and thanks for joining us.. i'm haley hinds. and i'm aaron mesmer.. lloyd sowers has the night off... 3 first up - near-record breaking snowfall.. in the big weather service says the 26-point-eight inches of snow that fell in new york city.. is the second-most recorded since 1869. that measurement.. taken just after midnight last night. it narrowly misses the record of 26-point-nine inches.. that fell in february 2006. a massive cleanup.. is now underway.. in addition to heavy snow.. towns along new jersey's coast are dealing with tidal flooding.. as a result of that powerful storm.. streets were flooded with ocean water and icy chunks of snow this it's expected to let up today.. but thousands of we have much more on the impact of the blizzard still ahead.. 3 meantime, here at home.. if you thought it was chilly for the gasparilla children's parade yesterday.. you probably needed *another layer today.. meteorologist mike bennett joins us now with a look at where the temps are going this week.

3 3 3 developing tonight - more trouble for customers and employees of premier parking. 3 cruise passengers arriving back in tampa today were met with a not-so-warm welcome back to land. they say the *one* operating shuttle took more than an hour to bring them to their cars -- parked at the premier lot on north brush street -- with one employee manning the lot. this isn't the first sign of trouble for the private parking service. we brought you a similar story on premier last week. the company closed its west hillsborough avenue lot, unannounced. airport passengers found themselves stranded... their cars were abandoned... with their keys locked inside a trailer. today, a group premier employees who say they've not been paid since last month, showed up at the north brush street lot to picket. and, despite no compensation, they still wanted to help the

expansion.. could help you 3 the overhaul at tampa international airport means new businesses are getting ready to open. but first they need some new employees. 3 t-i-a is hosting a job fair tomorrow. there are 125 positions available at shops and restaurants that will open up this spring. representatives from businesses like ducky's...newslink...auntie anne's...and rumfish grill will be at the fair. they're looking to fill hourly and management positions. an airport spokesperson says this is the next step in the ongoing airport expansion. 3 once the expansion is finished...there will be 65 new stores at the airport. 30 of them will open this year. the job fair runs from 10-until-four tomorrow...in the airport boardroom. 3

into big top circus today... lightning-themed, of course. 3 it was the bolts family carnival, back for the second year. families brought their mini hockey fans out for a day of fun, games, traditional carnival foods... and the best part-- they got to do all of this with the entire lightning roster and coaching staff. some played ping pong with steven stamkos, others took on tyler johnson in a friendly game of rod hockey. 3 3 it was also a day of education. guests got to learn all about the science of ice. proceeds from today's event will go to the lightning foundation, which shares funding with hundreds of local non-profits. 3 still ahead - help for stranded drivers trying to survive the east coast blizzard.. is coming from a surprising place.. 3 the organization living up to its name.. that's helping them out! we'll be right back. 3 3 3

3 3 3 meals on wheels.. is taking on a whole new meaning on the pennsylvania turnpike. the pennsylvania emergency management agency called on the salvation army to help with delivering meals to stranded drivers there. volunteers from across central pennsylvania.. helped prepare the food.. originally.. authorities had requested 500 meals be made.. they later upped that to *4- thousand*.. to help stranded drivers survive out there.

we're getting an incredible view.. of the blizzard that brought much of the east coast to a standstill. astronaut scott kelly took these photos.. from the international space station. the storm dumped as much as three-feet of snow...stranding tens-of-thousands of travelers and shutting down big cities. most of the 80- million-people in the storm's path *did listen to requests to stay off the roads. 3 (( ))

3 carolina nearly ran the table this season. losing just one game to atlanta... the panthers have pounded their opponents winning by averaging of 12 points per game.... the cards by 11. this is a rematch of last season's playoff game in which the cardinals came limping into the postseason with a third string quarterback. carson palmer will be a huge difference in the game... he's already being considered for the league's mvp along with cam newton. the panthers beat arizona 27-16 a year ago holding the cards to a playoff record low of 78 yards of offense. this one will be a completley different game and both quarterbacks can't wait for kickoff.

3 peyton manning is outplaying tom brady after two quarters of play.. manning has thrown two td passes and brady two picks... the broncos are up 17-12 in the 3rd quarter. 3 the lightning take their first step towards making sure steven stamkos will stay in a lightning sweater... the bolts first offer to stamkos... an 8-year deal worth $68-million according to sportsnet, a canadian hockey wesbite... i say it's a start because it's only a million more than he's making now and the top two players in the league are making over 10-million per year. the lightning's offer would be the 8th highest salary in the league... stamkos would likely get more on open market. so don't look for him to accept this one. 3 the game was over after

thankfully no injuries have been reported. >> the manhunt continues for three escaped inmates. last seen early friday morning in the central man's jail in santa ana: inmates all have violent histories including torture and murder. >> identified as 20-year-old jonathan. 37-year-old jose and 43-year-old. the jail holds around 900 inmates. >> canada friends and loved ones held a vigil outside the school a gunman killed four people. one of those people is the daughter of the city's acting mayor. she was a teacher at the school. also learning the alleged gunman first shot and killed his two brothers at home before making his way to the school. putting the death toll at four. police say they have a man in custody. the motive for the shootings is still under investigation. >> investigators believe they

donating for the water cases. as much as you can get an send its important to help. >> the group also reaching out to other organizations in detroit that may want help but might not have the necessary transportation to get the donated items. >> a 40-year-old father and his 17-year-old son are dead following a shooting at a gun shop in mississippi. took place at the gun shop in pearl river county. a gun owner and his son went to the shop to retrieve a weapon. after being told it was not repaired one of the men reportedly became and i take ited because he had paid a $25 service charge. even though his gun was not fixed. the wife of the gun shop owner called her husband and son to de-escalate the situation. but that decision turned deadly. both father and son began to argument which authorities say led to the killings. two others were injured in that shooting. >> days to go before the iowa caucus. a toss-up on the democratic side.

k >> a football player. she place for the kansas city titans. this week she got to help coach the wide receivers for the east team. jeff caught up with the coach as she follows in the footsteps of a coaching pioneer. >> is the coaching assistant to west shrine game. the kansas native following the path of dr. jen who became the first nfl female coach as in10 for the arizona cardinals. they were teammates on the u.s. women's national football team.

when i saw that opportunity open up for her i was completely thrilled about that for her. >> the coach is doing exactly what mike and dave are doing. transitioning from player to coach. >> i went to school played a number of different sports probably every sport except football. finding there was a women's team so i started playing football. have been playing for about eight years now. >> obviously love coaching so that's where my path has taken me right now. >> as a player she is a quarterback for the semi pro team in kansas city. as a coach on charlie staff she gets the same ribbing as everyone else. >> to watch the coach bust her chops like he does the rest of us ax i tell you she is working hard. putting together all the scripts. out there, coaching players. she has a lot of football knowledge. >> the coach works with the wide receivers. teaching is all about staying on

in the north east a few light snow showers across upstate new york. pretty much it. temperature wise a lot cooler up there inoethane otherwise would be because they ever the snow pack to help keep things cooler. future cast watch the winds. winds out of the north right now they shift more out of the southeast tomorrow. that is a sign that change in the pattern for our temperatures to start warming up. see the temperatures. by tomorrow afternoon after another chilly start warming back in to the mid to upper 60s and we don't stop there. back in to the mid 70s by tuesday and wednesday. for tonight 39. areas of frost north and inland. 67 for tomorrow. plenty of sunshine. seven-day forecast temperatures in to the mid to upper 60s. tomorrow mid 70s on tuesday. next rain chance wednesday and thursday. have to watch the severe potential with that. then we are seasonable as we head toward next week end. high of 67.
