showers in burlington county atlantic and into cape may county in new jersey. most of showers sweep through this morning. by new a lot of clouds, but the rain has ended. by 3:00 you start to see the sunday peak out and from west to east that will be the drend through the rest of the day. 3:00 it's still kind of cloudy, but the sun should break out pretty quickly after that. temperatures right now are in the 60s. 69 in philadelphia to 70 in wildwood. that's probably our high treatment. turning pretty chilly. 44 is the low tonight. a cold start to sunday. 6 # is the high treatment. we moderate and we're back into the 70s for the rest of the week. we love our interaction. you've got your twitter, your instagrams. facebook is actually the grad daddy of all our networks. now threes a new player, a site that's calling us the anti facebook or social media expert. what's this all about? >> oh, my gosh.

i am an that i scored a super exclusive invitation from a high school friend the other day. 48 hours in, i won't feel very mellow. it feels like a dimly lit room and a low ceiling and across the way from me there's a big picture window that looks very inviting, but i can't quite see through it yet. eel owe is still kind of mysterious. i totally get what paul is trying to do. he is a super creative, he well-educated guy. this is an interesting site. is it going to kill facebook, no way help me explain it. it's called elo. who is it for? why do i need it or not need it? >> who are the people who plief it will appeal to the most.
8:33 am
the first reason why it is getting such huge buzz is because facebook is now requiring everyone to use their real name. for certain groups of people for whatever reason don't want to use their real name, they can come to elo and you creating your user name for yourself and you're virtually unsearchable. people can't find you. the way on facebook, the people that pop up that you may know or that you may have something to common in with. this is not the same on eel owe. you cannot piend me unless i tell you how to find me or unless you happen to stumble upon me. > is this like a receipt society? do i need to be invited. >> you need to be invited.
8:34 am
real now they're saying that their servers can only handle so much. right now it's being rumored that they only receive 50,000 requests per day. i don't think it's that hard to score an invite. i'd be happy to invite you. i really, honestly think that is going to appeal to people who only are interested in a certain group of friends. you really can communicate with -- your feel friends. if you have 300 friends on facebook, think of how many of those people you actually are truly interested in what they're saying and the other stuff that's just kind of troweling by. you can search people into friends and noise and nobody knows what category they have been categorized into. when you click on noirks you'll see a screen that almost reminds me of a pint board.
8:35 am
as a parent i'm wondering is this safe for kids? am i kids going to get on this and i'm not going to know what's happening because people aren't giving their real names? are there security features on it. >> i think that kids are not going to be as likely to flock to this because honestly i think it's going to be more trouble than it's worth for them. when they figure it out, they might. and that's another place where parental software control can hopefully come into play and monitor that for a parent. > something else to learn. thank you so much for spending your time with us this saturday. >> thanks for having me, karen. i love to see you guys. > she's one of our good tweet ears. tweet up and see what you think about it. are you going to try it? do you want to get invited. what do you think about it. let us know. just use that hashtag fox 29 weekend. >> we need to focus.

9:05 am
the country. federal officials confirmed the first case of ebb on american soil. it kills about 50 percent of people who become infected. it can lead to sudden fever, vomiting and severe pleading. it's a very scary disease and it poses some real questions. dr. art kaplan joins us this morning. thanks so much for joining us. >> thanks for having meg. > what's our biggest concern when it comes to ebb in this country? >> panic. i think there's danger that we're all just going to do things like avoid things from africa or not go on a plane or walk on the other side of the street when someone seems to have a fever. there's no reason for panic. we have to be concerned, pay attention. i'm not sure some of the government responses to ebola have been up to snuff, but no reason for panic yet, because this is a disease in the us we can control. let's get to some questions, dr. kaplan. i think we had some people ask
9:06 am
questions that we want to read. one is why hasn't air travel originating in west africa been stopped. >> very tough from preventing people from west after rick contact getting here. i'm not sure you can stop people from there coming here. my suggestion on that one, ask people to get a visa, have a doctor certify that they haven't had any symptoms for 14 days or 2 s 1* days. i think that would go further toward keeping us safe than trying to stop plains from getting here. the system is just too complex. anybody who wants to get here can figure out a way to get here. > that makes total sense. let's go to our next question. it says will quarantines be necessary if outbreaks exists or is this completely on the population to be vigilant again. >> we are already of going to have some quarantines. we've already had one in l dallas. we're going to see more.
9:07 am
people will get exposed, get in a bet, a plane. we have troops there, we have media, dr.s, nurses helping out there. somebody has to come back and need to be quarantined. so quarantine the city of philadelphia, the state of new jersey, they have the authority to keep you in your home. but what we want to watch for here is make sure how we're going to feed people, are we going to clean their clothing. if you quarantine and you have to throw away bed link and some other things. we have to make sure our agencies are doing the quarantines correct limit our last and final question this morning, if you got ebola would you want right to be receiving treatment that hadn't undergone fda trials but had been proven effective. >> great question. experimental drugs, experimental vaccines for ebola we don't know that they're safe, most haven't been tested beyond animals. but i'd say we ought to give
9:08 am
people a chance. if they understand that the thing might make them sick or it might not work or it might cost a fair amount of money, but if they want it, i think they should have the right to get it. dr. kaplan, we appreciate all that foampleghts it was very helpful. >> thank you. > do you see how this works, if you post something on our social media sites we get the answers. that hashtag you have to use, fox 29 weekend. > you guys have been sending us so many pictures, keep them coming. sometimes in the news room we have a conversation and we want to bring it to you. let's get to our executive producer. aaron, good morning, guys. what are we talking about this morning, guys. >> last week someone sent us a tweet talking about saturday morning cartoons. that happens, getting up in the morning, watching your cartoons. it got us talking about our favorite cartoons as kids. mine was the flint stones. i was always torn, the flint

9:14 am

9:17 am
when shady went for 1600 yards, the rams struggled stop the run. this is a matchup that the eagles are looking forward to. this might be the sparkplug that gets the game running this year. > you have some pictures from the week? about two weeks ago we dived into labron james hairline, for a bald guy i enjoy talking about other men's hair. i think it's jealousy. two weeks ago we're looking at labron's hair and then awful a sudden everything looks great. how did he do it? i think we figured out how he did it and if it's good enough for the king, it's good enough for me. i'm thinking maybe a possible sponsorship deal may be in the works, underway for me. let me get dressed up like labron. he went from having the receding hairline to not having the residing hairline.

9:31 am
additional space to the house, you can adding square footage, the cheapest is to build up, not out. a storage room on the second floor, maybe over top of the garage, that would be a great place to start. if you have a question you want answered, tweet us at fox 29 philly hashtag around the house. > it's a little drear i outlook, if you take a look from the airport, i think we have some problems for some people. maybe you got the notice your kid's game was canceled because of all the something i fields. the damage has already been done. we've had a lot of soccer games. the events are being canceled. even though it's going to stop raining, the fields are too wet. they may have to cancel it because the reign makes it so wet out there. you see it spinning across the

9:35 am
title. so many of the things or the and it to the clues were not specifically geared toward women. i think that would have helped. they could may have made it much better opportunity. let's talk about reproductive rights, let's talk about maternity leave, let's talk about the women that are in the forefront of womens rights. there is no time to talk about sleepy time tea or vacuum cleaners. > the man stepped up and got it right. >> yes, but are we in the 1950s. we are women, we move beyond just being in the household. being in the household is fine if that's what we choose to do, but we have to look at the diversity of women in our society and jeopardy failed to do that. > maybe we need a new hashtag for jeopardy like try again. thank you so much. > absolutely. thank you. if you want to sound out and tell us what you think about
