.7 new butter -- near butner. we have seen it in durham county and at the abc 11 eyewitness news studios as well. more back to the north but more will fill in overnight. the year will get more saturated and we have a predictor showing you a little bit more precipitation from the south to the north. that's not only a threat for light snow but also essential for sleet and freezing rain. it will really get in the waiter morning to meet tomorrow morning if you do if they had to work. winter weather advisory for all the areas and purple. pretty much our entire viewing area. the exception is orange county. they are under a winter storm warning until 9:00 tomorrow night. the reason is more of an impact is expected there and the further east to go. in the flight 103 inches back to the northwest.

heather: we are talking about snow. liz: we have been tracking it throughout the past couple of hours in our northern section. some of you in the south are probably asking what snow? will see a little bit of impact from our winter storm coming through. through. a mix of snow, sleet and the next few hours. to more -- tomorrow morning we will likely see some more that. changing terrain by monday afternoon. we should a slightly better conditions tomorrow afternoon and evening. it will still be wet outside but anymore. and the bulk of the snow they came to the northern sections earlier now pushing out towards wilson and the coastal plains. down south not too much of an impact with all the circles are reports. various people reporting about

some have argued pick of almost two inches of snow. satellite shows the bulk of the snow to the north. a little falling across the mountains. we really look to ramp up our coverage of winter weather as we go to the next three or four hours. 5:00 in the morning it will be a different picture. winter weather advisory ineffectual -- in effect for all areas of purple. you can see a little bit more. to-four inches of snow possible up to a quarter of an inch of ice. we have some awesome photos on twitter. this picture here saying the roads are getting slick. you can see just a little bit of snow. as we go towards the other areas of orange county ec gorgeous snowflakes. in the second is collecting on cars. and also as we go a roxboro you can see the front of this car.

more a chelation overnight. here is a look at fayetteville. winds from the east at eight miles per hour. 28 at raleigh. 28 at southern pines. about 30 in fayetteville. wind chills still feel cooler. 20 in raleigh. 24 at fayetteville. it will not be nearly as cold as last night. 24 expected in raleigh. tomorrow's temperatures will be warmer. we will be above freezing. that is part of the reason we will transition to rain by the afternoon. 36 at roxboro. 41 likely at fayetteville. 8:30 or 9:00 we may see an early morning our transition to sleet and freezing rain. it will not stay that way for long.

south asian area by lunchtime -- southeastern area by lunchtime. that will continue to move overnight. by tuesday morning at 7:30, heavier bands of rain showers pushing through. we clear out later tuesday afternoon into wednesday. luckily not too much of an issue. of potential for higher snow covers on the ground will be north and west of raleigh. you can see a little accumulation down further south than that of most of us will be -- most of this will be off to the northwest. icy cumulation will be ok. less than 1/10 of an inch. we will cut down on power outage problems of power lines, trees, that sort of thing. not quite as much trouble there. we could have a lot of writing and we could have minor flooding in some areas especially near rivers that are ready high. between 1-2 inches of rain falling through tuesday

joel: thank you.heather: state lawmakers will again work tomorrow on new congressional maps in response to a court order. they would replace current congressional districts that a federal court center based too heavily on race. leaders still hope the u.s. supreme court will issue a stay that allows them to avoid the lower courts deadline next friday to produce new macs -- maps. a rare special house and senate session could happen on thursday.

to get his state of the city address tomorrow at city hall. it was postponed because of last week's winter weather. this speech is set to begin at 5:00. in last year's address he focused on reducing poverty and crime in the city. also went tuesday, wake county school board members are set to vote on a revised hiring policy but it's ends job protection to gay employees. the new policy would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation, genetic information, or military affiliation. gay activist complained the changes do not include transgender employees. is under a march 1 deadline to make policy deadlines dealing with nepotism. finally, the governor's veterans employment initiative is heading to fort bragg. they are holding a job fair friday as part of a project launched last spring to help that's fine work in north carolina.
