titusville to the cape and melbourne and a few showers over the turnpike not doing much. this is the time of year when we do get some showers, but, you know, the overall coverage tends to decrease mid to late september. that's the case today. yeah, a lot of moisture around and showers heading inland, but a lot of storms lost their umph this afternoon. 86 in brooksville and 90 in tampa today and 90 in sarasota and 80 in st. pete. today is another day with so so far this september it's been a lot like june, july and august. you've had 20 days, three were below average because of clouds and rain. we had one average day, and then 16 days with temperatures above average. that's pretty much been our theme the entire summer. a lot of that is because we have not had i would consider very active rainy seasons. the active rainy season means
5:18 pm
the peak was september 10th. today we're kind of on the downswing. we downswing all the way into early october, and then that little hump here late october and november. sometimes we can get hurricanes in late october and november from dying cold fronts that sit over the gulf for a couple of days. they can spawn the hurricanes and tropical storms that head our way from the west. so we actually are more concerned about storms late so, you know, keep your guard up. we're not quite done yet. in the atlantic two named storms, karl and lisa, both should not impact land even though karl will give bermuda a scare, i think. here it is here, and then you have lisa, which is moving to the west-northwest. here's the updated stats as of 5:00. we have tropical storm karl, which should become a hurricane.
5:19 pm
bermuda, but it should bypass the island to the east and south as either a category 1 or category 2 that will happen early on saturday and accelerate across the atlantic. then lisa is just here to watch and just kind of say, there you go. here we go. a tropical storm, and probably a non-tropical system in about four to five days, lots of shear. for the weekend, we have a steam bath in the southeast. dry air will try to move south into i don't see lower dew points and cooler temps. we stay steamy through saturday and sunday. a little drier and more pleasant from north carolina up to maine, but that for us is about a 12-hour drive away. not heading our way anytime soon. so tonight, light west wind means a few showers near the coast late at night, down to 78. a few storms around tomorrow.

might be a terrorist. when they interviewed the father, he recanted the part about terrorism saying he was interested in gang activity and was watching violent videos. the fbi did look into rahami at that time and found in evidence of terrorist affiliations and no basis to continue the investigation, so they closed the book on him. now that book is wide open again. rahami is now suspected of planting bombs in new york and new jersey over the weekend, one exploded in 29 people. two exploded in new jersey. no one hurt in those two. speaking to reporters outside his home in elizabeth, new jersey today, mohammed rahami said he calmed the fick about ahmad two years ago after he attacked family members. >> he hit my wife, and i put him in jail four years ago.

some backlash but also an increase in business. some people say the sign will give the entire town a bad rap. a new poll shows hillary clinton is now leading donald trump in florida. the poll gives clinton a five-point lead. so is clinton bouncing back after a rough couple of weeks? let's bring in craig patrick to break it all down for us. craig. >> she's not necessarily at this point gaining ground. if you look at this poll, you may think she is at first glance. she's up by five points in the survey, but comparing poll to poll mon moth just last month gave clinton an eight-point lead. when you compare the methodsologies she lost ground from month to month. overall not good news for her there. when you look at the broader numbers, though, and average them altogether, the state of florida right now deadlocked. 45% clinton, 45% donald trump. it all comes down to turnout across parts of the state and by
5:34 pm
to be key. that's where clinton in particular has lost some ground. it will be interesting to see to what extent she can regain some trust and support from young voters after their first debate this coming monday. clearly the race is focused on the war on terror and to that end polls are giving hillary clinton a slight edge on handling the war on terror among voters. at the same time, voters say they're looking for a change of direction, and donald trump certainly represents that. >> so, times" sent the same polling data to for different pollsters and they had four different results. how does that happen? >> "the new york times" did that to prove the point. they have the raw numbers. these are the number of people called and here's who they want to be president. four reputable pollsters came up with four different spreads because they use different formulas to try and figure out among these people polled, do they represent the people that
