from barto. >> reporter: this guy had less than three years to go before he was a free man. now it is in jeopardy. hes was serving time for battery on a law enforcement officer and released in february. around noon today while he any other inmates were on a lunch program in barto, he used the knife to take a guard hostage and locked up the inmate and he took the guard and took off in a city work vehicle and went to pinellas county. the four other inmates got help and by 2:00 p.m., ross was backing in the custody of law enforcement. >> they were set to be released in the near future. they are not supposed to be a threat to society and he will

underwater system on friday. he was a 38-year-old technology consultant from plano, texas with 26 years diving experience special. he and his friend went to a popular and dangerous cave system known as eagle's nest. >> i believe he was prepared as he could be. i looked at his dive plan and did everything i think i could do. but somewhere in there, something he said his son was an expert and he started diving when he was 12 and earned every soiflgz a diver can have. he and his partner dove it on friday and everything was fine. they went back to the caves on sunday and never resurfaced.
