june 18th, is 96 degrees. which was set in 1957. we'll see if that record still is standing by the ends. day. if you are standing around the beach today, this is a good place to be, although, it will be warmer today than it was yesterday. because we've got a westerly breeze, lands breeze, instead of that sea breeze. 15 miles an hour, so breezy day, with temperatures in the low 80s, right along the shore, 66 degrees ocean water temperature, nine for your uv index today. so that's a good place for relief from the heat which is going to be bad enough we have heat advisory in effect for today. noon to 7:00 p.m. it will feel like it is in the upper 90s, with those actual temperatures, in the low to mid 90s, throughout the day today. but, no more 90s in the seven day forecast, after today. we showed you the thunderstorms for tomorrow. the dry day on friday. saturday, we think that frontal system may come back to us, as america warmfront, linger in the area, so we have to put the chance of some thunderstorms for saturday, and maybe, again, on sunday
7:48 am
night. so, certainly not a wash out of a weekends, and not as hot as today. but certainly not as perfect kacie as the past couple of weekends have been. >> at least it will be warm, and we're not complaining. bala cynwyd, belmont at east city line avenue, one accident there. that's going to definitely slow you down specially with all of the traffic lights. westbound side of 422, at royersford. you have got an accident blocking the left lane, so you can see the westbound delay, you can see that eastbound delay, here is a look at a lot of your majors, and you can see everything pretty jam up, this wednesday morning. >> 7:48. the motto is refreshing. no more boring or bad food in the suburbs. i think we can use refresh many where ever we can get it today, right, jen? >> absolutely. okay, so in glen mills, i just want you to see the space. not your average joe's will open officially. drew me in when they said we have a restaurant that's a little different. first of all jeff adorable,
7:49 am
high. >> high. >> you drew me in. i like the fact that you are working the community groups like the west chester food cover. good morning to you, charlotte. >> good morning. >> so tell me how this works? basically you guys will partner with community groups every tuesday? >> correct. we partner with community groups every tuesday across all of our restaurants, and when we do an opening, that is great opportunity to reach out, to folks like the west chester food cupboard, get them engaged in the opening party. get them engaged in a long-term relationship. >> party this weekend will benefit this organization, one of the things that we want to talk to you about, it is the last week of school for many kids. and people think west chester, fancy neighborhood. no one needs assistance in anyway. you say that's quite the opposite specially in the summer? >> and that's true. west chester does have a need, and our food cupboard is there. in the sum area lot of the children don't get the school lunches that they would get during the year. so that's an extra meal for each child in a household. so we do have increase need. we have a need all year long.
7:50 am
>> so happy these guys are helping? >> yes, because if it wasn't for community support our doors would not be open. >> so let's get the party started. because now we know we are helping. i want to know a little bit about your food for people who don't know you what guys, so what are you doing here? what's the best food? >> can't go past here. this is our bread we bake in-house every day. bit of calling card for us, carmelize dollars onion, we serve it account bright roman owe olive oil. >> super mod else? does not look like soup he model die. >> the super model bread. >> okay good. >> i want to make sure you saw that we will be eat that together later. i laid out few of popular items, some of which are super approachable, like mustard crusted chicken, mashed tomatoes, green beans, been on the menu since we started, something little morrell gant, little lighter, super model food, our ahi tuna salad, christie juan tons. >> a shame it is not pretty. >> and then pan seared scallops with cues cues, almost like suck a tab, bacon,
7:51 am
corn, snap piece, then fan favorite for appetize is her our caribbean buffalo chicken tenders, super spicy, yummy, delicious. >> yes, cool. sue said it, and i know that your motto is you don't want boring food in the suburbs. and the thing that i like here is like if people are going to be a little add very tour some cool but not freak i deky? >> we love bold flavors, bright colors, so meet leaf is different than traditional, key cheese melting in the middle, little mini one with crispy fried onions on top. all of the dishes that may sound somewhat familiar on the menu, we have our own little take on it, not your average joe approach. the other thing that i like is you know how this is? glen mills, the people can be a little bit particular, chaddsford, they are very sophisticated. do you accommodate them and obviously food allergies and certain things in terms of their health. but, you know, you can
7:52 am
accommodate and twist little bit in case they need something different? >> absolutely. we are a hospitality customer driven company. and, you know, we started off as a very food send trick restaurant, 20 years ago, and the food send trick aspect hasn't changed. we have chefs in every restaurant, those chefs have the ability and the power to modify dishes, as guest requests, so our ability to accommodate whether it is allergies or just prefer renz cents or sometimes those, you know, cookie interests a guest might have we can do. >> that's good news, mary ann vaughn my boss lives in this neighborhood and doesn't like fancy pants food all time. so when she comes in, yes? >> now we don't want to turn on the oven or stove today. toes hot. when can we go and there? >> this weekend invitation only. >> monday, hot, sue, yes. >> thank you.
7:53 am
>> today is national picnic day. how about the food trucks? >> yes, food trucks offer more than just great fast-food, or food fast, at least, turns out, they're actually safer than sit down restaurants. we'll explain why you're in better hands out there on the street. but first, you may want to ramp it up when you turn on the charm. turns out, most people have no idea when they're being hit on. next, the difference between men and women, who recognize when they're being flirted with.
7:57 am
flirting with them. just 36% of men know when a man is coming onto them. just 18%, yes, of women realize when they're being flirted with. >> the crew over at wmmr. guys, what do you think about this? >> we were just actually talking about this, story about anna kendrick saying she hadn't been hit on in couple of years. >> five years. >> five years. >> she is so cute. >> yes. we thought that was a bunch of crap. what we basically thought is a lot of women, it depends on who is hitting on them, whether they recognize it or not. so, basically, if they're not attractive, then they don't realize -- or you're not attracted to them. >> hey, for every pot. >> well, kathy, katie was just hit on recently, right? >> i sure was. >> yes, there go. >> sense of pride. >> no, bye think it is the women maybe they're not being hit on somebody that they find attractive, so they take it as oh, i don't get hit on. >> that's it. i think that's more often the case than not. i think guys are just we're
7:58 am
dumb. >> you know what also? >> you may not even know what message you are transmitting. maybe you think urinating and the girl just doesn't pick up on your messages. >> but you know what i also think? not in this particular study, guys that think women are hitting on them when they're not. >> oh, well, then there is that. >> i'll bet you that number is huge. >> enormous. >> look at the stud. >> i oh, look, she likes me. >> that's the dynamic. look at the numbers, 36% of men think they are area being hit on, just 18% half of the women think so. so i think we've just casino of, you know, been patting ourselves on the back. >> worlds of dilution attached to this. >> sue has a story about this. >> i live this, because my husband tells me he had a crush on pea for years, we work together before we started dating. i had no clue. that's what i meant. that, you know, he was -- he had a crush on me, but he wasn't transmitting that message. >> a bit of symetry, for years i was firing on your husband.
7:59 am
>> oh? >> and he never new. >> never new. >> sue, does he admit, though, that he was pursuing you, and you just didn't know it? or did he ever say he was flirting? >> here is the thing, he didn't want to ever say anything. have you ever had a crush on a girl oh, she would never like me, so you don't say anything? >> sure. >> that was it. >> that's why you park in a van across the street, sends that message. dangerous. >> well, we have all lived different aspect of the stud. >> i true, true. but i agree with a lot of. >> this i think a lot of people don't realize they're being hit on from time to time. some people think that the other person is interested when they aren't at all, you know. >> luckily i've never had that issue. >> ya. >> underlying dynamic is we're all afraid of rejection, right? >> ya, ya. >> just say t you're hot. want to get a drink? >> nobody ever hits on this one here. >> not you, kacie. you can't even be in this. go outside.
8:00 am
>> i can't hit on people? well, i have a boyfriend, but -- >> sure, sure. right, right. >> who made the first move with you two? >> did he. >> oh, okay. >> there go. >> ya. >> all-star already. >> kacie has had entire life of people making the first move on her, so. >> flirting with us over there? >> you pick up on it! finally they saw it. >> good morning, guys, it is 8:00. good day, it is wednesday, june 18th. 2014. >> live, from the fox 29 studio. this is "good day philadelphia". >> looks normal, but it is a little difficult to breathe out there, the air is very thick going to get to the 90s again today, but will we have a heatwave? coming up. >> q? >> out here, asking people, use the hashtag fox 29 hot or colds. i have the seventh graders
8:01 am
about to be eighth graders, what do you guys like? >> hot. >> you like it hot. jen, what's going on with you? >> you see this food, i have to dive into it, the bruno cheese. what about if you're gluten free? they have you covered. entire menu of glued end free yummy. we put it to the test. >> epic impact day. that means we're letting you join our ride to concord cancer. let's get in this and fight cancer together. >> she is cool, comfort, loose fitting clothing. >> when you bike, you create a breeze. >> but sweating like crazy to do it. >> well, ya. >> humidity yesterday mid 80s, what's the humidity today? >> well, ya. we have -- when you talk about the dew point, that's real accurate measure of humidity 60s, sticky, 70s, owe press itch. that's what we're predicting
8:02 am
for later today. but for right now, let's start with bus stop buddy and your pal muggy, oh, yes, when muggy the dog appears temperatures 70s, 80s, sun's been up since 5:30 this morning, but six for your number because of the heat advisory. and the fact that it will feel like it is about 99 degrees, this afternoon, pop up thunderstorms are possible, too, later on in the day. so, noon to 7:00 that's the worse time for the heat and humidity, when you need to take it easy, don't over exert yourself if you can help it. humidity at the moment, not bad, southwest winds, dew point will be rising. so yesterday finally the first 90 degrees day of 2014. when it got to 93, today 95, 73, muggy once again, caste?
8:03 am

>> we certainly made a big deal how we would reach 09 degrees for the first time in 2014. we did, but we weren't the only ones, that also got to up 90 in bethlehem. and in allentown yesterday. as we move a little bit closer, there is your 93, which was the official hyatt philly international. also, 93 in chester, and if bensalem, yesterday, 90, up in doylestown, yesterday. and even at the shore, they weren't spared. now if you were right along the beach, you got that sea breeze, inland, atlantic city international, 49 degrees. now, let's check the dew points, our measure of moisture, so, 63 is our current dew point in philadelphia, most of our dew points are in the low to mid 60s at the moment. what's that meaning? once you get above 60 degrees, it starts to feel a little sticky out there, so right between sticky and uncomfortable right now,
8:14 am
headed toward oppressive. by the end of the day, once those temperatures continue to rise. temperatures right now, already at 82 degrees. in philadelphia. it is 80 in wilmington. it is 82 in millville. eighty-one in atlantic city. 70 degrees, already, even up in the mountains, where you usually go to cool off. so our forecasted high 95, the records, for today's date, june 18th, 96 degrees, it was setback in 1957. we'll see if it is still standing by the end of the day today. we will have a heat advisory, for the rest of the day, once noon gets here. and that's because we're expecting it to feel like it is in the upper 90s, and it is most of the urban counties, that are experiencing that heat advisory, for today. so, again, it is not a day to over exert yourself outside. specially if you have health issues. 95 degrees today, 84 tomorrow. strong thunderstorms moving through. friday looks like the best weather day out of the next seven, because it should be dry, it should be low humidity on friday, and temperatures down in the lower 80s,
8:15 am
temperatures are okay, over the weekend, but we expect thunderstorms, at some point, on saturday. and maybe on sunday night. not a wash out but less than perfect. >> keep your eye on the sky. all do you have remember. you do have accident this morning, 76, pretty slow, as well, westbound side of 422, at royersford, do you have an accident, looks like it did just clear, but still, do you have some residual delays, and volume on 422, in hamilton, new jersey, eastbound side of 195 just east of 206 accident involving overturned vehicle. it is blocking the left lane this morning. in fact, you have delays here, there, and everywhere. >> so also today, it is epic impact day across the state of pennsylvania, the initiative to help raise money for the ride to connor cancer benefitting pen medicine's abramson cancer center this will be the first year they're doing this ride. it will happen in october, so
