suburban st. louis community, where police have clashed with protesters, for the fourth straight night after the shooting death of an un arm teenager. heavily armed officers in ferguson, using tear gas, and smoke bombs, to disperse crowds after flaming objects were thrown at police. protesters are demanding answers, in connection with the shooting death of the unarmed teenager, 18 year old michael brown. >> if we don't stand up for our children nobody else will stand up for our children. >> two arrested for not clearing out quickly enough from a mcdonald's where they were working, the two who worked ft. washington post and the had your inning ton post were released without any charges. both say they were assaulted but not seriously hurt. meanwhile police chief in ferguson still refuse to go name that police officer who fired the shots that killed that young man. >> however, did he reveal that the officer involved was injured. now, police in ferguson are

also encouraging residents to hold demonstrations only during the daylight hours. this say this will curb the violence, prosecutors as well as the local head of the naacp are scheduled to meet with brown's family later today. meanwhile, more than dozen people smashed their way into a st. louis shoe store, looters ran into the store, grabbed as many shoes as they could, earlier this week, police arrested dozens every people for burning and looting businesses in ferguson. there is also been second police involved shooting in ferguson that left a man in critical condition. this happened on tuesday. >> we told but it yesterday, police say, 19 year old protester pointed a gun at an officer. now, he is facing number of charges. and philadelphia police are trying to track down the gunman who shot and killed a 20 year old man, outside of all things a concert for peace. >> it happened in fairmount park, fox's czar even a there live with details. good morning. >> hey, good morning, guys, the victim just 20 years old,

the suspect, 17 or 18 years old. now, so many young people attended this peace benefit concert here, the del music center last night. 600 people were inside, when gunshots rang out here in the parking lot just feet from the main gate. obviously creating a hectic crime scene for investigators, let's lock at the video from last night. police say 20 year old man was shot twice, once in the torso, and once in the leg with large caliber semiautomatic gun. he died, this morning, at temple university hospital. now, police say there was some sort of argument over woman that's when somebody the suspect pulled a gun, right now, police are hunting for that man. here's an update we got on the investigation. >> based on evidence anibal is i can evidence, took took part in front of the del music center there is individual shot about 50 feet from the front gates, we were actually walk in to attend the concert.

we found two spent shell casings from a large caliber semiautomatic gun in the parking lot right near where the victim collapsed. which is an indication that the shooter was in very close proximity to the victim when the victim was shot. description shooter, thin builds, wearing black t-shirt, jeans -- >> and, back here, live, you can see those are chalk marks on the gown, where police were canvassing and collecting evidence last night into early this morning. some of the evidence that they were able to collect was actually surveillance video, from cameras mounted here, along the side of the center, they're saying, that that surveillance video is quite good. that it worded -- recorded the entire shooting, police hope that leads them to the suspect. back to you. >> let's hope so. thank you, sack even a more violence overnight in other parts of the city also kept police very bus. >> i so it started in north

philadelphia. man there was shot multiple times inside a home. police were called to the scene along 4500 block of buoy street just after 12:30, witnesses told police three men were involved in the shooting than they took off on foot. three other adults, and child, inside the home, were not hurtment thankfully. police say what they call narcotics paraphernalia found inside the home, and they're trying to determine if that, in fact, was row late dollars to the shooting. the man shot was last reported in critical condition. and police are investigating a double shooting in south philadelphia overnight. investigators say two, 18 year old men, were shot at tenth and bainbridge streets. both were taken to the hospital in stable condition. no word yet on suspect or mother disbelief in pine hill, new jersey, a man was stabbed several times at an apartment complex. it happened at the pine hill apartments, located on blackwood clementon road. police were called out just before 10:00. no word yet if the person responsible for this stabbing was arrested. and there has been another shooting in south jersey,

targeting police officers. this time, in bridgeton. >> this comes just one day after shots were fired, at police in west depford. fox 29's steve keeley live in bridgeton this morning, with the details on this. unbelievable, really, steve? >> we have the newest details, $40,000 total in reward offers now from the police benevolent association, whose president of the new jersey pba says this, quote, for the past two days now, police officers have been targeted for attack in the state. we are not going to stand for it. the shooting at police and their headquarters and on street corner is something every law abiding citizens should be outraged at. but not outraged but outright hatred for police we in bridge done as we interview people at the scene of the latest intended gunfire targeted at police here. two intention at shootings, two south jersey departments, on two consecutive days this week, so now those two big, $20,000 rewards, from the state pba, whose reaction to

boys can be reluctant to read. so, how can you help get some boys reading? >> let's check in with jenn fred, who is asking teachers this morning. jen? >> chris here is a tip for you. one word at a time. yes, we're here with thirds grade teachers, katie, jennifer, good morning. i love being able to like get in your brain, ask your questions, you know these are questions parents want. so i guess the first question is when we talk about boy reading, harder to get them involved. talking first, second, third, through sixth grade. right? why do you think that is? >> a lot of studies on this, i know already mom of four year old who is very difficult to get to sit still long enough to sit through a whole book.

things like that. so i'm picking up on his interest, and get him to choose his own books that he wants to read. because right there, sort of half the battle of getting him to want to reach and sit still long enough. i think that's a trends that i see even with my students up through third grade already. that they really want things that are more inter-active, and things that are little less sit still, get them to sit and focus for long time. >> here is one of your first tips, expand your definition of readingment jen, what's that mean? >> traditionally, all of us going to school, reading a lot of fiction, a lot of non-fiction, now seeing you can read anything from a magazine, to instructions on how to build something, to recipe books, to box scores on sports games. so what's real important the number of things your kid gets to read. push that in whatever your kid is interested n interested in leggo, ton of leggo books out there for them.

interested in gross stuff -- >> is there a number we're supposed to know? how do we know they are read that number of words? >> normally we suggest for our third graders to read 20 minutes a night. if they are reading at independent level, they are getting more than enough. plus also reading in school. we're pushing their level at school so at home we want them to read high interest what they want to read. we doesn't want mom and dad to keep pushing things down their throats, what they want them to read. we want them to go and pick up, finish a book, so they're interested in in it. >> reading whatever they want to read important in making sure specially when it is boys because i think, you know, moms and dads, we don't know what's out there. >> right? so if we hear a kid say i heard that somebody is reading a goosebump book, you want us to google that, try to figure out what they're authentically into? >> i think a lot of different resources we can talk about it a little later, but talking to their friends, if they have similar interests of their friend, one of the best ways, we a lot of group shea with different books they're reading some of the best ways we can finds out what's

interesting to them. >> like mini book club? >> absolutely, mini book club. >> embrace new technology, at home, we have a kindle. i know that brody, my little guy, he'll read anything on a concerned. but then i almost feel like it is cheat ago little bedroom you say that's not how i should be thinking? >> no, i think it is important to be open minds philadelphia they're too long read on the kindle versus sit wag book, if they find that's more inter-active or more motivating to them i say go with it, i say go with whatever motivates or excites them. >> you agree? >> i do. we have to embrace the technology that's here. our kids these days love the computer, ipad, they have access to all of these things, if we can get our kids to read a magazine or a book on the kindle or on the computer, let's do it, let's put if in their hands, however we can get it there. >> is this cheating? everyone has summer reading, trying to get them through it right so we can get to go on vacation and everything. we're riding with him, we'll read two, three pages, let him read couple of the pages. is that cheating or good oodle with -- riding with them?

>> the things parents don't realize, after a kid learns thousand read, once they can put together words and sentences you shouldn't stop reading with them or to them. one of the best gifts you can give your kids show them you love riding with them, but hearing how an adult reads, hearing the flu end is he the way it sounds is one of the best things a kid can hear why we do so much read allowed. we want kids to hear what an adult sounds like, when they read. so they can model that, just like they learned how to talk. >> also, just kids having trouble focusing and sitting still. think that's great way to add that inter-active peace, get them talking about what they are reading with adults, and specially, after a long day of school, when you have a kid that just really is having trouble sitting and focusing for that 20 minutes a night it, may be really helpful to have them read with you or with a sibling, just to get them to read for that 15, 20 minutes a night. >> one place to start i know you both agree thon is non-fiction, when it comes to boys, like these i survive boys, you love them? >> really great. actually not incredibly difficult. but high interest for many grade levels, and they're

based on real historic events that boys tends to really be into things liar hurricane cat reason, a the titanic, things like 9/11, there are historical fiction based on real events, but really interesting to kids that they are learning factual information, and they're also very action packed. and of pretty certainly reading level, so a lot -- >> not too many -- >> , no no, they keep them appropriate. >> last thing, websites, there are resources and i know you you love this guys read. com. why do you like this website? >> one of the reasons we love guys read, i push my sister in through guys read, that is great resource. it is a website of john tosca, great author, and he was also a teacher for ten years, so he really gets t and he categorizes things, one of the things we love about it, it has categories like things that explode. things that are grows, you can click on there it, gives you a list of books that fit in the
