determination whether morris will face charges. child abuse charges have been dropped against a former citrus county teacher. the prosecutors dropped the charges saying there was not enough evidence for a conviction. she was arrested in september. she was accused of abusing her adopted son. she reportedly lost her job as an instructor at a school shortly after her arrest. self-defense? that's what a judge had to weigh as details were revealed in a murder case. and gloria gomez is here with more on what is an unusual case. gloria. >> reporter: it is. this did have an appearance of a revenge killing and new details are coming out. it started on the 13th. the man killed in the case according to investigators started the trouble and the violence in the case. they say michael fuentes went into the house, broke in and

that person did survive but fuentes, contacted the family saying he wanted to make the peace with them. that's when the defendant and two others went to meet michael fuentes and he pulled out a knife and that's when things turned for the worse. >> my client drove the ex-girlfriend the subject of the debate drove them. the victim reacted in the knife. the client reacted i would submit, judge and perhaps in defense of others by removing the gun. it was during that time he shot the victim and the victim passed away. there is evidence to support the knife fell out of the victim's hand at the time of the offense. >> and they say he is 20 and never been in trouble with the law. the judge listened to both sides and gave him $100,000 bond. we will follow the case and let you know how it plays out. back to you, thank you very much, gloria.

students in support of guns on campus. today a group at polytechnic held this protest. the bill is dead in tallahassee but that did not stop them from showing support. it would have allowed people with concealed permits to carry their gun on campus. >> the people that will be allowed to carry as a result of the spilled are the same people that are standing behind new line at publix. these are the same watching the movie next to you. these are the neighbors and the people walking around your family. they are deemed safe by the state and on campus should knob different, as a university, we're submitted to campus security. we believe allowing the conceal carry would pose a threat to our students, faculty and staff. >> florida poly one of 12, none of which eye lows guns on campus. bill cosby's wife gave a

uber driver who killed people at random made a court appearance. and jason dalton is charged with murder in a shooting spree that spanned four hours. meantime one of his passengers said he called the police to report the erratic behavior an hour before the first shooting. and chris cato is here. >> this makes no sense to everyone involved. matt mallon is the name and he told a station that jason dalton picked him up and had a dog in the back seat a mile down the road he got a phone call and hanging up he started driving wildly running sop signs, hitting vehicles and swerving through people's yards. >> he would not stop he kept looking like don't you want to go to your friend's house, i said yes but i want to get there

a stop i jumped out. >> he called 911 and reported his behavior but he said the dispatcher did not seem that concern the. we don't know if police made any effort to locate the car. he called uber to warn them at 6:00 p.m. he shot a woman four times in an apartment complex parking lot. she survived. investigators say about four hours later he shot and killed a man and his son at a car dealership and then after that killed four women as they sat inside of a car outside of a cracker barrel and wounded a 14-year-old girl in the same parking lot. prosecutors say he has admitted to the shootings. they do not have a motive. he was arraigned on six counts of murder. attempted murder and eight counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a fellly. he said little during the hearing. >> is there anything you wish to tell the court at this time in

this is going to be like every other candidate we have to compete hard. >> after they compete in nevada, it is on to a succession of 11 states again 8 days from today. the polling along the states is giving ted cruz a slight lead but donald trump has an edge. we say most of the states there are a couple like alaska where we don't have reliable numbers to go on. it is conceivable if he make as play could run the table, i did not know that about marco rubio growing up in nevada. >> they will vote this saturday, how is that race shaping up. >> it is looking better for hillary clinton after the rebound victory on saturday in nevada. and when you look at the entrance polling she did better among women than she did in new hampshire. she won over non-white caucus goers. that bodes well for her as the

she remains in jail on neglect and abandonment charges. >> 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death of his ten-year-old sister. fed rick lockridge killed his sister. the bay county sheriff's office said that she was seen saturday night when she went to bed. the family reported her missing before 11 a.m. on sunday. her body was found in a field behind her home. the sheriff said he shot and killed her and they cannot rule out sexual assault. people are saying that apple needs to help the f.b.i. get into the locked phone. it is fighting an order by the government to recover data from the phone. they want to know what is on the county issued iphone which may include why they were targeted. this week is severe weather awareness week it will get
