push to pass tax reform by christmas is moving ahead by christmas. but senator marco rubio could be a roadblock. they each passed their own vefertions. there was some big differins. they came up with a bill but right now rubio says he's not happy with the compromise. he takes issue with the tax credit. consistently i've outlined the need to refund the tax credit. as it's currently structured it's only # $100, a lot of people making $25,000 working are not going to be able to utilize as much of a credit as they need. so what i've asked is that that 1100 be wrais raised. i'm reasonable. nonetheless it needs to be more than 1100. rub ohio is just one vote. so what is the big deal. the margin forkerror is slim in the senate. they're not going to get any support from d

were filed with the fcc. as you mentioned, in the middle of chairman pie's remarks the room had to be evacuated because of a bomb threat. clearly this is an issue that has attracted a lot of attention, a lot of very heated and passionate debate on both sides and today it's not been settled but we at least had a vote. washington is a game of winners annulus ers it seems for better or worse. who is the win ner today? the big winner is internet service providers, folks like verizon and comcast and at&t and they really lobbied hard to have these votes repealed. it's a win for republicans as well as well as the republican commissioners and even republicans in congress many of whom stood behind the fc c in calling for these rules to be repealed. if you're a sin nic and you say pie has been a rm toker representative for verizon. their argument this whole move is good for business, is good for nat

for taking the internet back to where it was in 2015. what does that really mean? from the business standpoint it means a up can of things. the internet service providers have complained that because of these rules they're not investing as much as they could. so that's one big piece of thcht the other is they argue thil ' be able to argue con up zooer more options kind of different bupped also and different web packages that might be taylored to their needs and that would be a good thing for con soup ers. the internet companies disagree with that, democrats disagree with that, but that's the arguments that been made. netflix came out today they say they were opposed to this. facebook, cheryl sand ^berg said the same. why would netflix which has benefited from , you know, just the whole streaming economy, the streaming industry, the explosion of streaming services, why would they be opposed to this? there's certainly a principal argument to be made. they feel

open internet and open internet is what gave rise to their business. in order to have the next generation of companies they want to sort of see that legacy continued. there is a potential business detriment for them as well. if we do get to a point where internet service providers can charge more to websites or companies or access consumers at a faster speed, the deep internet companies and those who use a lot of bandwidth are those they might come after first. this is not a done deal, there's a lot that still has to happen now between now and when this becomes reality. definitely not done. two things to watch. one is what happens in congress and whether there's any move towards legislation. what will definitely happies a legal challenge and already advocacy groups are planning to signal they're planning to take the fcc to court over this. we're back after
