>> and police say that this guy right here thought it was a good idea to put his gun in a diaper bag and 6 year old fired a shot. that boy was injured and now the defendant is facing serious charges. and gloria gomez is here with how this played out in court. gloria. >> the defendant had to face a judge today and go over all the charges against him. the prosecutors say that he was at a park when he decided it was a good idea to put his gun in a diaper bag and talked over to the pier a 6-year-old found the gun and fired a shot. it injured the boy but he will recover. they saw him trying to throw the gun in the bay trying to get rid of evidence before the judge set bond he had a warning to stay away from the child and more. >> he bonds out he is not to

we're at 44. highs of 60s. back to you, how about a day at the race. and a boy was in foster care and spent the day with chris archer. it was posted to a web site. and he was adopted. how this played out. we're glad it did. >> it is the definition of a ray's pitcher who was adopted as a child meeting with a foster child who had his doubts about being adopted. the meeting caught the attention of a couple who made him a part of the family. >> chris archer had no idea when he met this teen one year ago life forever. >> it is a perfect example of

will be on somebody. >> the day at the park led to zach's adoption. >> chris archer and others involved changed his mind. >> it was set up by the hart gallery, they are working to increase the number of adoptions of teens and high need children. in another participant of the state, mark and terry had nearly given up on the hopes of adopting when they saw a store about the day with the pitcher on the web site. seeing zach they say they just knew. >> it was a place in life for us and we felt like we could offer, you know what we have learned and help him grow. >> they reached out to meet zach and they hit it off. before the start of the school year he moved and into the home.

months we have grown to know him and love him there in the house. we would miss him if he was not there. now it is just making that final step and saying we are committed to him. >> zach and his parents have made things official. 194-year-old was adopted by the retired air force vets in clearwater. in port charlotte where they are gearing up for a season, chris archer was thrilled to hear a day with the teen made such a difference. >> to have it come full circle around now it is be yourself, share your experiences, your truth. people look at adoption as a negative thing but if you get the right parents it the it is awesome. ky speak to that. i was adopted as well. >> and the heart gallery has arranged 300 adoptions and much
