right now on fox 29 weekend, your kids spend time on facebook, twitter and instagram. but are parents liable for what they post? plus, it's that time of year again. the dreaded cold and flu season. instead of reaching for the medicine cabinet, how about a home remedy? we've got a few to share and we'd like to know yours. your stories, your comments, your pictures. this is fox 29 weekend. and good sunday morning. grab your cup of coffee, your tea or something hot. from the fox 29 studios in old city philadelphia welcome to the

8:02 am
and luckily it isn't bringing any wet weather with it. at the beginning of the walk, starting in about an hour, if you're just about to head rout side. 50, 9:00 a.m., 53 when it comes to a conclusion at 11:00 a.m. it will turn breezy so it will feel cooler than that. clear skies, cooler air settling in. late tonight, early tomorrow morning our attention turns to the potential for frost or freeze across the area. the exception of philadelphia and delaware counties. i think we're not going to see forecast in the city because of urban heating there. you get out to the suburbs frost advisory including south jersey. cumberland, the same goes forth the jai-alai valley.

8:05 am
ruling says that you parents can be liable for what your kids post online? i don't know how i feel about that. what was the court's reasoning for that? we're joaned by attorney heather hanson. what's the reason? >> it's an unusual situation because the original court said the parents could not be held liable, then the appellate court, in georgia, they said here the situation was so bad, the parents were so negligent that they could in fact be held liable because they had a whole year's notice that their children had these horrible postings up and didn't do anything to make them take them down. it sort of extends to other situations that are less bad. >> sometimes we know technology gets ahead of the law and the law has to evolve. is that what's kind of happening here? >> you hit the nail on the head. our law especially here in pennsylvania, delaware and new jersey, when you're talking
8:06 am
about parents' liabilities for their kids, it's focused on vandalism or driving in the car and it's not focused on computers and facebook and all of these things that we see coming to the forefront for parents so the law has a lot of catching up to do. >> speaking of the tweet we saw, should parents be scared out of their minds? >> here in pennsylvania and in delaware, new jersey, it seems a little less likely that a parent would be held liable to a great extent. there's limits on the money that can be awarded in that type of thing. the concern is this will evolve into a criminal thing. so parents could be held criminally responsible for cyber bullying and that type of thing. that is not the case now. as you law changes in other parts of the country, it's something we need to be aware of. >> some free fox 29 weekend advice from heather. what's your final word for parents out there? >> you've got to do your best to
8:07 am
control what your children are doing online, but you have to also understand that you can't be perfect and right now the law isn't holding you to a standard of perfection. >> thank you for taking times out for us. >> thank you, lauren. >> and of course if you have anything else you want to ask heather, you can tweet us. >> there is a big gathering in southern city happening this morning. this is a 28th annual aids walk philadelphia. it brings 10,000 people together. they're raising money for aids awareness. good morning sabina. >> reporter: you can see tons of people out here to support the 28th year for the walk and run. but it could not be more relevant today. hiv infection rates are up here in the city of philadelphia. the rate of new infection are five times the national average. new infections are up among

8:09 am
people who are newly infected are between the ages of 13 and 24. that is so young. >> yes, it's so young. and it's a hard time in life. people tend to feel invulnerable at that time. they're also resistant to information information that they need the most right now how to keep themselves safe, how to know their hiv infection status. the other statistics, one in six of infected people don't know they have hiv. if you put those two together, we have a problem. >> there's so many young people out here today. there has to be one way to reach out to these young folks. >> this is true. this is fantastic. in the early days of this walk, and i've done every one since 1987. so in the early days of the walk, it was older people, people who were already infected or knew somebody who was infected. after about eight or nine years, suddenly the school system
