people spend this labor day weekend. governor scott touring the flood zone saying this is the worst flooding in the state since hermine hit thursday. did the governor offer any solutions? >> the governor did promise to investigate how to solve the major drainage problems here in pasco county. it is hard to tell all of the water but the river actually is going down although it still could take several days before this community dries out. >> this is a road we are on. and it's a river today. >> florida fish and wildlife officers spent 12-hour shifts in high-water vehicles checking on neighbors and rescued people. this family was stuck as the current overtook them as they tried to get to belongings that

some pretty big storms rolled through, and you can see still have storm activity now out across highlands county and north across eastern polk county, this is gradually going to be dying off through the next couple of hours or so. anclote river now officially below major flood and the latest forecast has it dropping below even minor flood stage by tuesday morning and so improving conditions for the and anclote river. and here is the important thing. this is moving east-northeast at 5 miles per hour. so it's still on this trajectory, although we should start to see it turning back to

further northeast, that's okay, but when it shifts back west, that is when we'll see the effects in the midatlantic and to the northeast. you mentioned that ship getting stuck on the northern flank of this storm and didn't quite make it. the same cruise ship that back in february was caught in a major winter storm. by wednesday, the system pretty much 150 miles southeast of cod, they will get the worst effects on wednesday and after that finally we'll say good bye to hermine. the heat certainly came back with all of the sunshine we saw together. 88 degrees and a dewpoint of 71. the barometer is rising 30.11? inches. it's warming up against the

here is the big picture, satellite and radar. and this northerly wind pushed the storm from north to southeast or so. and home it's a little bit more of a northeasterly flow, around we'll see the storms pushing back and building towards the northeast sea breeze. here is hermine, and you see this kind of finger of moisture out across across the state. to the north of that we have all of this dry air just trying to make its way south, it's made it to jacksonville, and so much dryer conditions for them. it's just not going to quite make it here until tuesday, and think of this as the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. you still see the purples over the area, and into the day on monday but then the yellows arrive and that is much dryer

tuesday we'll drop the rain chances significantly but then wednesday we see the moisture increases and by thursday, friday and saturday we will increase the rain chances as well. there could be heavy down pours and some localized flooding over the next couple of hours and then in the afternoon tomorrow, building heading on into the evening, and so a big outdoor activity and a lot of bbq's. best thing i can say is have that skytower radar app open because if it buzzes that is about the time you should be heading in doors. for the day tomorrow, 91, with scattered afternoons storms

finally it interacted with some storms from the north and look at what developed. as far as rainfall totals go today, they were pretty impressive. the good news is for most of us that saw the rain today, you didn't see a whole lot of rain over the last four, five, six days. but inland, you didn't see a lot of rain, 2, 3, 4 inches but up agai much. tomorrow we'll start to shift these totals farther north and west and closer to the coast. southeast polk county. not really moving a whole lot, this just has a rain itself out over the next couple of hours and then south of that, a big storm hitting over portions of high land and now just over palm dale, and still moderate rain

that is going to take at least another hour or two to rain out. and we didn't pick up up rain but we are three inches above where we should be at the end of the year. that is mo how much has fallen d here we are just four days into september. and so we do shift heavier rain closer to the coast south as well. dryer conditions the farther north you go, and marine chances head back up for everybody the further north you go. 40% rain chances just south of pasco and northern polk county. and then 60% rain chances near sarasota, north port, and
