you don't want to get too disappointed too quickly. that's what i'm working on right now. we still have some rain down across the southern part of the state that will continue to push to our south and clear out as we go through the overnight hours. can you still see heavy rain, raining heavily down towards naples for a couple of hours. west palm beach and then strong thunderstorm activity now pushing out into the atlantic but really we had some pretty good rain this afternoon from about tampa down towards the south. many locations picking up between about three quarters of an inch of rain to a little over an inch of rain. here in tampa we officially picked up .65 in the rain gauge, move up into the northwestern hillsborough county, dropping off pretty quickly.

tampa, 69 in st. petersburg and 70s once you push a little bit further to the south. mid 70s middle part of the state and mid 60s as you get into the panhandle. not seeing those cooler temperatures moving in just yet. the rain has kind of raced out ahead of the cold front. we've got a series of cold fronts, complicated system going on across the southeast. all the different areas of low pressure, clouds, the showers moving through the tennessee valley. this entire mess will continue to work its way on towards the east and sweep these cold fronts through here as we go through the next day. and you'll notice it by tomorrow evening, the cooler temperatures really starting to push in. we've got some snow on the northern end of this front and some many, many colder temperatures.

then you factor in the winds cross the plains many feel-good temperature of minus 30 in fargo, minus 30 in duluth and, here is the front swinging down to the south, bringing in those cooler temperatures. so the forecast for tonight mainly cloudy skies, 65 for that low 68 for tomorrow under variably cloudy skies, a breezy northwesterly wind, mostly sunny by monday, 68 after a very chilly start to the day. winds are out of the northwest, three to five feet, moderate chop on the bay, high tide is at 12:51. daytime highs cool down for the first part of the week, second half of the week we're starting to warm things right back up, haley. >> thanks jim. most of us hit that snooze
