court that nobody saw coming. >> >> anchor: good evening, i'm mark wilson. kelley has the evening off. mike is in for paul tonight. >> yeah, mark, we are looking at the possibility of more strong to severe storms. last go-rowpped round was tampa south and this time it's tampa north. you see the high clouds continuing to stream across the southern half of the state. it's this area of low pressure that is going to be tracking eastward toward atlanta before turning up the coast and becoming a major nor'easter and it's this cold front that has the potential to bring us severe weather. this back edge of the storm and radar doesn't make it all the way down to the gulf but you see where we have all of that lightning?

are strong storms extending deep into the gulf and this is all heading our way in the morning hours on friday. this is from tampa northward and look at the models coming out, most of them continue to point to areas up by the big bend as the best chance of seeing severe weather but still the risk is there for us. storms ariverring mid to late morning and lingering into the early afternoon. severe potential highest for straight-line winds and you can't rule out an isolated tornado and drying and turning windy as we head into the afternoon. we are not done after that. gale warnings friday afternoon and evening and into the day on saturday. we are talking about wave heights of 14 to 18 feet possible by later on saturday. details on that and a chilly looking defend forecast weekend forecast coming

allow people to legally carry a holsters handgun. police found 17-year-old simon and her mother dead in their apartment early in december. dcf took the teen away from her mom in 2014 because they discovered that the two had a suicide pasco county. a judge gave the teen back to her mom without even considering the results of a psychiatric evaluation. dcf also pointed to weaknesses in communication between social service agencies that were supposed to protect the team. the mother and daughter died in december when it appears they actually carried out that suicide pasco county. >> and detectives pasco county. >> pact.

comings is charged with two counts of armed kidding. and we are thoald told my by authorities it appears to be drug related. and another man is being questioned about the two murders, and we have an update for you on the trial of a man accused or severely beating a small dog to get back at his owner. this is a sick story. arthur jewel is reported to have beat a chihuahua so badly she lost her eye and had internal injuries. he was found guilty of assault and fleeing police. he was offered a plea deal but then he started to interrupt the judge and acting strangely and so the judge took the plea deal off the table. >> yeah, you you don't have to go

to late morning, and the biggest threat with these storms is going to be the damaging winds. straight-line damaging winds. the tornado threat is not as high as it was last weekend. with the same system we are talking about a blizzard all the way into new york city, blizzard warnings in effect for philadelphia and new york and long island, and for us it becomes a cold and windy weekend forecast. and so what does this mean for the guilty plea gasparilla children's parade? how about 54 for a high with a few light showers, cold and windy, and choppy if not downright rough on the bay and we mentioned that the seas are potentially 14 to 18 feet as you

as well. generally dry, increasing clouds. we'll pop up showers as we head towards 7:00, 8:00, but that line of storms looks to arrive around 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, and it's going to be moving quickly and so once again by early to midafternoon we'll get rid of the main batch of storms and then get the cold showers popping up heading towards the evening and they may linger into the day on saturday. as far as the severe weather threat goes the biggest threat will be high winds but can't rule out the isolated tornado threat as well. 59 degrees, increasing clouds. for tomorrow, 69, showers and storms turning windy in the afternoon. some of the storms may be on the stronger or maybe even severe side, and you have our app downloaded as well. 54 for saturday, cold and windy. here is your marine forecast for

they allowed the relationship to erode, and trade demands don't come out of the blue. that is the boil-over point that took months to get this sour, but his agent is pushing the wrong button. he has a pitbull reputation and a spoiled frustrated client but instead of being a good advisor and agent he lashed out with his own arrogance foolishly believing in his own abilities and that backfired. it backfired because suddenly drouin a player with league potential now looks like he could be a potential problem for the next team if he doesn't get his way, and it backfires for drouin because a player who just wanted a nhl job has been put on ice and deserves to be there.

clouds continues to shift off to the south and west, but moisture in the west and more getting ready to move in. and here is why. you have this tornado watch in the panhandle, and a line of storms just east of new orleans and all shifting to the east, headed our way. meantime on the north side of this, high pressure situated just perfectly for a snow storm across the mideast and the north at lastic, continuing to funnel in cold air on the north side of this and look at this amazing water-vapor loop. you see this digging deeper into the southeast and has that continues to strengthen we get the south side of it, the cold front coming through. that cold front means businesses as it moves through in terms of showers and storms and with that we have a risk for severe weather into friday. now, timing-wise looks like

storms start to roll in and by the midafternoon they are already through the area. straight-line wind damage and the best chance to damage the closer you get to that area. that all pushes through, on the backside of it, cold, windy conditions funneling through the relatively warm waters of the gulf, and you get the showers popping up friday night and into saturday morning and behind that gale warning conditions. seas offshore talking about 15 to 18 feet, rough out on the bay, and certainly not good conditions at all for any kind of boating. as far as temperatures go heading into the day on friday, still mild out there, temperatures into the upper 60's and low 70's, but once that front pushing through, the winds
