sexual abuse,. it is the fox 13 6:00 news. thank you for joining us tonight. first up at 6:00. there is a new lawsuit from a man who says he was abused by a leader at a tampa catholic school. they concerned the now defunks of the school. it is closed but a church operate on the property. and we have more and first things first y suing now? >> the victim's identity has not told his wife about the abuse. the brother has died but the victim said he is bringing this now as a part of the healing process. >> every day i go through i think about this. >> for 40 years he has lived with the secret he had not told

he asked for his identity to be protected because he is revealing he is a victim of child sex abuse. >> you want it in the back of your mind. the man's abuser was brother john kasula he died in 1994. from 1976 to 1978 he was a leader at auto shop teacher at a boarding school. and a catholic order serving the poor ran the school which is now closed. they operate a church and boys and girl's club in tampa. the lawsuit says that starting when the plaintiff was 12 the brother touched and fondled him in an empty auto shop. it was nearly 20 separate times. according to the suit, the school and higher ups with the order knew about the abuse allegations against brothers and priests and did not report it to authorities.
