he had been scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, in that horrific kidnapping in the 16 year-old little girl but that case could be months or years away they are telling me because barnes is brought back today to philadelphia face the federal kidnapping case involving carlesha first. his first court appearance since his arrest last week now, still will be tomorrow, same day but different court and now different state. barnes is being pick up from a virginia jail to be taken to the federal holding center at seventh and arch streets. federal judge signed the order to have look virginia jail turn barners over to the fbi to make sure barnes gets here for his scheduled court appearance tomorrow. his latest continuity in the jail will here tonight will come almost a year to the day, since he was let out of the another pennsylvania prison last november, after doing just eight years in a max, 16 year sentence for that savage attack on his ex-wife and father-in-law. so alex and mike, with a first court appearance tomorrow here in philadelphia, barnes

attorney being present. prosecutors charged frein in the shooting death of corporal brian dickson and the shooting of trooper alex douglass. just a few weeks ago. seven new jersey high school football players accused in the hazing scandal will be tried as juveniles. middlesex county prosecutor says that. >> the sayreville war memorial high school football players were arrested last month all between ages of 15 and 17 years old. prosecutors say that the teens held other players against their will and touched them in a sexual manner. school superintendent canceled the football season after the hazing allegations were first discovered. yep, 7:08 on this tuesday. former philadelphia traffic court judge convicted of per injury any federal court will plead guilty in a unrelated corruption case. there she is 71 year-old thomassin tynes is expect to add in myth to taking a $2,000 tiffany bracelet, from an

informant. her plead is a huge win for philadelphia district attorney seth williams who reopened the case, this past summer. and at 7:09. just in time for veterans day, new efforts are underway to improve services for our vets. >> yeah, jenny joyce is live outside the va hospital with more on those improvements, much needed, jenny. >> reporter: absolutely much needed mike and alex. with the new leader in the va we are hearing that they are pledge to go provide better care to our veterans, hire more doctors and then discipline those who have contributed to the outrageously long wait times for veterans medical care. to improve communication between officials and veterans, meeting was held in our area last night, veterans and their families were invited to attend and speak up about their issues and concerns. one man explains he has been battling for benefits for ten years.

decades long war in iraq and afghanistan, a recession back home, and over reach on the part of the va has led to absurd wait times for medical care. with the new leader the va says it has a plan in place to improve the system, veterans tell us that they are cautiously optimistic. >> i think we have a way ahead to help us ensure we are centered on veterans and focused on how we best deliver whatever that benefit he or she may have earned. >> in general, the length of time it takes for your veterans to get services they need. >> for eight to ten, on average about nine months for a survivor, minimum of a year. long time. >> we know we have made great progress and here in philadelphia a we have come a long way. we are on target. we make no claim over 125 days at 98 percent quality by the end of 2015. >> reporter: va handles roughly 36,000 disability claims each year. the department not only wants to catch up on the backlog but

>> it is very a hazy. all around fog. that is still the case out there in some places this morning. it was not supposed to get this cold this soon. but the problem is that, typhoon nori which was in the pacific last week, it has now decided to way north to alaska and dislodge the polar air. it is already affecting places like minneapolis, and minnesota and then that whole big cold air mass tomorrow afternoon will be dipping further to the south and dislodging the jet stream so that cold air can get here, sooner then it was, supposed to. and once it is here, it will be settling in for a while and won't be going away anytime in the foreseeable future. so we will have have to watch out for possible possibilities of some, wintry precipitation but we don't have anything measurable or anything of a big deal in the forecast. the big deal is getting used to the cold air once it gets here.

most part the following is settled on the new jersey side of the river. so we have got 295 with some fog. live look at route 07 with haddonfield road, in the background is the cherry hill mall, heading out front door in south jersey, fog is on the jersey side. heading to the airport, fog not impacting any flights out of philly international, we are off to a good start there heading north on 295, a crash approaching the 42 freeway, heading in towards bellmawr, expect delays, and, of course, coming into philadelphia on the whitman that will tie you up as well. northeast philadelphia, grant and the boulevard, one of the busiest intersections, the highest number of accidents occur at this intersection, not just in philadelphia but in the country. grant and a boulevard, the crash up there bridges looking good. we have a little bit of volume. inbound on the schuylkill no fog or sun. inbound schuylkill 18 minute trip from conshohocken to center city. southbound i925, we have the jam wood have tone downtown, a 15 minute trip and some delays

whitman bridge. if you are leaving south jersey, we are jammo, from pretty much 55, heading in towards the the walt whitman bridge. another problem is on the westbound pennsylvania turnpike right near the norristown interchange. an accident and debris in the road. that is tying us up as we head towards plymouth meeting interchange. accident northeast philadelphia and grant and the roosevelt boulevard, otherwise we are looking at a half an hour delay in bound on the schuylkill expressway and mass transit no delays. mike and alex back to you. >> it turned out to be a good story. yesterday we spoke with joe chambers and daunte johnson, two men who pulled a philadelphia police officer out of the burning car after that serious accident. well to day we're glad to say that officer, mark kimsee is out of the hospital, albeit on crutches, and he and his 17 year-old teen who jump into action joining us live in the studio. we have seen the the picture of the two have of you together in the hospital room. good to have you on, officer.

accident happen. >> we received a radio call with a person with the weapon. we were on our way to that, following another car. >> lights and sirens. >> yes. >> came up to the stop sign. i didn't see any traffic, any pedestrian traffic. i started to go through the interest section. last thing i remember seeing the front fender of a pickup truck and then my vehicle, bam. i don't remember a whole lot of it. >> what did it do to your leg. >> they say it is in the broken, just have have to get a few more tests done. >> that impact, it hurt you loge. >> it sent me into the police equipment in the vehicle because we have equipment. i hit my head on something. >> are you groggy. >> at this time i was. i was in and out of consciousness. >> you don't remember a whole lot of it. >> no, i remember bits and piecees do you remember seeing the flames. did you see them when you got out of the car. >> when i got out of the vehicle joe tried standing me up. he drug me away from the car
