11:39 pm
>> let's bring in the pollster that predicted the outcome six nights ago. matt what did you see that other pollsters missed? >> i think what they missed is they were weighting their polls. you have to weight to something an they were looking at the 2012 turnout. what i was seeing is that certain demographic such as whieth men were going to turn out at a higher level in florida than in 2012. we were going to see additional changes. more individuals independent going republican. those are the changes that made a difference between the two point or so deficit for trump and a one to two point win for trump in the end. >> so you preducted florida for trump. you predicted the overall race for donald trump despate the preponderance of polls. what about the camp clinton touted so much. where did that go? >> it occurred. the problem for the clinton

white vote, particularly white male vote going to the republican nominee trump, was much bigger. it was bigger in florida. so by ratio, it wasn't that significant to see the increase in the hispanic vote. this was a monumental turnout all over the country. 14-15 million votes above 2012 and the largest turnout in american history. you knew somebody was coming out to vote who had never been there before. some were hispanic but a lot were white, in many who just decided they would get out and for the first time vote. >> matt, you correctly predicted the outcome of this election. no u give us predictions of what will happen in trump's first one hundred days. give us specific prediction for cabinet positions and what will go through congress. >> all right, merissa. i don't have a crystal ball. i work on the numbers. >> yes, you do. >> but i will say i think you'll see some of the big names

happened was in 2000 when al gore won the popular vote but george w. bush won the lks. trump took states in the midwest like wu wi and michigan that usually go blue. >> okay. please ?welcome our contributor and prize winning journalist charley leduff. char le merissa, merissa slps charley. nice to meet you. michigan has not gone republican since 1988. what changed in michigan? >> it may be it's the economy stupid. there's no work. no matter what experts want to say, no matter what think tanks want to say. no matter what some statistics out of the federal government are. it's not going well hear. people are broke. they are upset. nobody is listening to them. the republican party got blown up. the democrats decided they were going to be a machine and lock it down and paid the price. it's the economy stupid.

moments. remember when you asked the republican party boss in cleveland do describe donald trump in one word. >> one word... trump? >> how did the party bosses who could not describe then respond to him now? >> i went back for the republican national convention and revisited robert frost. that's his name. i said it again, trump? he says, next united states. guess what? if you win, he looks better doesn't he. how do they deal with it? kiss his rear end. that's what they're going to do. they're going to look for jobs, construction projects, it's on. he's the president. that's the way it goes and i think it's going to be a lot of back pedalling now, don't you? merissa, i didn't mean to call you stupid. the economy is stupid like in general. >> we got that.
11:44 pm
>> all right. you hit the road every week to explain who we are as americans and where we're going. what does this election tell us about america in 2016? >> first of all, black people didn't show up. you know why? nobody they believed in. obama is out they sat it out. a lot of white people showed up and interestingly, 30% of nonwhites went that's right. 30. what this tells you, again, is people are nervous about their children's future. they are nervous about their homes. they are worried about their job, the food on their table, the economy is not good. i think you're going to see some massive tax cuts and that's probably not good for the bottom line. that's what you'll see, i think. >> charley, thank you for your time. >> love you man.
