually at this point doug jones is taking the lead. that is just by a very little bit, they say the vase too close to call. both campaigns have been saying they believe this is going to be their night. just a few minutes ago. over at the doug jones event. they were on stage saying they believe it is going to be good and historic night for the

however, here at the roy moore they're saying it will be close but the red state will stay red. roy moore surprised guests. he came out, walked and shaking hands. he then went back, his campaign to the room to watch some of these results pour in. guys this really could be anybody ap game. rocking around town here in montgomery. chatting with some voters. if they were willing to tell me who they were voting for, it wasn't wholeheartedly one way or another. some of these conservative voters said they were going to vote more but weren't happy. another woman told me she was basically going to play when she got to the ballot box and i think we're seeing that a lot around the state. the moore campaign said they're closely watching jefferson county which is more

county. they think it could mean trouble fr them. at this time, both campaigns saying they have seen large volunteer turn-out but in areas good for them. so shawn, tony, still long night ahead of us. >> let me ask you one quick question. a lot of the exit polls, or a lot of polls in the days before the election were showing am i with about a 6% lead. that's how it was looking earlier. but the numbers tightened up. anyone at the moore headquarters expressed any concern about that tigh tightening. >> reporter: they're not, nor do we expect them to say they're thinking this could go the other way. trying to remain up beat. they're saying they feel good. some saying they've been praying, at this point they say it's in god's hands, that's kind of the message we're getting right now but they're watching it closely. and that's where we're at right now. >> lauren blanchard reporting from alabama.

for the gunman who shot and injured two men outside of a germantown mcdonald's. as people were eating dinner inide, fox 5 lindsey watts is live on beguner's branch road with the latest on this one. >> reporter: shawn, this double shooting happened just off of frederick road, no the far from the fox chapel shopping center, so this is a busy area, and just imagine what it was like for the people eating dinner at this mcdonald with their families when bullets started flying we'll give you a closer look where the bullet went into restaurant. police say there was a highchair next to that area. unknown if there was a child in the highchair, nobody inside the restaurant was hurt. we'll show you video now from earlier tonight. police were here for hours. they say it was just before 6:30 when the two men were shot. police believe there was one gunman but possibly two suspects involved in this. police tell me that

shooting victims went inside of the mcdonald's to get hope. both were transported to hospital, and tonight one of them expected to 72. police say he has nonlife-threatening injuries. this second victim is in more serious condition. police say that right now, he is in surgery. investigators believe that all of the people involved in this did know each other. they don't believe that the shooting was random. right now, the motive is still under investigation. >> the suspect or suspects did flee. a perimeter was set up. there was k9 tracking but right now, there's no one under arrest. after 6:00 in a shopping center at a restaurant, it's a busy time of today. we're fortunate that hor people weren't hurt. >> reporter: they're still trying to figure out if there's surveillance video that captured shooting or the suspects. live in germantown, lindsey watts fox 5 local news.

dupont circle 25 degrees, couple hours ago low 30's and earlier much warmer caitlin is here. it's always interesting to see how the temperatures drop >> we went from 49 degrees about seven hours ago to now 27. so 22 degree temperature drop rapidly and with the wind to go along with the. so it's tough to be outside. this some bitter cold for our area. 27 degrees is the air temperature. at least at reagan. 25 at dupont. low to mid 20's north and west and these are the area temperatures but all day have been accommodate by this gusty wind out of the northwest and the wind is behind an arctic cold front that moved through earlier. it will continue through tonight into tomorrow. you can see those current gusts in many surrounding spots. windchill in the teens,

"fox5" marina marraco and has to be distraught, marina. >> they really are, tony. and officials say they received increased number of phone calls regarding coyote sightings in recent weeks and you can probably see why. these houses here in annandale neighborhood are surrounded by woods and abutting to these homes here. you see this wooded area and this is where 7-year-old rough us mall tease was killed by a coyote sunday evening after the owner let him out in the fenced backyard. she spotted a coyote earlier in the day and spot today several times again after the attack. i whistled for him. normally he comes back right away or i hear him barking and i heard nothing. and then i saw this

which i assume is a coyote walking just beyond the fence and so i was a little scared then. so it was not until the next day of a talked to somebody at a shelter who suggested that since i had seen that animal i should probably go check my entire yard like beyond the fence. it goes downhill. it's woodsy overgrown and everything and i did and i found him. he was half even. it's sad now because i realize unless i ever get a big dog i mean with my little dog there coye never let him outside again in the back. >> and now some things to keep in mind. experts say never feed or attempt to time these animals. keep trash inside until the morning of trash pickup and don't feed pets outside or store outside, don't leave pets and tend when outside and be especially

even for roy moore republican, and doug jones the democrat in the alabama senate race. this is a special election. 87% of the precincts are now reporting and right now it's a dead heat. this is expected to go to the wire. perhaps late tonight before we know if in fact we know at that point okay i'm getting information right now. fox news, fox news just called this race for the democrat doug jones. i don't know what their latest numbers are. right now fox news is pro projecting doug jones will win this hotly contested alabama senate race with roy moore who had been facing accusations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls when in 0s. strong support from the president and from republican national committee. but tonight fox news is declaring doug jones the winner.
