sdpv it was a big day on capitol bill the house votes in favor of the biggest bill in decades and a tax twist. >> on the side of the screen we're talking about this tonight at 6:30. >> house pass the gop tax bill and have to come back and vote again tomorrow. that is because there were three errors that need to be fixed. no surprise. no democrats backed this bill. >> let's start off with ronica cleary on capitol hill to break it down for us ton. ronica. >> jim, shawn i was reading an article one of the rules that they broke was how the bill was titled
6:31 pm
drastic or dramatic changes we'll see in tomorrow's vote. so, we can still give you an idea of how this bill will change your life. speaker paul ryan when he was talking about it today thinking that the version passed like we said a new version passed tomorrow and few changes and he sold it as this idea that help is on the way. he says it will give middle class tax relief and he believes it will reviv the economy and we spoke with a certified financial planner you know about the bill. he says this is a middle class tax relief bill. he's actually surprised that lawmakers are not really selling that harder if you will bringing that idea home more because he says that when you look at the numbers those are going to be what we're calling the winners in this bill. so take a liquor listen to mark avalone and what he had to say about
6:32 pm
>> i'm surprised that is not the message coming out of washington and expanded tax credit out of wider income range the benefits of the bill is flowing to families and people not getting as much benefit are individuals or couples with no children especially knows in high state and local tax areas like this d.c. area. let's take a welcome at more of the winners if you will that afterloan outlined. middle class families these would be familys with dependent children because of this expanded childcare tax credit, more controversially other winners would be very high earners and then corporations that controversial decision to redouse the corporate tax rate to 21%. now let's look at tax reform losers if you will. unfortunately you find those in our area. two examples from avalone single high erpers and married people with nohi

dependent children and people who live in the high tax areas you might call them losers from the tax bill they won't see relief that people who have children in the middle class may see. and so, one point that we want to bring up the federal deficit that has been a major point of contention. we didn't put tractor-trailer in win are or loser column trying to stay a political if you will because the estimate believe the federal deficit will go up one to one and a half troylon and proponents of the bill believe the economy will compensate for that increase in deficit and owe bone don't not buy that. so we're going to put that one up for grabs and say you know cliche that time will tell. and again, that breaking news about the vote that needs to be redone tomorrow in the house. we still expect that bill is to be signed by the president before christmas. back to you, jim, shawn. >> thank you, ronica. >> the president is no doubt happy ab
6:34 pm
and this will make him make good on one of his biggest campaign promises overhauling the tax code that along with xhi and tax control and some of the things he is focused on. >> critics say he lacks major achievement. talking about this tonight the question is, you know the president has a share of critics easy of proving them wrong now. >> yes this tax bill reaches his desk and he signs it and it's a list of accomplishments this year and he will share with congress and will look a lot longer and more impressive than if the bill had not come to pass. not only does it deliver on promises to corporate tax reform it deliveries tax cut for filers and includes other provisions numberlees in i direction of obamacare repeal by getting rid of obamacare controversial individual mandate to buy health insurance and opens up controversially a

arctic to drilling a small segment of natural resource to drilling which some of the president's supporters support because they want to see more energy development which they believe will need to more j jobs. so number one just by having these legislative items passed that contributes to the things that the president has done this year which he he can add to judicial appointments and executive orders and number two republicans hope this will have a salutary effect on the economy which is biggest campaign promise made of all. >> the president may be able to out campaign promises but a lot of things he accomplished here will not help the base. the people that helped put him in office and the people that 345eu be 'blue collar' what's the response to that? >> well that's rub and the bilk passed.
6:36 pm
see if it does what the supporters say grow the economy faster and give opportunity for wage growth. create additional jobs or does it do what opponents say which is not really deliver on kind of populous promises the president made to a number of 'blue collar' disprop disproportionately swing voters some of whom voted for barack obama in 2008 and 2012 and weren't looking for necessarily conventional republican agenda. >> i didn't want to cut you off but wanted to get from sarah huckabee sanders she wanted to say things about what they said. >> nearly.7 million new jobs created and stock market reached record high more than 60 times and we finally set up neighboring on path to not only energyy dominance and we've seep the lowest level of

illegal crossings and isis lost all territory almost and important strong noldz iraq and syria. >> there were other proms made along the way. we know the border wall for one which is the president said on the campaign trail mexico would pay for it and now we're trying to find ways to pay for it. there were certainly point she made that you know you can talk about the stock market and you can talk about the at advances made and so year two of this administration is major focus. tax reform taken care of healthcare owe to some extent. what do you do in year two. >> they're on the hook to do something about immigration and they need to do something because the daca program for young undocumented immigrants is set to expire on march fifth and the president cuts a deal he gets border security and proen portionment measures he wants in exchange for le legalizeing people who are protected by that program. and this probably going to be infra struckture bill which would be another opportunities to potentially create jobs though t

president party in congress and then obviously they're going to continue to push for judges or push for building wall and you will see how long can they stretch the legislative year out being election year or you can have a lot of members especially republicans to get reluctant top take tough votes as election gets closer and closer. >> a lot to watch. thanks for coming up in we appreciate it. >> thanks for having me. >> there are more calls to president to resign amid allegations behind him. >> 51% after women and 40% of women believe trump should resign because of the allegations. 5% of democrats want commander in chief to resign and 0% of republicans say he should do so. >> fits is i don't think it's a surprise it brokz down. >> donald trump is not going to resign i'll start with a broad prediction. people who do not like him think he
6:39 pm
this is why he should pay attention to this. breakdown of the party line you just talked about. 2018, no. but weaver got at the end of next year a midterm election and that could create problems for this president. keep in mind 92% of republicans say he should not leave and 85 democrats say he should why that's a problem is because when you look at the female vote in this poll and yes it's only 1200 people but when they go to polls next november and if democrats were able to gain control of house that's going to start the wheels in motion of investigations and of hearings and of other investigations and who knows where that goes2 this white house has hands full when it comes to dealing with congress and refreshia investigation. the last thing they need right now is for democrats to gain control of of representatives next year and then start calling witness

president of the united states of sexual harassment. and that would be heavy load for any white house. this white house in particular already seems stretched to braeinging point dealing with what is on display. >> you have nancy bell's jury that says she doesn't believe democrats should pursue impreevment and doug joe's says the allegations against president are almost settled. what do you campaign on. >> smart money at this point says you look what the doug jones did and follow that to the tvrments. not everybody runs against roy moore however you didn't hear him talking about donald tr trump's sexual harassment. you heard him talking about second amendment and jobs for alabama if democrat are stick to the leads that the voters actually have, one and if they are able to dpain control of the house then
6:41 pm
whatever they want once they arunning committees. until then the voters are spoken in the places democrats have been victorious and what they've been victorious on are pocketbook issues and things people want as far as economy and safety and job cure security. >> that's it we see if they continue do a good job or don't do a good job, sometimes they're plague defense. >> the same okay nancy pelosi was kyleing coners an icon she it to call on him and have him to resign the waives in two is right and wrong tends to go day by day it seems to who is accused. >> good to see you fits. >> you grew a beard. >> i have a job as a small santa claus down the street. >> i was in the neighborhood. >> we appreciate you stopping by. >> who knew john henrehan does mall santa claus. >>

school system they knew more than a year ago students were graduating and didn't have record to she they earned a diploma. students are graduating without meeting state requirements and grades are changed properly and that was prompted by our reporting at "fox5". significance is schools denied knowing about the issues and then did it's own audit and that found reports are were not prop arealy maintained with state ran mandates and students were graduating before staff verified they were eligible. >> there was a big meeting tonight and we'll have that meeting and more on the developing story tonight at 10, 10:30 and 11. >> and twhel is not fake news. and do not respond with the word whatever. we'll tell what you other words are considered the most annoying when 5@630 comes back.
