by anybody, you're under magnifying glass. and spanking may be part of what's evaluated whether you are a good parent? beyond the real cases that ends up making their way to social services, just typical spanking, for something a kid may have done wrong with sibling type thing, what is a judge going to look at there? why would he even go to a judge if it was the case? neighbor saw you spanning your kid in the backyard type thing? >> rare to go to the judge, more unusual, and maybe even more unreasonable. what judges are looking at, part of discipline. are you sitting down with your child, talking to them, store a lack of control? are you using controlled spanking with an open hand or are you punching your child? the types of things most parent won't even consider are the types of things that make their way to the court. >> heather, you are a lawyer. legally this seems so ambiguous so many levels up to interpretation. >> it is up to interpretation. it differs by state.
