we did get confirmation that one main is dead, three other people live at the home were able to get out safely. they are being assisted by the red cross. fire crews were dispatched to the 800 block of east chelten avenue just after 11:00 last night. we are toll that the fire was on the second floor of the building which was being used as a boarding home facility with at least four units. police officers arrived on the scene before the fire department, they were using extinguishers to try to put the fire out. the four officers sustained minor injuries and they were treated at a hospital, again, three people got out safely. so the fire department had to force entry into a fourth room where they found one man dead, this morning, the philadelphia fire commissioner is putting out a reminder about fire safety. everyone needs an escape plan and working smoke alarms but in this case it appears they did have smoke detectors but one person did not make it. >> that brings us up to 28 fatality to the year.
