we are giving it to you >> in a stunning movie at 10:21 p.m. tonight, the grazers fire head coach lovie smith. gone after two years with the franchise, i don't think anyone including lovie smith saw this coming. we talked to him and he was already talking about next year, what needed to be done in terms of filling holes on this team. and smith's first year was obviously horribly disappointing, 2-15, but this season behind a rookie qb and line, he won six games. they were in the play-offs but
10:44 pm
they finished on a flat four-game losing streak and maybe had a is one of the reasons he was let go, although jameis winston publicly questioned the effort down the stretch of some of his teammates. there are going to be a lot of coaches who want this team because they are on their way up. there are just pieces that need to be filled through the draft and free agency. the buccaneers released a statement that reads in part: after careful conversation we consideration, we informed lovie that we want to make a change. i want to thank him for his hard work during his time here, this decision was a difficult one on a variety of levels. i am disappointed we were not more successful during these past two seasons because we are committed to doing what is necessary to give our fans a

jason licht will oversee the search for a new coach, and that is critical because he was not happy bringing lovie smith in. and right now the lightning are not in the play-offs. their season has been inconsistent. and jon cooper tells us it will make more than one season to turn the lightning around. >> we have to get out of this win one lose one, win two, lose one -- it seems that every team around us goes on some sort of run and we were not been able to go on that run yet. i think our longest win streak has been three games. we've done it twice this year, and we got to go on this run. the problem is we are just not scoring. and when you're putting all of that pressure on your goal tender it makes it tough and we

>> all right, so stomach s bishop are going to play, and the goalies are going to be hammered with shots, three on three hockey, fun to watch but exhausting for the players. >> so chip let's get back to the bucs. >> yeah, let's do it. >> lovie was fired and beyond the fact that it was announced on twitter and facebook, it is a big deal because they still have three more years to pay him at a huge salary and just last year they stopped paying their previous coaches and so this took a lot for the grazers. their team had troubles but they had two wins and then six wins this year, and you could make the case that they are going in the right direction. >> but i don't think lovey lovie smith
10:47 pm
them in the right direction and frankly his defense has been shrewdly shrewd absolutely horrible. the secondary was dismal and he had to shuffle in coaches. and if there is someone that i think could take over this franchise it is dirk cutter. if you look at doug martin and charles simms, both of those running backs were the best combination in the league and he discuss it all with two rookies in the offensive line. plus as i reported to you earlier this week, dirg dirk cutter was in the rumor mill for the philadelphia eagles job, and you have to look at also what he has done with philadelphia and matt ryan. his name has been swirls around head coaching position and it would not surprise me at all to
10:48 pm
>> he was at boise state and he has been there done that at the college level. >> and we are seeing tweets from players that are not happy about this, lavonte david saying that lovie was a great coach and great person, and i guess we'll see reaction coming in all night and tomorrow. >> that is a good point because everybody loves him, do they not? >> that is true, it's not as if he lost the team, because lost his ability to coach in the nfl. he was a year out of the game and joked that he spent the year in his basement watching game tapes and trying to make the connection, and you win with defense, but other than mccoy,
