'tis the spirit. clouds have increased overnight as we take a live look of center city philadelphia on this sunday morning. it's chilly, it's cloud degrees, it certainly feels more like january than november but we'll see some changes as early as tomorrow. warmer air moving in. so is another system with some wintry weather. looks like the warm air will beat the rain and snow meaning we should see mainly rain. ultimate doppler showing an area of snow moving through

south central parks some making it to the ground although this is in the higher elevations of the laurel high lands and east of there towards harrisburg. snow making into the western edge of the poconos. not sure if that's making it to the ground but we could see flurries throughout the day especially north and west. we have a winter weather advisory in effect late tonight through early monday morning. if you live in carbon and monroe counties this is for the threat of freezing rain. you should see snowflakes initially. we change to rain but because the cold air has been in place the past couple days rain to freeze upon contact up north. fox futurecast shows a the lot of clouds. as karen said it's football weather. there's that crispness to the air which will carry over into tonight. 11 o'clock waiting on the rain down around baltimore. watch that come in by early monday morning. so, tomorrow what you need to be prepared for is umbrellas. not just the cold but just the rain and that will last through much of the day even some heavy rain possible as we

head into monday evening. notice though this clears out pretty quickly. you don't see any blue or white meaning we're not really expecting any snow on the back edge of this system. we see that exit quickly and we'll see sunshine build in for tuesday. right now 29 in mount pocono no, sir, 30 bethlehem. blow freezing in a lot of spots. 34 in warminster, 37 in philadelphia. down into south jersey it's 36 in bridgeton and 35 in ac. for today we should make it into the mid 40's by this afternoon a lot of clouds but we stay dry. 48 is that high temperature. after the rain comes more cold air. we'll show you that in your seven-day forecast f lauren. >> caitlin thank you so much. we're following breaking news this morning. a new 16 minute video poster by isis claims an american aide worker has been behead. 26 year old peter crass significance was captured in syria last year. the white house release add statement saying if that video is authentic it would be "appalled by the brutal murder of an innocent american." >> sad news this morning a

10-year-old boy in the hospital after police say hely shot himself with his father's gun. >> children hospital with brad. do we know how this happened. >> reporter: still trying to figure this out. as mentioned a very sad story. last we heard this 10-year-old boy in very critical condition too many cases of kids able to access a parent's gun. let's take you to the scene. this is delaware county off of caln hook road in darby township. the kids were inside a car alone outside an auto repair business waiting for their dad who works there to finish for the night. the 10-year-old boy found a .357 magnum inside the car accidentally shot himself in the head. the 20-year-old as we mentioned said to be in extremely critical condition as of last night. police got there in a couple minutes. the boy at the time was lifeless but was revived and then take to fitzgerald mercy hospital from there taken here to chop where he underwent surgery overnight. police still looking into of

course why the kids were left alone and how they had access to this weapon. >> the childrens mother had to go to work. she dropped them off to the father who was just finishing up. i don't know how long they were there for but it doesn't seem to be a long period of time at this point. >> reporter: family not being identified. we know they did not live far from the scene of this incident. delaware county attorney looking into possible criminal charges as well but obviously all eyes right now focused on this little 10-year-old boy hoping he's going to be okay. >> yeah, we do brad. thank you for that update. a man is dead after a shooting overnight in north philadelphia. it happened around 2:30 this morning at west somerset street and north 21st street. so far no arrests. a live look at center city where crews are spending the day removing the iconic pnb letters from the skyline. the letters were hoisted on top of the highrise by philadelphia national bank back in the 50's. crews attempted to remove the letters several months ago but had to stop because they were

in such bad condition. >> looks like it's all going well now. >> it does. several streets around city hall will be closed until 4 o'clock so crews can work. fifteenth from arch to chestnut. north broad to j.f.k. south broad the from penn square to chestnut. fifteenth to 16th, south penn square from 15th to juniper and j.f.k. to juniper to 16th. did you get all that? hopefully you can see it on the map. police will be on hand of course to help direct traffic around that area. karen. >> you stink, that's what some folks in new jersey are saying. they are tired of living with the putrid stench from the pennsylvania landfill drifting across the river into their burlington county neighborhood. they're so fed up they're suing. they've made this a class action case. let's take a look at the landfill. this is what we're talking about right in bucks county right across from florence new jersey. people there say that the stench is so bad it's actually making them sick and they've got to stay indoors. so, joining us by skype to

talk about this stinky situation we have attorney heather hanson. good morning. >> good morning, karen. >> first of all do you think they have a case on this one. >> absolutely. there are a lot of cases out there where you've got landfills, different types of hog farms that are causing a stench so bad that it's made the homes around there sort of unlivable so they do have a case. whether or not they're going get a lost money is a different question. >> speaking of questions some of our comments from some of our viewers, the people of new jersey want it both ways writes frank. take the trash to pa and the smell as a pa resident i say keep your trash and the smell. by the way, ever get a good sniff of jersey city on a windy day where there is a perpetual burning of tires lol. frank brings up a good point. a lot of this crash comes from new jersey. is that going to matter do you think. >> it is not going to m it is a good points and it's frustrating because you figure why are they bringing their trash to pennsylvania and then complaining about the smell? the fact is what really matters here is whether or not the landfill is doing

reasonable means to keep it as unsmelly as possible. so, if they're doing anything within their power to make sure that that's the case they'll have a good defense. if they're not, if there are things that they could be doing to make it better they're going have to do those things and they may have to pay some money. >> i think they've been trying to work on remediating the smell for a number of years. a couple viewers say not in my backyard. wait, it's been 44 years. people are idiots. this landfill has been there for a very long time. is that going to matter? it's been there for 40 some years and people move next to a landfill. >> i saw a lot those comments. the question is not how long it's been there it's whether or not things have changed. so if over the last few years things have gottennersy worse and we know that the environmental protection agency has actually issued some sort of a warning to them, so it appears as though things may have gotten worse and that will be enough to establish a case. if things have stayed the same those 44 years, and if people have moved into the area, that makes the case less of a case

for the plaintiff but when things have changed, it's a little bit harder to defend. >> so, do you think that they have this case that they can actually get some money, the people that live in that area? >> the amount of money in these types of cases tends to be pretty minimal. the only people who are really make out are the lawyers. what often happens is there's a change. as you've already said they're trying to fix the smell, trying to put different air filters and that type of thing in. that usually happens and whether or not they get money even if they do it's such a minimal amount that it doesn't do a whole lot for the people who suing. again the only people who get a lot of money are the lawyers. >> that's always the way it is. heather, thank you so much. >> thanks, karen. >> thank you. we'll leave you with this one last thought because it's a pastime we have between people who live in pennsylvania and new jersey is where we make fun of each other. jodi writes in and says i guess those jersey people forgot about north jersey. talk a stench. all right, trash talking, let it continue. so, we'll have a lot more comments certainly on this one. you can join our discussion. use that hashtag fox 29

altoona but further towards the southwest we're watching, this system that developed overnight bringing rain to places like arkansas and western tennessee. it's making a northeasterly jog and it will continue to do so bringing us some rain by later tonight. now, temperatures right now cold enough to support snow especially further north and west. 29 in mount pocono, 37 in philadelphia but luckily we have all day for these temperatures to warm up. at least above freezing for all of us. 35 in millville and 37 in wildwood where a lot of us are already above freezing. so, here's how it plays out in your seven-day forecast. cloudy today, 48. 55, that's pretty mild and that's why we'll mainly see just rain. the only exception we could be dealing with freezing rain early morning in the poconos where there's a winter weather advisories. cold air comes back in a hurry. very chilly. 35 is it for the high temperature on tuesday, 36 wednesday. not as harsh as we go through the rest of the week. >> ♪ >> time for your health this morning. we're talking about the dale ritual or at least we hope it

is your daily ritual, your shower. maybe taken in the morning, maybe you're one of those evening types. as the cold weather comes we like to take those hot showers before before you do when you turn that dial too much our medical team dina has some tips. >> reporter: good morning, karen. who knew we were doing so much wrong in the shower. >> i know. let me get first to one of our comments because we have danielle telling us on twitter i like hot showers. but you're saying i need to be a debbie downer on this one no to those hot showers. >> reporter: yeah, and i love them, too, danielle. it's like one of life's simple pleasures. can we please have that a nice hot shower. the problem is that hot water especially this time of year when we're cranking up the heat inside, the air outside is super drive so then you take a nice hot shower you're string your body of all those owns it's bad for your skin and what happens is the more you do it, the more you -- your body tries to overcompensate for the lack of oils so it's not g you got to

take it down maybe warm, a warm shower instead of scalding yourself in the hot shower. but i know, it's hard to do. >> well, i also like to think that if i could take the shot shower and when i get out and my bathroom is steamy and i can put the cream on and that can lock in some of the moisture as well. >> you're exactly right. in fact when i talk to dermatologists about that, the key is when you are moisturizer after you get out of the shower when your skin is still wet, don't dry off, when your skin is still wet put on a nice layer of moisturizer a-niece cream, a nice lotion depending on how dry your skin is and that will trap in that moisture and that's really good for your skin. >> how about brushing your teeth, let's get to this comment from danielle she's talking about people brush their teeth in the shower. is that a do or a don't? >> well, i've done that. i think i'm the only one. we can't find anyone who has brushed their teeth in the shower i'm multitasking, i'm scrubbing, i'm brushing because i love the shower. but apparently that's not a good idea and this is why.

when you are brushing your teeth in the shower, the experts say you're not giving enough attention to your teeth it's supposed to be a full two minutes getting up there and when you're in the shower there's too many other distractions, you're trying to scrub and do all this other stuff so they say don't brush your teeth in the shower, it's not good for your teeth. >> my husband is the other person. >> okay, good. get it all done at once. >> what are some of the other things. >> multitasking. >> yeah, completely. >> okay, here's the thing. if you use a a natural sponge only keep it for one month and then throw eight weigh. all those nooks and crannies. the bacteria love it, it's moist and warm, it never dries out completely on the inside so you start growing bacteria. wash cloths you can wash it after two or three time of using it. same issue, starts to grow bacteria and without knowing it you're putting that bacteria on your body.

>> ♪ >> this is your fox food bite. >> ♪ >> we're here making sausage sage stuffing for your turkey this thanks give. add blended oil before you brown off three-quarter its pound sage sausage for stuffing. sage sausage has a better flavor to go with the what nuts. buy bulk at any local market. you don't have to worry about taking out casing. comes about 1 pound pack. sausage is brown and cooked, pull it off and drain off the fat before we add it to our stuffing mix. first add butter, five tablespoons, melt that down. start 3 ounces of shallots. 3 ounces of carrots, 3 ounces

of celery, one and a half tablespoons of thyme. saute the vegetables down, get them nice and tender but firm so there's a little bite in the stuffing. butter carmelized nice and sweet. add three-quarters pound of sausage. stir that around. soak up the butter. now we'll add our three and three-quarter ounces of toast ed pecans. pecans add that nutty texture, got earth theeness to it, give that fall flavor. now we're going add our 14 ounces of chicken stock. we're going to bring it to a boil, boil for about two to four minutes and then add our breading. fold the breading into the oil and mix. we added nine cups of bring to the mix, stir for about two to three minutes just until the

liquid is absorbed but you can still see some of the cubes in there. take some nonstick spray, spray our loaf pan. we got the oven downstairs preheated to 350 degrees. we're going to pack this in here nice and advertisement cover it, spray the inside of the aluminum foil with nonstick spray so nothing sticks. wrap over the top of our loaf pan. 20 minutes covered. take off the cover and let it carry on for another 10. now our stuffing is ready. we're going to pull it out and let it cool. now the stuffing is done, time to enjoy. >> ♪ pecan, savory sausage, sweeter of the carrots, really g i'm chef jo frost. this has been your fox food bite. >> ♪

>> ♪ >> kind of cashing in with our weather today caitlin. >> yeah, little bit. it's quiet right now taking a live look at atlantic city. >> look at the sun. >> i know trying to peek through there at the shore although the clouds are increasing. it is a quiet but a chilly morning all across the delaware valley and that includes down the shore where you'll see some rain tomorrow, too. that's what we're watching. ultimate doppler right now showing a little bit of a mix, some light snow and rain moving into our western suburbs. you can see some sprinkles maybe flurries early today. otherwise waiting on the rain. in the tennessee valley stretching back to the gulf coast states that will bring us soaking rain throughout the day monday. it looks to start as snow, maybe some freezing rain for the poconos later tonight. winter weather advisory from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. monday morning so watch for the slick roads for the commute up there. 29 in mount pocono, 30 in allentown now so certainly below freezing but the rest of us are quickly rising. 37 in philadelphia and down in south jersey it's 35 in millville. so we should get up to 48

today. that will help keep temperatures well above normal -- excuse me not above normal, above freezing and so we should see just rain. that rain could be heavy at times on a mild monday, 55 degrees so umbrellas needed but you don't need the winter coats. however, don't put it away too far because check out tuesday. arctic air comes back in again, even colder. 35 for the high temperature. wind chills in the 20's all day long. it's very cold again on wednesday but not as harsh on thursday. and we see temperatures moderate but stay chilly as we head into next weekend. karen. >> thank you caitlin. let's take a live look outside as we take a look at your news in center city. they're all gone. they're not there anymore. man, is that a sight for how many years were they there just decades and decades but now those iconic pnb letters have been taken down. a guy up there on the top of the building. we showed them removing them. they tried to do this several months ago and ran into a lot of problems. the letters were in very fragile condition but now they

did it and pretty quickly so expect the roads to be reopening sooner than thought. lauren. >> a brave group of south jersey residents marched through the night in the bitter cold to save military lives. these patriots took to the track at haddonfield memorial high school honoring the fallen with what's known as a ruck march. a drill service men and women do marching with heavy gear on their backaches. they're working to stop suicides in the military. 22 veterans a day take their lives on average, many after coming home from battle suffering from ptsd. they raised more than $40,000 so far. >> ♪ >> fox 29 weekend is so proud to have a really special group of junior reporters. these kids are so smart. they get great stories. they come from some of our best journalism programs. we got daisy at rider university. thank you for joining us. >> thank you for having me. >> what do you have for us today. >> today i have a story on a small organization in philadelphia that there's light on issues there women
