south jersey, this morning, groups of people catch glimpse of the same black bear roaming their neighborhoods. plus: >> and this is happening again. >> told she was simply too stressed, a woman grabs her cell phone and starts recording her symptoms. the new diagnosis, thanks to this video, that may have saved her life. oh, my goodness. and new signs of life by the phillies, they're on a role. won seven of their last nine games. does this mean there is hope for the phillies yet? very good morning to you. >> i think there is always hope. we haven't gotten to the all-star break. >> good point. they always give us hope after the all-star break that we'll seement mike jerrick we hope will be back tomorrow. we all know how horrible back pain can be, just one of the things mike's dealing with, so hopefully he's back tomorrow if not mondayment thanks for become. for being with us, heard about this after we went off the air
7:01 am
yesterday. told they can keep their name, have really lost the rights to the trademark, what does that mean? we'll have ken rothweiler in to talk about. that will also, a debate this with hue and mark coming up i should say -- >> john marks, thank you very much. >> hashtaghashtag fox 29 rename. we've gotten some humerous response. >> fun to be creative. we had somebody say the dc destroyers, wasn't bad. the capitols? >> right. >> they have the nationals. >> right. >> so now what else can they do? >> yes. used to be the washington bullets, to get rid of that for their nba team, wizards, also innocuous, sue serio -- >> the lutz used to be the baltimore bullets, before they were the washington bullets. >> there we see ill literation there. we can go on and on, but thinking all right, fine, what's the weather what's your number for today? how about a five in not as hot
7:02 am
today on the plus side, no more 90s for awhile, strong storms, from the overnight hours, are gone, but, rest of the day will be casino of cloud which showers around. >> still humid, another round comes through later in the day. there is your numbers by the numbers. philadelphia public schools, you will want with a to have your rain gear with you, going to school, where ever you are going today, more showers on the way, temps in the 60s, 70s, as we walk out the door, and there is some rainout to our west. watching that, and some other rain, expected to pop up before the morning is through. 74 degrees, little bit of sun, whole lot of clouds, relative humidity at 79%. and then a high of 81 today. ninety-four the high yesterday. little more comfortable. we will have thunderstorm or two specially to the south of us, some of those could be strong. clearing out overnight though. turning bit cooler. sixty-three in the city. fifty's in the suburbs.
7:03 am
caste? >> thank you, sue. few accidents to get to. a the love things that are going to slow you down this morning, so we start with just taking a look at all of the travel times. you can see 76, headed westbound, 95 southbound, those will be your worse spots. in lakewood township madison avenue route nine closed at eighth street. fire activity there. clifton avenue, great alternate. horsham road at norristown road. a dent there involving three vehicles. so another slow point this morning. guys? >> all right, kacie, those storms overnight that sue just talk about left this. some real damage across the area, this is what it looks like in quakertown, bucks county, the weather brought trees and wires down on the 1600 block of commonly road. officials specials this road to be closed by several hours. quite a mess in the aftermath of the storm. meantime, firefighters battle house fire overnight, and in chalfont, bucks county being broke out 200 block of summer ridge circle around 3:15, crews quickly got this thing under control. officials say the fire was contain to the attic, so no one was hurt, and the cause of this fire now is under

investigation. november west depford, new jersey, fire strike caused a fire. fire broke out around 3:00 in the morning on home on lynn drive. officials say lightning struck the chimney and ignite that fire. >> luckily, no one was injured. >> in south jersey, black bear is keeping residents on their toast, a bear made another appearance, kacie, last night. >> out in westhampton, that neighborhood where the bear was last seen. steve, waist going on this morning? >> well, kacie, instead of looking down the block, across the street, you may want to strain your neck and look up. because we've learned, because we had that severe weather overnight, boy there was real loud thunder, and lightning here, even branches were coming down, but we learned what happens when a bear is around, an area where there is thunder and lightning. they don't run under something, they run up a tree. shear proof. video shot by somebody six years ago of another bear
7:05 am
munching on stuff in the backyard, and he is rolling in the rain when a big booming thunder suddenly hits. watch what happens. >> (rain heard). >> the bear's first reaction to go up, which is strange, because lightning hits trees. but the lightning around here and the thunder was so loud, that bear still may be up a tree. we had several not just one hit like that, and i know chris fox, my photographer, win up a tree, to go to dunkin' donuts and put a dozen boston creams down at the bottom to get him to go to work today. video shot here yesterday, in westhampton, a lot of people taking out their cell phones, and not going into the house but actually coming out to see the bear the opposite to sigh what all of the wildlife and people telling you not to do. how can you resist a lot of people are telling us there is bear is making a summer tour
7:06 am
through south jersey, ten towns it will be, if he shows up somewhere new today. in one week, and a lot of the people here specially the older people, the parents, more so than the kids, seem to be the most excited. >> we couldn't believe what we saw, the bear was jumping, cut over the gate, through the backyard. >> probably 300-pound, wasn't little. >> we followed it all the way from mt. laurel out this way. so he was in holiday village, and he took a dip in the retention pond, and he headed toward this way. >> i was casino of like in shock. so the adrenaline to find the bear, heard about it, i didn't see it, when it was that close it was almost unreal. >> most of the experts say the same bear since last week in camden county because it is going from town to town. each time it goes to different town the next neighboring town. so started down route 73, got to mt. laurel where the intersection of 73 and 38 is, and makes right at 38, comes up here, then one day yesterday, even though the heat was as hot as it has gotten everywhere this year, he hits three different towns.
7:07 am
so he can move fast. he hits westhampton, hainesport, also mt. holly. in fact, in hainesport, once the principal at the hainesport school saw the bear near a bus stop. he said no kids are getting let out of school today. the kids left in school on hot day, no going out to play, no going out to take a bus, whether the kids walk home or got busted home they had emergency pick up by all parent and guardians. so a lot of the officials are taking this bear seriously even though he's not acted aggressive toward anybody so far. one other thing, kacie, sue, chris, the bears are afraid of, i just watched a bunch of videos, house cats. so you don't need a big dog to scare this bear away. from nice house cat, they scare these bears up trees, too, hysterical but true. experts say they're afraid of cats because they know they can scratch their eyes out. got good house cat, you're safe. >> even though they're outside, like elephants afraid of mice. >> and guess what? chance to adopt a cat later on fox fursday, we have kitten
